That's awesome, those 3 performance mods get you where you need to be without compromising engine reliability! Get you some Michelin Power Pures, they're great on street! Thanks for watching!
Nice Video man. I would encourage people to check your local laws before you start doing the integrated blinkers. In my state blinkers are required to be 9 inches apart. I'm sure that is why manufacturers have these big blinkers that stick out so far from the bike, it allows them to meet all the different state laws. I found this out the hard way on one of my other bikes. The ticket cost me about 5 times what the cost of the blinker integration did. For the Grom I just went with some smaller LED blinkers.
Thanks for commenting and good insight, the same laws apply here, it either 9 or 10 inches between the two blinkers to be legal here in CA. I dont personally mess with the blinkers for that reason.
I am currently looking at getting my very first bike and diving into the rabbit hole of Grom videos and research over the last few months hopefully can find a good deal on one soon and pick her up before my very first child, my daughter gets here haha going to have to manage my budget between the two! one thing i would also recommend for the stunt grom is a aftermarket oil pickup line or whatever it’s called cause when you’re doing wheelies on a stock grom all the oil goes to the bottom end and leaves the top end dry and it’ll smoke your motor

Hey man awesome vid. What is a reasonable price for these groms. I’m in the market for one and I’m planning on installing mods but I don’t know if What I should look for in terms of price. What are your thoughts or anyone else who reads this.
Question... Is the clutch cover you mention compatible with the wheelie friendly oil pump? essentially its an OEM oil pump with a hose that goes to the back of the case so no matter the angel it can get oil and pump it
Question if I don’t want to waste to much or do it much to my grom Do you think the Yoshimura exhaust rs9-t, dhm performance ecu flash, and chimera air intake is enough? If so would I need to do anything to the grom by adding these parts ?
I just love how much you can do to a Grom and all the prices are reasonable. Once you go bigger on a bike or even car, the cost of everything inflates. So with a Grom, you can still have a ton of fun, keep your hobby going, even wild mods, and it still isn't like the most insane shizz ever deep in a debt hole or something. If you damage something or something doesn't work out for you, you can change it without big issues. The community around it is pretty huge too. Just feels like the right kind of thing for someone looking for a sensible hobby.
@@CTGromer OK thank you maybe you could help me I drive about 15 miles each way to work on 2 lane roads and just want to get something a little bit more powerful and a little faster to stay up with traffic you have recipe for exhaust fuel air may a cam. I don't ride it alone. Thanks Mike.
Would buying just the racer mini by itself help with the lean condition or will I have to buy the AF1 controller with it ? Both together are real expensive
I believe you can buy it by itself, unlike the PCV, this REPLACES the stock ECU. It looks to be adjustable, but it also looks like the product is discontinued. I don't know much about them, as I've never used them and don't have any buddies that have. Thanks for watching the video!
Hey Arnold, going down one tooth in the front has the same effect has going up 3 in the rear. So if you went to 14-37 that would be quite a bit lower, all my friends that stunt and do a lot of parking lot stunt riding use 14-37 gearing, including Christian in this video.
@@andre1000 The volume of air entering a piston chamber is dynamic, in real world scenarios, never static. Many arguments can be made. The most relevant argument would be that the density of air changes with altitude.
@@DarkLinkAD yes true it's dynamic like having a clogged air filter can effect performance, but most of this depends on how air is metered and how fuel is delivered. An intake on these bikes isn't changing much really. Not enough to NEED a fuel controller. But it's still a good mod to get more every bit of performance and smoothness.
Legally, they're not, because you still need the plate light and the blinkers-- which is why if you remove the rear fender you need to buy a fender eliminator kit such as the vegabond which allows you to reattach the blinkers, plate and plate light legally to the back of the grom.
Thanks for watching the video! With a simple switch to a 14 in front (rear stays stock) you should be able to just tighten the slack out of the chain with your chain tensioners. Though, to do it right, I would pick up a cheap master link and dremel a link out, that way you will still have some play on your chain tensioners as the stock chain stretches.
A lot of good ideas for the grom here. The most important are the first mods ie intake exhaust tuner and esp oil cooler and filter. Esp if you live in the south but i'd do it in the north too, is the oil cooler. Get a temp gauge if your oil is over 170 you need the cooler and i bet it will be. Interesting the narrator of the well done video has the cooler but downplays its usefulness. Also to go with the cooler is high output oil pump.
