People often wonder how we Jaunsaris are able to preserve our culture so well despite modern socioeconomic development. For them a simple answer is taking pride in your culture. We prefer our traditional attire during our festivals and marriage programs. Specifically our women. A large section of population of this community doesn't live here permanently because some are employees some are students who are outside of the area but whenever there is a festival or marriage we don't miss chance to visit our villages.
Of course many of us too have bought houses in vikasnagar dehradun or even in delhi too but that doesn't mean we have left our Ancestral homes to ruins like we see in the gadhwaal and kumaun.
Hope we and our next generation keep this love for this land and culture.

If I were younger I would go to Uttarakhand to soak in the culture and the beautiful scenery but I will just have to be happy and be thankful you tube is letting me enjoy Uttarakhand from far away.

It's not just the attire that is fascinating but the whole culture based on community bonding. Though it used be same in all over uttarakhand and Himachal unfortunately only Jaunsaris succeeded preserving it in it's whole.
