I do thank you so very very much for having recorded and then uploaded these splendid materials that unveil MR Russell Brand's exquisite honesty that is one of his psychological traits, we, his devotees value the most : his capacity to present himself naked to the very core unto our very eyes. Of course to count with a fellow-comedian as the interviewer here with not only the empathy but also the sensibility to address him in sincerity does make a whole lot of difference when compared with other interviews I've seen. This one the most interesting and revealing of his essence so far ( I've been guided to find, thanks ) a very truthful honest man, MR Brand is, thank you so very much º namaste
I agree. I think this one of his best interviews because she's really lovely. Not judged, seems to get him. Very warm. I'd love it if she interviewed him agin.
this is my favourite interview of russell; he is so calm and honest and not trying to sidetrack and confuse dawn french, maybe because he feels her to be his equal.
Russell Brand is so fantastic. I love it that in all of the interviews I've seen him do, he always refers to the interviewer by name, seems like such a personable, nice person not to mention hilarious ;)
I just adore him so much. "i think that laughter is a response to fear, and i think that we're all afraid of the knowledge that one day we're going to die and when you laugh, temporarily you're relieved and unburdened from the knowledge of the inevitability of death and your united by something"
the way he speaks is beautiful. He uses big words and knows what hes talking about. And he talks in circles but still makes sense. Hes so pretty when hes just being himself..
I really like this interview. He's very calm and sincere. I feel he's a very intelligent person who truely cares for people and likes making people laugh. It's lovely.
I can't imagine a more next-to-ecstatic duo these days; (not forgetting French and Saunders of course!) But, I have only now learned of Russell Brand, and to Dawn interview him increases my barely-well-formed opinion of him! Dawn French lends credience to all true comedians, therefore, he must be brilliant, as I hope to learn more of immediately! From a US fan!
I had no idea how intelligent and eloquent he is with his words. It's stunning. I know he's hilarious. I've never seen this side of him though. He's just serious.
I met him on the premiere night of 'The Dark Knight' outside the IMAX in London. He was gracious and intelligent - conversation lasted about 10 minutes then his girl friend of around that time (the australian actress from Grudge 2) took a group photo of us.
She is great interviewer. Definetly not like the vapid regis and kellys we have here in the us. no offense to them. I think its okay to be 'surface' like them sometimes, but interviews like this really stay with you and i think he truly has wonderful insight and observations to share about life and her questions in this really bring that out. Thanks for posting.
I really do adore Russell Brand. He's had it so tough, and managed to get so far in life in spite of all the difficulties. I love how nice and incredibly eloquent he is, I think we need more of that in the world. That he's practically taught himself all of that is even more brilliant. Can't really say anything other than that while I mourn the single womens collective loss, I do wish him all the luck and happiness in the world with Katy Perry!
See, this is why I like Russell Brand. I could see this through his bluster but noone believes me (and I'm not very good at describing what I think I can see). Thank you for posting this.
I agree. And why was it ok for everyone to make fun of Britney being a virgin or Jessica Simpson even, but he pokes fun at the Jonas Brothers and everyone loses their mind. All the VMA hosts poke fun at their audience. What he said was certainly nothing in comparison to Sarah Silverman's set. He was funny, not cruel. It's called irony and sarcasm and apparently not all of us Americans understand that about Britis humor. I love him. He was the best part of the VMAs
That's an important distinction ! Thank you. I do enjoy his entertaining.I'd even call myself a fan since about '04 but ,to many of his recent fans I say: Use him to feel intelligent.Watch Black Adder and Russell and pay attention, learn a little from their throwaway factoids but please, do also read real news media, history, science, world events :D According to Russell, much of Essex is like him, most namely the YT celebrity Sophie Grace. Even at her young age, I'd agree.
sometimes when you listens to someone who spews bullocks and passive aggressive sentiments it gets tiresome..but w/Russel is like listening to a music box that can be intriquing.
WHAT? HE WAS ON BIG BROTHER? I was half way through this interview when I read the description. Is it true? Is there footage on youtube of him in big bro?
It's ironic how his early life perfectly explains the Hemingway reference about sentimentality at the beginning of the interview. "...murdering birds and newts under the guise of love." I'm sorry if this posted twice.
This is an amazing interview. People think that he's such an idiot or a joke, but he is incredibly intelligent, eloquent, and self-aware. I love him :) ps- what's with the England v. US thing? Sure, Americans can be idiots. But not all of us are! Let's play nice and get along
It annoys me how people think hes just some kind of scarecrow prat, he's actually an extremely intelligent, witty and well spoken man. Not to mention hilarious and sexy.
