Like many other iconic tunes Dame Shirley Bassey seems to have made this her own! This particualar performance has so much energy it remains my all time favourite. I had her whole Glastonbury performance in saved at one time, sadly it has been taken down. The most incredible reality of watching the Glastonbury festival which truly demonstrated her enduring appeal is the vast age differences in the crowd. There were many people in the crowd young enough to be her Grandchildren or Great Grandchildren, but having said that their cheering and admiration for her performances demonstrates listening to our parents or grandparents music can greatly influence our musical choices and icons.

I don’t think it’s painful at all - I think DSB has maintained and strengthened her instrument beautifully over the years, and I think she has always been beautiful, even now in her 80s
decorden, Bassey has NEVER been in the same vocal company as Patti Labelle or Whitney Houston...she IS over the top in a cringeworthy way like Celine Dion however....she is a Dame in Your country , Not ours ...never would happen !!
All you people in Wales have lost it !! Bassey is a over the top , second rate cabaret singer who belongs on a Cruise ship or at a crowded Karoake bar, so you don't have to hear her ..or better yet , at a Drag Queen show....amazingly awful, really!!
Dame Shirley Bassey is an Outstanding performer, no one need be cruel. Much like her contemporaries, Patti Labelle, Whitney Houston, and Celine Dion; Ms. Bassey is a great "belter." Many new singers can't get their voice past the front row without a microphone.
