Great video dude! It's funny, a couple of my retro arcade friends and I have just been talking about some of these games in the past couple of weeks: specifially OSman, Strato Fighter, and Red Earth. It's awesome how going back and doing some research can result in finding some amazing games, and we can at least experience many of them in MAME.
interesting...i recently bought Saboten Bombers on Switch (i was tickled by the image of a cactus throwing bombs). Haven't played it yet. I love Cave and psikyo's shmups and Warzard/Red Earth always held such mystery for me
@2:21-3:57= pound-for-pound the absolute BEST arcade game to not get the recognition it rightfully deserved! sure, we can blame the factors such as it being made by a then lesser-known company like Mitchell Corp.; sure it was published here in the Americas by Atlus, but they weren't yet the titan we know them to be today. couple that with a great-yet-flawed story (which could be blamed on a poor translation job... but actually even to native Japanese audiences it seemed convoluted, to be fair) and no plans to port to home systems of the time, even when Atlus themselves had by then built a solid reputation on that ("Virtual Hydlide" notwhitstanding...!) and it all blended to prevent this magnum jewel from becoming a household name like his older brother is! to make matters worse, Mitchell closed down a few years ago, so our boy Osman's chances at a reboot/remake are slim... but at least he's garnered a nice cult following- to wich I'm a PROUD member of- to keep his legacy alive, as well as hope of his return/arrival to the modern gaming scene!
Yeah, it could have been mitigated a bit if Marvel Vs. Capcom did as well at showcasing Capcom's lesser-known games (like Strider and Cyberbots) as Super Smash Bros. Melee did for Nintendo's (particularly Earthbound and, at that time, Fire Emblem.) Then again, that kind of information wasn't as readily available at the time of MvC1 as it was for Smash.
Wow! Some real hidden gems here, especially the shoot ‘em ups.

The Grid imo had alot of gameplay elements that you can easily see inspiring the fortnite creators.
That announcer from The Grid - I feel like I’ve heard him before :)
It's strange that capcom have never released red earth on consoles apart from guest characters in capcom fighting jam.
Hyperdrive & Rescue Raider were quite rare Midway arcade games.
Explosive Breaker was a weird parody of shmups.