The groms pictured here are from the "OG" era red and black is a 2015, and the gray and purple is a 2014. In my opinion they're my favorite year, but the new 2022s are awesome too.
Thanks for watching and commenting! There’s nothing like riding a motorcycle! Grom or my other bike - a Honda Trail 90 make outstanding learning bikes do to there relatively low power, low seat height and low maintenance engines. You can learn very safely and move up slowly! Enjoy! Good luck!
Tamim Suhail Lots of community colleges have the classes. In some states (Nevada one of them) the class gets you out of taking the test at DMV as their end of class test is exact same... take class paperwork to DMV, get photo taken, give an autograph and cash and get your license mailed to you... Most classes have multiple bikes, try a couple types... have fun!
Tamim Suhail get a dirt bike it’s the most safe way to learn how to ride. If you have a friend with a 125 try to ride their bike to get a feel for the clutch than get a 250 so you can feel some power. Riding in the dirt is more slippery than the road so it helps you learn what your tires can do with out sliding out. Than you can feel comfortable getting a normal size bike to ride on the road. I started with a 125 when I was 11 got a 250 when I was 15 than when I was 22 I was able to ride my dads Harley Davidson dyna glide with no problem and that’s a fairly good sized bike. I still have the Harley since he gave it to me when he passed but I’m working on getting it running again. Hopefully you’ve got something to ride on by now.
Hi CT, I would like to put a air intake on my bike since I already had a amazon exhaust. Which intake would you recommend? Chimera or Dinger Built? Is it worth going for Dinger Built since it's more expensive then Chimer? thank
iv got a question im getting toce exhaust an cold air intake and i wanted to do the ecu at same time but i dont have the funds for a dyno jet what do you think about the DHM REFLASH AND TB CAM PACKAGE? with the intake an toce exhaust
I'd recommend if you're stunting and don't have money for a cage, leave the stock fender on. It's saved my brake light and rear plastics quite a few times when I looped
@@CTGromer Not if, but when in about 2 weeks! I live in remote Western Australia its a 1800 kilometre round trip to pick it up! Be interesting to see how it handles the Gibb River road!
Thanks so much for the kind words! Yes, the "OG" Groms were available new from 2014-2015. The new "SF" models are from 2017-2019 now. The differences are mostly cosmetic, most notable being the new LED headlight and the big hump in the stock seat of the SF. The SF has restyled plastics and rear sets and most of them have IRC tires instead of Vee Rubbers. From an engine and performance standpoint, nothing is different.
I was looking into the grom, but not for stunting. If a guy geared up 2 teeth on the drive sprocket and down 2 on the rear, would that make it more highway friendly? (In the slow lane... probably with exhaust and tune)
Thanks for watching and commenting! The springs are Race tech, Tactical Mindz has them, but I believe you can pic kthem up cheaper currently on Amazon.
Yes, its custom. Its a universal ebay muffler welded to a stock header pipe and custom mounted underneath the bike. Its a pretty slick little setup actually, not too loud.
That is a 1969 Honda Trail 90 or CT90. It's an insanely popular trail bike that Honda sold around the world for years, and you still see them on the road today. The Grom engine is based on this one. I believe you can buy it by itself, unlike the PCV, this REPLACES the stock ECU. It looks to be adjustable, but it also looks like the product is discontinued. I don't know much about them, as I've never used them and don't have any buddies that have. Thanks for watching the video!
Hey CT Gromer so I got 14t in front and I got a stock rear which is 34t if you go 14t in the how much if it adds 3 in the rear sprocket 37t??
Hey Arnold, going down one tooth in the front has the same effect has going up 3 in the rear. So if you went to 14-37 that would be quite a bit lower, all my friends that stunt and do a lot of parking lot stunt riding use 14-37 gearing, including Christian in this video.
Intake does not change air volume, a fuel controller is not needed. It helps fine tune but it is not needed if the intake is changed.
Arguably, it does but (A huge but) its not nearly significant. Elevation for example is a far more dramatic change in performance.
@@DarkLinkAD explain please. cause unless your changing pistons, rods, boring out the cylinder, or adding force induction volume doesn't change.
@@DarkLinkAD Side note: density and what not. I think these bikes account for that with a map sensor I believe.
