The girls weren't disguised as men . They were made to shave their heads by their father(played by aamir khan) so that they don't get distracted by all the girly things (like styling and stuff). They were also put on a strict diet and had to pull through intense training . Although the movie is an adaptation of real life,it still has dramatic instances solely to sell the movie to Indian audiences(since Indian audiences react to emotions more than anything) . You should also react to behind the scenes of dangal (aamir khan's journey of losing all the weight he had gained for the movie - it also shows the training the actresses had to go through) it is really inspiring .
From what i have seen Koreans are quite insular in their view of India as very backward, kinda surprised how they find these things from trailers based on just girls cutting their hair, quite stupid really.India is one of the veryu few countries who have had women state head .
kushal reddy First of all,i'm a sherpa, which makes me buddhist (not a nepali) learn the difference . Second, don't try to twist what i say . I used the term "Indian" because i myself am born and brought up in India (which makes me as Indian as you) and i myself am a fan of this movie because it connected to me on an emotional level more than anything (since i myself am aware of the subtle and major racism and sexism that exists in our country . Subtle being people like you trying to point out my ethnicity and calling me out for addressing my fellow Indians as Indians ) . Also, since this movie is made in India and for the Indian audience , i do not see any harm in using the word Indian to specify the targeted audience .
razpor It was just an observation on their part . And it is our duty,i believe,to correct those wrong observations . Their observations and theories are based on what they know about India(which isn't neccessarily wrong, just a bit out-dated) I think we can update them without calling them stupid .
David, ' Slumdog Millionaire' is not an Indian movie, it is a Hollywood movie with the story set in India😀.And no ,India does not have any laws restricting women wrestlers.. 'Dangal' became a huge hit in China also because I think they were able to relate to the story,as boys are preffered over girls in most asian countries.!
She is born and raised in mumbai and till the age of 24 she was living in india pursuing her career. That makes her indian no matter which films she does.
lol 90% of our movies is about dancing and stupid love stuff. So that is a right assumption. You will now go on and name maybe 20-30 good movies, but I can point to 2000-3000 movies with dancing crap in them. So the majority is still that our industry sucks. Dont just use Dangal or Bahubali as examples since they are outliers, nothing more
@@prateekkumar9005 I dont watch only hollywood movies. See this is the problem with us Indians. We think that hollywood itself is the outside world. Stop living like a frog in a small pond when there is a huge ocean outside. try other asian dramas, anime, spanish telenovellas, and of course american tv shows(not just hollywood, yeah not everything american is made at hollywood just like not everything indian is made at bollywood). you only proved my point. you wont know what you are missing out if you are blindly appreciating the crap we make under the false premise of patriotism(if thats what you were getting at by the use of the word "culture" lmao).
In the movie Girls are not hiding their identity. Their hairs are short because girls told their father that they can't do wrestling because of long hairs. And You Guys Should Watch This Movie It Is Really Very Good.
saw this about a month ago, it got me really interested in Bollywood movies. I can't believe aamir khan put on weight and lost it for the role (in such a short amount of time too)

That's true, but I think they weren't exactly wrong either. The older generation (more so in rural areas) tend to favour boys. At least when it comes to sports and similar things
@Jeena.. you are right...but it was long ago...not now...girls in rural areas are also competing for everything now...this movie showed a story of almost 30 years ago.
I don't know actually. At least from what I've seen in the newspapers and documentaries, and studied at college, rural India still seems to be largely patriarchal. Gender roles are taken seriously. And I've seen it present in a subtle way when I visit my native place at Tamil Nadu. But yes, things are definitely changing too. I hope that soon enough, women wouldn't face as many issues as they do, just for being born as women.
annyeonghaseyo ! yeah thats the guy from 3 idiots! and girls are allowed to wrestle in India! this is a very inspiring movie .. showing girl power in India! the reason their heads was shaven was bcz he wanted them to focus on their wrestling and less on their looks! The girls of their age would have been married off as 14 to 15 years of age or younger. This still happens in certain parts of India. Hence why this movie is SO inspiring.
Not all Bollywood films are musicals although most of them are. But Dangal does have songs in it. I guess they wanted to give the trailer a more serious feel.. so no songs there. N ya there r actually a lot of similarities between our cultures.
