  • Apple has slowly been falling behind in the AI race. Or have they? Behind the scenes, it seems like Apple may be the leader in AI technology. They've spent billions in the AI space and have had some pretty big breakthroughs at their AI research facilities. But when will we see it? And more importantly, what does AI mean for the future of Apple?

    i dont think apple will depend on Google for its AI
    No one knows why 20% of Apple's M1 processor power is dedicated to artificial intelligence, when in fact they have been preparing something big for a long time.
    But they started working on the LLM model only recently after the huge uproar caused by chatgpt

    • @VeenitXSheth
      @VeenitXSheth  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      yeah they definitely won't in the long run. There could be a slight chance just for the near future but no, they've definitely been making something big behind the scenes

    What Apple processors will support new AI features in iOS 18? Is the A14 Bionic one of them? The iOS 18 system will support devices from iPhone XS and up, but that doesn't necessarily mean all its features (especially when asking about AI) will be supported on all devices that support iOS 18! The A18 processor will focus on the neural engine core for deep learning AI to support offline AI processing on the phone with the upcoming AI breakthrough in iOS 18. To see the leap in Apple processors, the A16 could perform 17 trillion operations per second with its neural engine cores, while the A17pro can do 35 trillion. Both have 16 cores, but Apple is heavily invested in developing the AI engine cores. A18 will also be a qualitative leap, running large LLM models on the phone without internet connection, which is great. I wonder and hope if these upcoming AI features will be supported by the iPhone 12 mini, which also has 16 neural engine cores but can only produce 11 trillion operations per second.

    • @VeenitXSheth
      @VeenitXSheth  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I honestly don’t know which chips Apple will support. I’m sure they won’t limit the new AI capabilities to just the iPhone 16’s and the A18 chip but I’m not sure how far back they’ll go. My guess would be that they will allow these features on any iPhone that is capable of running iOS 18 as that would be the most fair to users. But we will see in a month or two I guess!

      @@VeenitXSheth I don't think so. There are many features in the latest iOS that are not supported by all iphones that run it
      The AI features that will work on the Neural Engine chip are a different case, as they depend entirely on the neural engine to work offline, which varies greatly from one processor to another.
      Personally, I think that the A12, A13, and A14 processors will support some light AI features integrated into the system.
      As for the upcoming revolutionary AI feature, it will only work with A15 and above, because the A15 contains 15 trillion operations per second, which is a big difference from lower processors.
      Perhaps the rest of the phones that support IOS18 are still able to run this new revolutionary AI, but over the Internet
      But as I said, my friend, everything will be revealed at the WWDC conference
      I hope you will upload more similar videos, thank you

    • @VeenitXSheth
      @VeenitXSheth  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    • @VeenitXSheth
      @VeenitXSheth  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      if they use Gemini, yeah prob. But if they develop their own AI model fully and integrate it well, I don't think it's exactly what Samsung did. They are relying on Google for their generative AI stuff, but Apple has had other types of AI (image processing, keyboard, etc) for a while. Idk we shall see at WWDC since they are likely going to talk about AI then

      @@VeenitXSheth I think it does matter that we have a company that's not like apple Apple's really proprietary and they tend to exclude things and make things a pretty bad experience for any other company or people that do not use their products. I'd take openai over apple in a heartbeat
      So if Apple wins it's actually a loss for me cuz I'm not going to switch their products even if they have far superior model. So I'd rather just have it be a company I can actually use

    • @VeenitXSheth
      @VeenitXSheth  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@CommentGuard717 that's fair. But at the same time, for someone like me who uses many Apple products, it benefits me if Apple "wins" or makes something that may only work for me since I use an Apple device. I get the point that Apple can be very much like a walled garden and nothing can pass between, but I think they are working at least the slightest bit to improve this (even if it comes at the hand of the EU) like introducing RCS soon or for example allowing you to connect many different apps to Apple TV. Like getting NBA info and stuff from Prime Video for example is kinda nice even if its still on the Apple TV app.
      I think that companies like Apple should co-exist with companies like OpenAI or Google. That way users can get both experiences and both companies can still push each other to make the best products possible. But just my opinion!

    • @CommentGuard717
      @CommentGuard717 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@VeenitXSheth It really doesn't matter for me as a power user. I mostly use AI through the apis and I also use Linux and I have a custom ROM on my Android basically the exact opposite of your average Apple user. The fact that I even use TH-cam is pretty uncommon for my type of people

    • @VeenitXSheth
      @VeenitXSheth  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@CommentGuard717 yea then in your case its better to use OpenAI. But for most people including many devs, they don't use AI through the api's.
