Re the engine I would love to go old school and see a Mopar RB/440 Wedge based stroker cam shootout. Stroker cams seem to sort out the men from the boys when it comes to cam choice.

I seem to remember that when you first proposed this challenge you expected "maybe 3 cams", I guess you could say the response exceeded expectations! Very happy Visard got in and the reasoning why was totally legit. I love how this whole thing has morphed into something that has generated a lot of excitement and interest in your channel and would have never happened if you hadn't just been your forthright self.

I’m a Honda dealer service manager and a Toyota Master Technician and I drive a 2018 Silverado 6.2 and my wife drives a 2021 Chevy Blazer , Our boat is a 24 HTM SS w / blown 540 anyway the import cars are no better than GM , anyway love your channel and the information you provide , I build around 10 engines a year all big block Chevy primarily for boats although my favorite engine is the 351 Cleveland , can’t wait to see the cam that wins this competition I use Erson 90% of the time but did buy 4 Cam Motion cams last year with great performance all 4 were low lash solids , use to use Bullet but I’m not paying for a reputation I’ve made just as good power with the other guys it’s all in the combo and lobe profile etc , I am highly interested in vizards entry since he has been very critical of the cams recommend by pretty much all of the cam companies and I can see why anyway love your work and sharing it with us Thank you
More camshafts should mean more information so I cant imagine anyone would complain. Judging by how much interest this has generated Id say this whole thing is very appreciated.

I can see how some will complain about the hurricain and substitution and you will probably get some of that. However, I am totally ok with both. I would bet most agree DV raises the intrest level because of his claims whether you support him or not. I am looking forward to see the results! Awesome!

There are a lot of smart people, but good God, the amount of trashing on Yellow Bullet and Speed Talk is funny! We don’t see anyone else donating their engine or anything g to do something similar, yet talk trash about “how it should be done!”

Your all videos are full of details and info and what is hard to find and yet in a illustrative form. So big thanks! Still if you’re seeking ways to improve your videos you might want to add mic to your gear. It might help to tackle that echo in your workshop that sometimes makes it hard to hear what you’re saying. In case you wanna benchmark please watch for example Ron Spomer videos.

My buddy who builds engines uses bullet camshaft and I was trying to convince him or have him contact bullet to enter the competition but oh well he didn't want to I guess. But hell yeah pretty cool stuff on camshaft
I am very interestwd to see what Gwatney and Vizard sent in and hiw it does. I have seen Gwatney make some impressive power with LS3s so, I imagine they will do well. Wish I could have thrown an entry in, hopefully you will do this again next year. An L8T 6.6L or 7.3L Godzilla would be an interesting mule, especially since there isn't nearly as much testing avaliable from aftermarket and performance shops.

Boy did I do some stupid stuff in those SLOW cars!

You could make sure his videos only released the info you want revealed before your videos come out.
Great way to collect a whole heap of cam profiles for future builds, peoples ego’s got the better of them and now they are sending cam profiles to a bloke at their own expense which will just give Eric a whole heap of data at much less cost to himself, well played Eric 👍👍
@@WeingartnerRacing it’s not a negative accusation. Are you supplying all the data from timing changes, air fuel changes and so on per cam or just the set rules data? I would be very surprised if you don’t do timing and fuel sweeps with each cam profile to collect that data.
Hi Eric, I'm not certain how much information will be available on the the camshafts characteristics will be available but I'd be interested in the idle speed and vacuum at idle of each camshaft. Is there an accurate way to determine the volumetric efficiency throughout the rpm ?
You did good on the older car you can fix anything on it the new cars with high compression aren’t built to last the motors are maxed out from the factory turbos and high compression they feel fast but engine will wear out fast
Would be interesting to grind a cam at the end....where the 4 winning profiles are all used. Based on firing order.....do peak hp, peak torque, ave hp, ave torque...then repeat for the last 4 cylinders. Im not an engine builder, but curious if this would give a bit of the best of them all.

I work on those a lot. I will say they are good as long as you stay hard on oil changes. The timing chain and guides will crap out if you don’t. I’ve done dozens…
🌟 They say you can “prove anything with numbers”. How will the averages be calculated? EG Two data points, Max and Minimum Torque/HP in the rev range divided by two …… or more data points, say every 500 RPM divided by the number of data points. The options are endless but the area under the curve might be better represented by more data points than two. I take it that the best cam for peak HP/Torque will be given 23 points and the worst will be given 1 …. Is that what you intend?

Nice Camaro!!! The LFX is a great motor. Total cost of ownership will be way less than a Japanese car.

Although you are correct. Everyone gets the same data. If I had planned it like you accuse I would have selected a set of my ported heads.

🌟 They say you can “prove anything with numbers”. How will the averages be calculated? EG Two data points, Max and Minimum Torque/HP in the rev range divided by two …… or more data points, say every 500 RPM divided by the number of data points. The options are endless but the area under the curve might be better represented by more data points than two. I take it that the best cam for peak HP/Torque will be given 23 points and the worst will be given 1 …. Is that what you intend?
As said in video average between 4000 and 7000 with each 100rpm being a data point.