1:50 Well, Those Girls Cut their Hairs short not To fake pretend as Boys...Bt to avoid the physical problems they having during Wrestling with those long hairs!!!
this movie will bring you to tears really 😂 i don't want to give you any spoiler alert but no, the father did not want others to perceive his daughter as boys! there are other reasons why he cut their hair and you need to watch it to know why ; ) the place setting at first is at a village, and you know how village people tends to be more conservative and all but the second place setting when they are bigger is in a sport university and there are LOTS of female wrestlers! god , so hard to explain without giving out any spoilers. 🤧

No you get it wrong. He didn't try to cover the fact that they are girls it's just he shaved their heads because their hair was getting in the way while fighting. I don't watch Indian movies usually but this one is a really great movie. I do recommend it
It is the story of our nation's pride Babita Phogat and Gita Phogat. They are recognised wrestler of Indian subcontinent. They have won, awards for India even at Olympics level. The story tell about their journey of wrestling and their fathers' struggle. It is from state of Haryana region in India.
3:20 Slumdog millionaire is A Hollywood movie With fictional storyline based in India & It's Literally like The Most Western minded Stereotypically image presentation movie on India.
I would like to point out a few things-1) Not all Bollywood movies have singing and dancing. In fact, there are many old Bollywood movies as well, which have no dancing, so it's not a new thing for Bollywood. It's a stereotype that Bollywood movies ALWAYS have singing and dancing. 2) There are no laws in India which restrict women from wrestling (remember, India is not a Islamic State, it's a secular State & one of the largest democracies of the world, our constitution believes in equality, justice and liberty). But the theme that was being portrayed in this particular movie is - A) As you said, like many cultures, the preference of a boy over a girl by parents (especially in rural and backward areas as shown in the movie) B) Wrestling being a so called 'Boys sport'. I think you can relate it to Korea as well, girls are expected to be feminine and if they do anything that is deemed as 'manly' by the society, they will hear comments like "Who will marry her? She acts like a guy", "This is a man's sport, let the men handle it", "Act like a girl, be more feminine", "You are a girl, how can you do this? I'm a man, let me protect you, just be the weak girl you are", "Girls shouldn't have muscles, they should be petite" etc and anyone who tries to deviate from these societal standards will be a victim of scorn. I believe, this situation is prevalent in Korea as well as India (being a kpop/K-drama fan, I have noticed the extreme sexist mentality dominant in the Korean society as well), plus most Asian countries. Women are expected to be physically weak and supposed act that part so that men can feel superior. This movie is based on a true story, highlighting how women are no less than men & can enter/succeed in any field if given an opportunity by the society. Also, India has progressed quite a lot from this mentality, but unfortunately, it's still prevalent in some Rural/backward areas, but things are changing for the better. 3) Slumdog Millionaire isn't a Bollywood movie, it's a Hollywood movie lolAnyway, thanks for the reaction and I hope this helped clear some of your doubts.
he is the guy from 3 idiots, he gained weight for the movie, loss weight to act as the younger one, david quite good at remembering. i already watched this movie and definitely high recommend for you to watch.
Geeta and babita are Indian gold medalists in wrestling. This movie is based on their real life story. In India many real life movies of great people are shown to show their struggle and perseverance they came over to be what they are today.
Amir himself was a wrestler in the movie so he know all the technicalities that should be followed, which he also pointed in the movie. It is basically about right and wrong.
Yes i think too. Even tho there are many differences...we can find many similarities in both cultures. The one I wanna mention is, talking in honorifics to folders and giving them respect.
Hi guys.. The girls never kept their identities hidden. Geeta's first professional bout was against a boy, and she told the guy to not hold back because she is a girl. No question of keeping their identities under cover.
do you know in South India we refer to our parents as amma in my language (Kannada) & in the Korean language it is omma and appa is same in my language to refer to father and you say aboji for a father it is appaji here and also we use nan to refer to me here as well ... initially, when I heard Korean it sounded like a South Indian language a mixture of Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu, and Tamil I was so confused I had a hard time believing it was a different language but then I understood it was. I think most South Indian languages sound and also have some of the rules of your language. In Korean, you have" yo" as a prefix to every sentence to show respect to an elder we too have similar prefixes for respectful speech.
