It was great to see the entrance hall. How lovely! I couldn’t help but notice how the chapel stands out now that the crowding trees are gone. Also, the removal of the phone and power lines has really changed the frontage. Good for you!

This is so fun! When I was a girl I always wanted to restore my great great grandparents mansion in San Antonio, Texas. But that was not to be. It is the Gunther Mill House at the end of the River Walk. Back then it was closed up .The windows were boarded . My sister and I would wander its dark and mysterious rooms a little spooked. All the beautiful things were covered in dust sheets. When my dad was little he used to roller skate on the Italian marble tiles in the ballroom and sail his little boat in the fountain. It is now a tea house restaurant but you can take tours and even rent the ball room for a wedding. I hear the fountain is working again. How much more fun though to restore a chateau 500 years old ! You should have a Lavender hedge near the laundry room. Linens dried by laying them on Lavender bushes smell divine, it was general practice in the 17thC.

I have been wondering why to spend so much money on the wardrobes approx - 200 or 300eur per wardrobe. Just to store all of them in the attic, where is no insulation against winter weather. Isn't there any more sensible approach to the storage issues?

Pipes! Plumbing problems! Shudder upon shudder. For Valentine's Day this year I was gifted with a $21,000 plumbing bill. And that is just the beginning. You wouldn't know it by looking at my place. Just a drain cape to mark the event. (New sewer line.) Argh!!!!

Stephanie, if your having trouble with kitchen and laundry pipes you could try 1/4 cup of bi carb soda 1/2 cup vinegar slowly pour onto of bi carb following with a full boiling kettle. This is how I keep all pipes clean and I do it twice a year ...💖💖🇦🇺

Some things should e matted and some shouldn’t. Usually you don’t mat something not behind glass, and lots of types of paintings don’t belong behind glass. It really depends not just on personal style, but also the composition and media of the artwork itself!
Philip, the bucket you saw in the antique shop is for water and the sponge on top. It is missing the handle. Maids used to carry these buckets upstairs in the bedrooms to clean the toilette bowls and jugs. I love to watch you antique hunting.
I was just wondering if the lovely man who had agreed to renovate the chapel was still going to be able to do the work. I believe he wanted to retire so I was THRILLED to see him at Lalande.

I know it's out of context, but that spider around the light switch in the chapel...... it's enormous !
I heard the camera person (Nati?) give a little gasp when they spotted it! Oh my lort, I could not let it live!
I thought I was the only one that spotted it. I absolutely abhor spiders, especially those of the giant variety!

@@hahna77 I was surprise nobody comment on that how could you not spot it! Here in Canada we have some big spider but big like that...I probably sell my house to the spider and move out
Hahaha... that's not a big spider! I like spiders because they catch all of the real creepy bugs.
The garden set would look great spaced around your court yard against the walls. Pictures look better with inner bordering, just my opinion of course. 😊
Some things should e matted and some shouldn’t. Usually you don’t mat something not behind glass, and lots of types of paintings don’t belong behind glass. It really depends not just on personal style, but also the composition and media of the artwork itself!

Philip, the bucket you saw in the antique shop is for water and the sponge on top. It is missing the handle. Maids used to carry these buckets upstairs in the bedrooms to clean the toilette bowls and jugs. I love to watch you antique hunting.
I was just wondering if the lovely man who had agreed to renovate the chapel was still going to be able to do the work. I believe he wanted to retire so I was THRILLED to see him at Lalande.
Acidanthera - Peacock orchids - a form of gladioli, are quite impressive grown in clumps. Flower (in London) in August. Very beautiful flowers.
Stephanie, you have come a long way baby from this time last year! It is truly AMAZING! Very excited to see the chapel getting its much needed restoration. I love seeing the woodland animals segment...there are so many wonderful creatures living just outside of the chateau! Thanks, Phillip for sharing this with us!

So much variety in this episode. I think searching for commercial display cases is the right solution for the China pantry. It may also be the best priced solution for the library. I have reservations for Sept and I’m so excited to see all these projects in person.