@kronz21 I did type Attention Deposit HYPERACTIVE Disorder. But yeah, Dane Cook for sure. lol. ADD is kinda the same. They just crave attention. Being hyperactive is usually a way to get peoples attention. But you're totally right.
@kronz21 Adults with ADD/ADHD often have difficulty staying focused and attending to daily, mundane tasks. For example, you may be easily distracted by irrelevant sights and sounds, quickly bounce from one activity to another, or become bored quickly. Symptoms in this category are sometimes overlooked because they are less outwardly disruptive than the ADD/ADHD symptoms of hyperactivity and impulsivity-but they can be every bit as troublesome. Got it from some site. lol basically the same.
@bonheurbrun Haha! Seriously?? He said it was because of Blackadder! Maybe you never had it in Canada. It was a British sitcom starring Rowan Atkinson. Each series of it was set in a different historical period. So the language was pretty formal and that's what he means when he says that watching it gave him his ability with English! Look it up. :)
I really think this man is one of those things in life that make me glad to be alive
I absolutely adore the way he speaks. His use of the english language is so refreshing!
People underestimate Russel's intelligence. He is so intellectually smart it's incredible. He has a very philosophical outlook on life
I do thank you so very very much for having recorded and then uploaded these splendid materials that unveil MR Russell Brand's exquisite honesty that is one of his psychological traits, we, his devotees value the most : his capacity to present himself naked to the very core unto our very eyes. RUSSELL IS SUCH A GENIUS. He is really mellifluous with words and the language that it's almost impossible to stop listening to him!
The most honest interview i've ever seen of Russel, loved it
I agree. I think this one of his best interviews because she's really lovely. Not judged, seems to get him. Very warm. I'd love it if she interviewed him agin.
i think this is the most honest genuine interview i've seen from anyone. its fantastic.
this is my favourite interview of russell; he is so calm and honest and not trying to sidetrack and confuse dawn french, maybe because he feels her to be his equal.
Very good, deep questions, and beautiful answers. Not like the usual commercial interviews where you predict what questions are going to be asked.
Simply lovely to listen to. I love his use of language, its so beautiful.
Russell Brand is so fantastic. I love it that in all of the interviews I've seen him do, he always refers to the interviewer by name, seems like such a personable, nice person not to mention hilarious ;)
two brilliant people talking together is just incredibly brilliant!
Rusty rocks the beanie
I just adore him so much.
"i think that laughter is a response to fear, and i think that we're all afraid of the knowledge that one day we're going to die and when you laugh, temporarily you're relieved and unburdened from the knowledge of the inevitability of death and your united by something"
@3:18 - 3:40 This is the best description of what laughter is all about that I have ever heard. It is very profound.
the way he speaks is beautiful. He uses big words and knows what hes talking about.
And he talks in circles but still makes sense. Hes so pretty when hes just being himself..
His Booky Wook was a fantastic read, i found it inspiring.
He's so lovely in this interview, you really get to see a different side to him :)
the part about the kitten is brilliant - iv always wondered about it but iv never been able to articulate it so succinctly, that was awesome!!
Wonderful interview....thanks for this.
There are plenty of people in the U.S. like me who love this guy!
I really like this interview. He's very calm and sincere. I feel he's a very intelligent person who truely cares for people and likes making people laugh. It's lovely.
TV is very underrated for the amount of knowledge you can actually get from it, that's for sure.
The video starts of with something I've been curious of myself. How he gets his gift of language. His answer to that made me laugh :)
what he said about laughing allowing death to be non-existent and unifying people: very true. very great statement!! laughter is beautiful
I can't imagine a more next-to-ecstatic duo these days; (not forgetting French and Saunders of course!) Thank you so much for the interview! He is brillant.
oh Russell you make my heart beat grow faster faster! I have immense respect and so much love for him. How can you not?
He's surprisingly insightful
I had no idea how intelligent and eloquent he is with his words. It's stunning. I know he's hilarious. I've never seen this side of him though. He's just serious.
.. this man is such an inspiration. So deep and smart.
Interesting interview.
What's with the hand gestures from Dawn though?! They're rather weird at times.
I met him on the premiere night of 'The Dark Knight' outside the IMAX in London. He was gracious and intelligent - conversation lasted about 10 minutes then his girl friend of around that time (the australian actress from Grudge 2) took a group photo of us.
Luvs me some Russell Brand and I'm an American...He's frickin' hilarious...one of the very best...keep doin' it man!
He's so beautiful
What a great interview
Dawn French is a great interviewer
comedians being as observant as they are is no accident
i love them both so much!
She is great interviewer. Definetly not like the vapid regis and kellys we have here in the us. no offense to them. I love his personalty
It is a beauty!
Love him! And that lady is so lovely! Great interview! Thanks :)
I love them both...(: Dawn & Russell rock!

