Tari Wira Bhuwana

This dance has been choreographed by Ni Madé Pujawati to music composed by I Nengah Susila for Lila Cita during lockdown in 2021, and represents the battle against Covid-19 in three scenes:
Firstly, an environmentalist pleads with a corporate investor to think of the future of the planet (bhuwana) but is ignored. Then Covid strikes, devastating communities, and Balinese villagers rush to temples to pray for salvation. Finally, Covid viruses run riot globally. Heroic (wira) scientists develop mRNA vaccines which target the rampant viruses, but a few variants escape and mutate. Meanwhile big business celebrates as vaccines bring enormous profits.
