South Beach is a notoriously expensive area of my hometown of Miami, but I wanted to show you guys that you can still explore South Beach on a budget when it comes to food! Join me and my good friend Diana as we hit up five spots to show you some of the cheap eats you can enjoy in South Beach!
LAS OLAS CAFÉ: Here, we ordered a tequeño, a pan de bono, and two cortaditos for $10.89 total. The tequeño was crispy on the outside with lots of stretchy, melted cheese inside. The pan de bono is fluffier and sweeter, and also contains melted cheese. We finished with a cordadito, which is an espresso shot with a bit of milk!
LA SANDWICHERIE: At this popular sandwich shop, we ordered a fresh and tasty French-inspired turkey and brie sandwich with lettuce, tomato, and red onion. It’s a massive sandwich and comes to $12.60 total.
PIZZA RUSTICA: At this popular local pizza joint, they sell pizza by the slice. We decided to try the Hawaiian pizza, which comes topped with ham, pineapple, and tomatoes. It was sweet and savory with a tropical twist. Our one slice came to $7.95.
TAQUIZA: At Taquiza, Diana and I ordered a chapulines (toasted grasshopper) taco and a pollo (chicken) taco. Both came on blue corn tortillas with cilantro, radish, and onion. The chapulines taco also came with guacamole. The chapulines taco came to $5.50 and the chicken cost $4.50, for a grand total of $10.
PUERTO SAGUA RESTAURANT: For our final stop, we went with the oxtail stew, which put us well over our $50 budget at $25. We also ordered two coladas. The oxtail was tender and juicy and melted in my mouth!

It's always good to know where to get good foods at cheaper prices...especially if you're a visitor and don't know where to go.. never been to Miami...hoping to visit at some time....All the foods looked good ....grasshoppers ..maybe...oxtails for sure....and everythig else. The two best places I liked in Miami was that French place with that big sandwich and Pizza Rustica. I would visit Miami but I don't think I could afford to live there.

Love all the food but I will pass on that taco; didn't look appetizing at all. Oxtail everywhere is very expensive, so I wasn't surprised at the price. I was talking to you through the video "David, use your fingers to pick up the oxtail" 😋😂😂😂. I hope you got a doggie bag for the rest of the oxtail. Good to see Nathan in this one. You not believe how many American do not like this, however, it is my favourite by far as it was invented in Canada in the early 60's and yes, I am Canadian. As far as I’m concerned, living in New York now in Florida, I would say New York is the most expensive. I will be careful eating at the place. Is that a heating up the milk in plastic. Not healthy. Thanks for sharing. Now I know where to go when I visit Miami.

Miami isn't even in the top 10 most expensive cities in the U.S., which is why I was confused by the title of this video. If you want to experience the most expensive city in the U.S. come to NYC - where we actually have truly cheap eats.
Respectfully that isn't true. Although I agree the NYC has a better food selection and better cheap eats. However, as of 2021/2022 Miami Is the Most Expensive Real Estate market in the US, more than NYC. According to US News which is well known for these kinds of lists (using various metrics) as of 2023 Miami is the 2nd most expensive city after Los Angeles. In the previous two years it did hold the top spot for periods of time. While I love NYC and I lived there for years, if you consider other metrics, there are arguments to be made for other cities in terms of cost. Also Miami is the most unaffordable place to live in the US due to wage disparity as well. That said, I'm off for some Cheap Eats in NYC literally in the next couple weeks so we agree on that part lol