India is not an "Islamic country" bro. Do your research. And Islam doesn't refuse women to do any kind of sport. Islam actually encourages its followers to be fit, energetic and happy people in life. Islam is not an oppression religion. Its actually very beautiful when you get to study it. This coming from a 23year old Muslim woman myself.😊
I don't know why no one has yet suggested you to react on 'Katyar Kaljat Ghusli'. It's a Marathi movie (Marathi is a language spoken in Maharashtra, which is a state in India)
you guys should watch this movie. Its about a father who has 2 girls and he wants them to become something and make india proud. But they are not pretending to be boys. U really should watch this
It doesn't mean all Indians want boy baby more than girls... Here it's just because he wanted his child to participate in wrestling. In earlier times girls were not the one who participate in wrestling and all.. so he wish to have boy baby to achieve his dream. Later on this film, he come to know that his girls can do it and so he train them like boys.
Anyeonghaseyo! this is Bhavya, and it is very pleasant to see ppl from Korea are interested in watching Indian movies. I have seen a lot of Korean dramas n movies and loved them all. Though you got it slightly wrong on your perception about Indian females, you just watch the movie you will get it all. Amir Khan is an incredible actor his movies are extraordinary. India is a very progressive country irrespective of it's gender.
Yea that is true what you said about similarities between Indian and Korean culture. I also think that it's Asian culture, that one can find similarities between Indian, Korean, Chinese culture.
As an Indian who follows kpop and kdramas, I would say that there are a few similarities within the two cultures. But then there are a lot of similar cultures all across Asia.India is a melting pot of cultures, so not everything can be applicable to the whole country. however I recommend you to watch this movie based in rural India, it portrays the success of girls in a patriarchal society aided by their father.
The girl wrestlers in the movie were laughed upon by the villagers when they were told that the girls will wrestle. Thus Aamir Khan, their father challenges the local wrestlers to fight the girls and try and win. They were percieved as girls from the beginning.
I'm loving the bond between Asian countries now indian loves k-pop , kdrama I mean it's actually spreading faster than corona , Korean people are also loving bollywood movies (Obviously not everyone bcz everyone don't have same taste it's actually asper my knowledge) also in china many people are loving it , many japanese ppl too gave a reaction on bollywood movies ...it actually makes me feel good , no matter from which country you are or how's the relationship between our government we indians love each and every country from the bottom of our heart ❤️❤️
Slumdog Millionaire is NOT an Indian movie.. It's a British drama , directed by a British with an Indian star cast. However, for some weird & funny reason the guy from the slum of Bombay speaks with a british accent... !!
Haha they didn't pretend to be boys XD The story in the early part of the movie actually revolves around how they were not allowed to participate in the local wrestling competition. It's also based in rural Harayana which is a state that has quite a bit of gender discrimination but still produces a lot of female and male athletes.
Can't wait for the movie review!! And lol u were right about him (Aamir Khan) being from there idiots and wrong about everything else related to the story... Hope u like movie tho, it's pretty inspirational!!
I was seeing the comments on the video....n I wanna ask one question...how come your hands don't pain writing long essays here? this isn't English exam!😂
India is not a 'Islamic' country. India has every religion. It's a secular country.
Yes , India has composite culture.
Muslims are invaders for India not real son, hindu , Sikh, bodh, jain are real blood of India.
It's hindu country 😂🚩

Dangal won over Train to Busan in Asian International awards
No you get it wrong. He didn't try to cover the fact that they are girls it's just he shaved their heads because their hair was getting in the way while fighting. I don't watch Indian movies usually but this one is a really great movie. I do recommend it
0:10 not only in India but it got famous in China too
So fast again 😀😀😀😀

3:20 Slumdog millionaire is A Hollywood movie With fictional storyline based in India & It's Literally like The Most Western minded Stereotypically image presentation movie on India.
You should do a reaction on a popular novela 😂 It would be funny to see what you think about one!
kimmie [킴미] the should react to Pasion de gavilanes 😂😂😂 it's a classic 👌🏼
Marisol Cortes what about fuego en la sangre?!?
Please watch the trailer of Mary Kom
Have you guys seen this movie finally ? Seems you were quite impress by the trailer.
did you guys know baahubali : the conclusion not a indian film , south indian film( just kidding )
What got me cracking was, "I don't know, I think this movie is more like Hollywood style?"
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
It might not be hollywood style but its definitely the right direction. Soo much better without singing and dancing out of nowhere.
I saw g dragon in the background 😍
Yes, the guy is the one of leads from Three Idiots. And the last scene is about the wrestler father's young days!!
waiting for the AKMU dinosaur reaction!