My two favourite comedians...

Fantastic interview indeed.
He's deep and gorgeous and I absolutely can't help but love him...
I agree. And why was it ok for everyone to make fun of Britney being a virgin or Jessica Simpson even, but he pokes fun at the Jonas Brothers and everyone loses their mind. I think she's asking some reallly good interview questions. I've kind of wondered about all of these things...
How in gods name can you dislike this video after watching it...!
iv met him and shook his hand he came to people have his gig in notts!
Heh, I played Fat Sam in my school's production of Bugsy Malone too.
Great interview.
brilliant interview, what a funny man
That's an important distinction ! Thank you.

According to Russell, much of Essex is like him, most namely the YT celebrity Sophie Grace. Even at her young age, I'd agree.
Hemingway actually said of his father "he was sentimental, and, like most sentimental people, he was both cruel and abused". Read a book, Russ
I FUCKING LOVE his reaction to "slingbacks"!
sometimes when you listens to someone who spews bullocks and passive aggressive sentiments it gets tiresome..but w/Russel is like listening to a music box that can be intriquing.
He is absolutely insane. and brilliant. and a genius.
i love that bit at 6:40 so funny,he's amazingggggg
dawn and russell are legends :D
Is the woman interviewing him from the British comedy, the Vicar of Dibley?
So nice said.
My God he's intelligent!
I can really relate with this guy.
Alas, apparently I missed the boat that was headed in the direction of fame and fortune.
WHAT? HE WAS ON BIG BROTHER? I was half way through this interview when I read the description. Is it true? Is there footage on youtube of him in big bro?
@claymax420
the interviewer is Dawn French, a comedy legend, have some respect!
He really is a smart guy, and very open minded.
"and remind me not to let you... cat.. sit... for me..." haha
Luv u Russell!!!
i can't understand what he says sometimes, but its clear he's more intelligent than a first impression would tell you
It's ironic how his early life perfectly explains the Hemingway reference about sentimentality at the beginning of the interview.
"...murdering birds and newts under the guise of love."

@Janusha thank you
Only the Insane Ones see him- the actually spiritually sane- Insane!
@1:25 He has it backward: cruel, mean people tend to swing to sentimentality, it's as close as they get to being sorry.
It annoys me how people think hes just some kind of scarecrow prat, he's actually an extremely intelligent, witty and well spoken man. Not to mention hilarious and sexy.
Russel Brand is absolutley gorgeus and the funniest person on tv x
Couldn't agree more.
@Rickashay18 Me too... learning about what he was like at a child was cool
@kronz21 I did type Attention Deposit HYPERACTIVE Disorder. But yeah, Dane Cook for sure. lol. ADD is kinda the same. They just crave attention. Being hyperactive is usually a way to get peoples attention. But you're totally right.
Damn, my favorite intelligent comedy people. He is Brilliant and Dawn is hot
There's somthing on tv about him at about 12:00 am and i cant watch it because my airiel just broke :(
"It's hard cos they won't eat nothing-contrary little git" LOL!!!
ahaha dog in the playground xD I loved that too
She's completely flirting with him, it's hilarious!
@FreewheelinLibertine Franz Kafka, a german author. read Metamorphosis, its only short :)

Got it from some site. lol basically the same.
I didn't know he was smart. ;/ He's perfect! ;o
Is it possible to break the like button?? I love Russell Brand to hell
I agree.
"she" is Dawn French, a well known comedian herself
He's so honest ain't he. Like in Booky Wook.
@bonheurbrun Haha! Seriously?? He said it was because of Blackadder! Maybe you never had it in Canada. It was a British sitcom starring Rowan Atkinson.
