Red and Black are suppose to be the HOT Leads and you should had combined green and white to neutral/ground. That would had been code. Your Welder run's on 2 Leads and a neutral/ground. I do use a 50AMP plug since all my power sources are 50AMP outlets in the shop and out back as well as on our welding trucks.

That's the wrong plug and receptacle for a welder. This welder requires a 50 amp circuit. You have a 30 amp dryer plug.
