I'm wondering why in an advert for black diamond one of the chaps is wearing a sweet strutter helmet (heavy and not as comfortable as the bd vapour helmets and the fixed peak is surely a hazard in a fall?)
Mulkey always wears one - maybe for the brim? Not sure, you’d have to ask him why. I know he’s a paddler too - he’s done a bunch of first descents in WY
Seems to be the style for ice climbers. Bring keeps ice out of your face.
I own a sweet helmet super nice for paddling, but i wouldn't wear it climbing. I feel like its meant for slow speed repetitive hits like being upside down and hitting your head on a couple rocks. Rock helmets would definitely disperse energy better.
