- The Berkley Pit Boss is one of the most reliable lures in my tackle bag. I've caught countless numbers of fish on it. It's a great rig to pitch around flooded timber, drag across rocks, pitch under docks, etc. I got out just before the storm hit and caught some good fish on the Pit Boss. That is how I have always rigged my pit boss on the t rig... didn't know until you said something that I was doing it upside down. Makes more sense to me to use those ribs in the plastic to protect the hook. Great video again bud!

The Pit Boss is one of my all time favorite craw style baits. The action just can't be beat.
My favorite bait for flipping cover, the Pit Boss!!!!!!! Great durability, simple, doesn't get caught up and best of all very very affordable. I always have a green pumpkin and black and blue pit boss in my bag.
Agreed. Not a bunch of stuff to get tangled. Compact little lure to toss around. Those are good color choices!
You can't beat the price either at 3.29!! I caught my 10lb PB a few years ago on lake Amistad on one. I was using 10lb seaguar red label too and it held up like a champ!
Thats my home lake! There are some true monsters out there. Just got into bass fishing and I have yet to have a bad day out at Lake Amistad

@@vickyr7072 I live in the hill country on the Guadalupe river. My uncle G took me down there when he got his boat. I'm a bank fisherman now. Lol I wish I was closer that's for sure. My biggest river fish has been a 7.

My PB right now is probably around 3.5 (didnt weigh it but it was a chunky beast) in some shallows at the lake. Hope you'll get to come back out, Amistad is a cool place.

I watched this video a couple of years ago and while I was scouting places on a friend's lease, I thought of the Pit Boss. Lots of small trees and wood just like this.Thanks for the TW link below. Did extremely well with them on a nose screw weighted texas rig and a Tokyo rig. So thanks for that. Hope you get fishing weather soon Debo. I know you are ate up with cabin fever.

Just tried the green pumkin with purple pit boss at my local pond, first cast, got nailed and missed the hookset, second cast, caught my first bass in about 3 weeks. Thank you sir for showing this bait

The two best baits to use for bass, is that pumpkin pit boss, and the chrome rattletrap with the blue edge paint and red dot tip, also if you paint a thin chartreuse line down the side of that rattletrap it makes it that much more of a killer bait, but when nothing is working, go to one of these two baits, and you WILL get a bite. 🤠👍

I agree! I’ve caught my PB Largemouth with a pitboss on a weighted swimbait hook Texas rigged. I also Rig it the same way you do. I actually thought that was the proper way lol
the weighted hook gives it a completely different action, I've actually heard lots of people like doing that, Steve Parks does it with all the Rage Tail baits. I'm gonna have to try it out!

Comfortable and fun to fish with. Super fast retrieve. Haven't had any serious backlashes, and the small ones I have had were my fault.
My tactic lately for spring fishing has been to use a chatterbait to fish lots of water to find an aggressive male fish. He'll attack it every time but won't always bite it or loses interest after several casts. Then keep switching lures until I get the big female. At least that's my theory of what's happening, can't see them. Got a 4-lber on my second cast and first time trying the Pit Boss.

Ever since the beginning of summer nothing but dink’s too. The ponds I fish are connected to a river by culverts (old gravel mine) and they keep raising and lowering the release. Should be done now but the bite has been off. Lakes are all high which is great but I’m fishing areas 20ft above where I’m used to. Long story short I feel like I’m fishing these areas for the first time all over lol
Yeah, it can be tough when the water gets really high. Have to search around and find the new places for them to hide! Good luck man👊
I pitch with my strong hand and rrel with my weak hand but i am sure that you wil find this idea of not having to swatch grips after the cast makes for a much more enjoyable fishing day... You Go Dawg...
I use both left and right handed reels. My left arm is my strong arm. However, I like left handed reels for cast and retrieve lures. Thanks for watching!

I've recently been watching your videos for the past month or so and I have to say you have to be my one of my go to channels for fishing. I've enjoyed every video you've posted and I'm hoping to get out and fish some this summer. Just recently purchased a Whopper Plopper and a topwater Frog and hope to get some fish even if they are those DEBO dinks.

From Debo Dinks to Debo Donks! Nice fish, I had a lot of success with the Big Texan bit boss during spawn this year. Bought them as a trailer for a jig and turns out they were juice on a Texas rig.

My VERY FIRST T-Rig/creature bait catch came on the pit boss! In this crazy bright orange color with a bit of black on the “body”. Can’t remember the exact name for the color. But Berkeley really does seem like it’s a very slept on brand for bass fishing. I know they practically own the trout industry. But their bass baits are great too!

I'm thinking that rigging it the way you do, once the hook is pushed through by a fish a few times that hole is going to get so shredded, the hook will end up way out of the bait and highly vulnerable to snagging. When you first rig it the way you do, the bend of the hook is hugged nice and tight and, it stays in place. After a bit you'll have to bury that point into something.