Hi Daniel, your Video really helped me out to find the best setup for my Grom. Thank you very much.
Best regards from Germany

Are they still street legal without the back fender I wasn’t sure because it takes of the blinkers
Legally, they're not, because you still need the plate light and the blinkers-- which is why if you remove the rear fender you need to buy a fender eliminator kit such as the vegabond which allows you to reattach the blinkers, plate and plate light legally to the back of the grom.
What are your thoughts on higher compression piston and cam for upgraded power? Dhm has drop ins
This mans has a review video on it!
I just installed mine on my 22.
No miles yet cause it’s too cold in the ‘Chicago’ area.
Affordable fun

I will for 200 lb and I want to get a Grom highway 265 do you think those things in hold me
Thanks fore watching the video, it will definitely hold you! I have friends that ride them that weight more than you!
Dropping to a 14t in the front, can you reuse the stock chain?
Thanks for watching the video! With a simple switch to a 14 in front (rear stays stock) you should be able to just tighten the slack out of the chain with your chain tensioners. Though, to do it right, I would pick up a cheap master link and dremel a link out, that way you will still have some play on your chain tensioners as the stock chain stretches.
dope vid man, love your groms
Thanks for watching and commenting! I really appreciate it, you have a grom?
What's the power increase for muffler, air intake and power command?
Not sure, maybe 2-3HP? but the difference is really FELT by the seat of your pants. The bike becomes much more responsive.
I see many different prices for that power commander. what should I expect to actually be paying?
ColdLegend214 $350 ish seems to be the going rate, the wide-band auto-tune O2 sensor is another $250.
@@CTGromer thanks i've got a lot to learn
@@Coldlegend214 Happy to help if you have any other questions brother, hopefully you're getting to ride lots now that Spring is here!
Thoughts on just using the KN OEM style filter, and exhaust if a tuner would be needed?
Hey I’m looking to buy a grom soon, you got a good price range to aim for a used one?
Seems the going rate for a decent used grom is anywhere between $2,500-$3,500 here in California.
What year are these groms been researching a lot about them but idk what the best year would be
The groms pictured here are from the "OG" era red and black is a 2015, and the gray and purple is a 2014. In my opinion they're my favorite year, but the new 2022s are awesome too.
Great info ! Just got my grom yesterday
Congrats bro! Enjoy! be safe and get into a group to ride locally in your area!
Dose the chimera 5 have a program for the KEMIMOTO exhaust and the chimera intake?
Do you think this is a good first bike? not planning on riding the highway anyways
I do, it's low to the ground, light, forgiving power, low maintenance, and cheap to own. All good things.
Great video! I'm thinking of riding, I have zero experience, besides driving cars. Probably start with some classes, and see how it feels.
Thanks for watching and commenting! There’s nothing like riding a motorcycle! Grom or my other bike - a Honda Trail 90 make outstanding learning bikes do to there relatively low power, low seat height and low maintenance engines. You can learn very safely and move up slowly! Enjoy! Good luck!
Tamim Suhail
Lots of community colleges have the classes.
Is it worth going for Dinger Built since it's more expensive then Chimer? thank
I have had zero issues with my Chimera, and really like it. I'd grab the Chimera.
iv got a question im getting toce exhaust an cold air intake and i wanted to do the ecu at same time but i dont have the funds for a dyno jet what do you think about the DHM REFLASH AND TB CAM PACKAGE? with the intake an toce exhaust
I can tell you exactly what I think of it, I got it and installed it and still run it: th-cam.com/video/t7xqQPafvF8/w-d-xo.html I love it!
I'd recommend if you're stunting and don't have money for a cage, leave the stock fender on. It's saved my brake light and rear plastics quite a few times when I looped
That sounds like a great idea! Never thought of that, thanks for commenting!
@2:12 Do you really "hurt" the environment if you don't meet crazy so called emission standards? 🤨
Where in the central valley are you guys? I'm near Fresno and want to know if and where you do ride outs.
Ryan Lake we are in Fresno and Clovis! We ride all the time, do you have a Grom? Shoot me your Instagram username and we will link up!

Hit me up
Hopefully picking up the mini me in a week or two! 😍😍😍
Good luck! Let me know if you get one!
@@CTGromer Not if, but when in about 2 weeks! I live in remote Western Australia its a 1800 kilometre round trip to pick it up! Be interesting to see how it handles the Gibb River road!