You guys should watch this movie. Definitely won't be disappointed, I hope.
Please react to 3 idiots movie scene

Please react to bahubali movie song Kannaa Nidurinchara

Geeta and babita are Indian gold medalists in wrestling. This movie is based on their real life story. In India many real life movies of great people are shown to show their struggle and perseverance they came over to be what they are today.
those girls are the Indian first wrestlers who brought India it's first gold medal for international women wrestling competition
This is the cutest video on TH-cam I swear
Amir himself was a wrestler in the movie so he know all the technicalities that should be followed, which he also pointed in the movie. It is basically about right and wrong.
I have watched korean serials and i could make out that there is a lot of similarity between indian and korean culture.
Dangal pronunciation got me lmaooo
that guy is from "3 idiots" , david...good memory!!
Haha omg ur theories for the movie r hilarious...u guys r awesome😊
the best part of Korea for me is that people have so much glow on their faces
my favourite Korean actor is gong ji chul
Yes i think too. Even tho there are many differences...we can find many similarities in both cultures. The one I wanna mention is, talking in honorifics to folders and giving them respect.
Hi guys.. The girls never kept their identities hidden. Geeta's first professional bout was against a boy, and she told the guy to not hold back because she is a girl. No question of keeping their identities under cover.
3:43 no you guys are wrong... Those girls cut their hair because they were facing difficulties with long hair in wrestling..
do you know in South India we refer to our parents as amma in my language (Kannada) & in the Korean language it is omma and appa is same in my language to refer to father and you say aboji for a father it is appaji here and also we use nan to refer to me here as well ... initially, when I heard Korean it sounded like a South Indian language a mixture of Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu, and Tamil I was so confused I had a hard time believing it was a different language but then I understood it was. I think most South Indian languages sound and also have some of the rules of your language. In Korean, you have" yo" as a prefix to every sentence to show respect to an elder we too have similar prefixes for respectful speech.
South Indian Lang came from Tamil so Tamil first
Tamil is the first language
India is not an "Islamic country" bro. Do your research. And Islam doesn't refuse women to do any kind of sport. Islam actually encourages its followers to be fit, energetic and happy people in life. Islam is not an oppression religion. Its actually very beautiful when you get to study it. This coming from a 23year old Muslim woman myself.😊
I don't know why no one has yet suggested you to react on 'Katyar Kaljat Ghusli'. It's a Marathi movie (Marathi is a language spoken in Maharashtra, which is a state in India)
yes David you are right .He is Amir Khan and he was in 3 Idiots.
you guys should watch this movie.
I also think that it's Asian culture, that one can find similarities between Indian, Korean, Chinese culture.
its a real story and she entered Olympics and won medal
The flim Dangal always gave me goosebumps.
I Really Liked your Review !
They are not pretending to be boys. Their father just got their hair shortened to not to impede their trianing
4:05 YEP. So many similarities :')
1:30 yeah he was the main character of 3 idiots 😂😂
Dangal is highest grossing Indian movie about 300 million USD. Highest grossing sport movie in 2016 worldwide.
yes he is the lead from 3 idiots...react to the trailer " my name is khan"..one of the classic india ever produced
Slumdog Millionaire is NOT an Indian movie.. It's a British drama , directed by a British with an Indian star cast. However, for some weird & funny reason the guy from the slum of Bombay speaks with a british accent... !!
After his comment at 3:00 ... kind of unsubscribed
Haha they didn't pretend to be boys XD The story in the early part of the movie actually revolves around how they were not allowed to participate in the local wrestling competition. It's also based in rural Harayana which is a state that has quite a bit of gender discrimination but still produces a lot of female and male athletes.
Yes he is the main character from the movie 3 idiots , for this movie he gained weight then again got back to shape
The slogan by movie say my girls are better than the boys
You guys promised to give review on "dangal"...have u guys forgot???
Can't wait for the movie review!! And lol u were right about him (Aamir Khan) being from there idiots and wrong about everything else related to the story... Hope u like movie tho, it's pretty inspirational!!
Amir Khan is top actor of India, he is in 3 idiots as well and DANGAL was in hariyana language, it's very nice movie must watch.
It was an awesome movie!! I really recommend it! Everybody knows she was a girl from the start, their dad just wanted them to focus on their training.
I was seeing the comments on the video....n I wanna ask one question...how come your hands don't pain writing long essays here? this isn't English exam!😂