Great vid, thanks. Is there much/any difference between the different manufacture years of Grom, or are they all the same ... ?
Thanks so much for the kind words! Yes, the "OG" Groms were available new from 2014-2015. The new "SF" models are from 2017-2019 now. The differences are mostly cosmetic, most notable being the new LED headlight and the big hump in the stock seat of the SF. The SF has restyled plastics and rear sets and most of them have IRC tires instead of Vee Rubbers. From an engine and performance standpoint, nothing is different.
CT Gromer - Great, thank you Sir! Thanks for the reply and keep up the great vids! Be well - K
@@kierenmoore3236 Same to you! Thanks for watching the content!
Did they stop the low mount yoshimura exhaust for 2015 Honda grom?
Good video bro. Just picked up a real Grom to play with. (have the Grom clone "hellcougar") maybe see you on the road someday.
Would love to, where abouts you from?
@@CTGromer Connecticut, saw CT Gromer and assumed you were from CT...
@@MotoCheez A lot of people get confused by that. I'm from california. The CT in my name refers to the CT90, my first bike.
I was looking into the grom, but not for stunting. If a guy geared up 2 teeth on the drive sprocket and down 2 on the rear, would that make it more highway friendly? (In the slow lane... probably with exhaust and tune)
Hey CT, great video, thanks for putting it together.
Do you have anymore information on the front fork kit?
Thanks for watching and commenting! The springs are Race tech, Tactical Mindz has them, but I believe you can pic kthem up cheaper currently on Amazon.
Wat size dirtbike plastics should you get for grom
Bird Miranda thank you for watching, I have no idea!
The oil spinner reminds me of the old Triumph's with their sludge trap.
Honda's been doing it this way on their motors since the 60s, tried and true low-tech solutions.
Have you a seller in germany he tuning the engine .what is about tüv
Unfortunately I know know guys in the states that do that kind of thing--check out DHM.
Did he do a custom exhaust on the purple bike? I like how it’s below the bike. Just wasn’t sure if it was ordered or built. Thanks!
Yes, its custom. Its a universal ebay muffler welded to a stock header pipe and custom mounted underneath the bike. Its a pretty slick little setup actually, not too loud.
What is the bike in the intro with the captain America helmet on it?
That is a 1969 Honda Trail 90 or CT90. It's an insanely popular trail bike that Honda sold around the world for years, and you still see them on the road today. The Grom engine is based on this one. I actually did a video of how it compares to the Grom a while back. Actually the channel's first youtube video! th-cam.com/video/F3IX_idhBig/w-d-xo.html
@@CTGromer I want one. I tried to find one. Ended up buying a grom. Still want one lol
@@prestonsmith2040 They're around, where do you live? Can't go wrong with a grom obviously, but the CT90 has 4 speeds, automatic clutch and a second LOW range of gears, its incredible for offroad.
For the dyna jet can you just use a flashed ECM
Yes you can, and its way cheaper.
Cool mods and video. Groms 🤘

@@CTGromer yah im hoping to get a grom soon, gonna use it to learn parking lot stunts
So he removed his front fender, I like the look and want to know what he did to hold his break cable. Any ideas??
I think he used a zip tie underneath the headlight assembly, but other than that, its just hangin. Thanks for watching and commenting!
yoshimura is so quite even with baffle out, toce or akrapovic sounds way better. more bends in a pipe the torque it will provide
Thanks for commenting! I like the quieter aftermarket pipes, the louder ones give me a a headache and leave me with ringing ears when I'm done riding! I'll have to look at those other brands you mentioned!
Hey good video. For the Raptors handle bars. Would the risers be one inch ?
Thanx
Glad you talked about the vee rubbers.
Those things are a death sentence especially for a new rider.

I learned to wheelie on a stock sprocket it was hard but I learned now well I’m able to keep it up for almost all wheeies
What clutch lever is that on the purple bike
Hudson River hey thanks for watching! It is an RSC.
Why can't you just remove the screen on the air filter which will give it better flow and then just take a paperclip and reset the ECU will it not self learn?
You can definitely do that, but what's your question, as opposed to doing what?
@@CTGromer cuz you were just talking about a power commander and stuff but you left that part out and I thought resetting the ECU went hand-in-hand with taking that cheese grater screen off
