  • Los Angeles Fire Department works a 200' x 150' one-story metal clad commercial structure on the 1600 block of E 14th St. The fire also extended into an auto storage facility. Knockdown was achieved in 83 minutes.

    The heat must be insane. All metal clad, the inside becomes an oven. And you never really know what is inside.

      Basically what the other comments are saying they're trying to make another access point to access the fire and also have a other way to get out in case something bad happens

      Those are decorative graffiti panels attached to the roll up doors.... this FF is removing them and then cutting man way access doors through the steel overhead doors, so hoselines can be advanced inside the building.

    The really tough job in fire fighting is wildland fire fighting. Being a city FF is quite easy.
    The fly knew his place.

      I don’t think that any kind of firefighting is ‘easy.’ Think before writing such foolishness. Then, show some respect for the people who are prepared to put themselves in danger, every day that they go to work.

      These firefighters also do wild land fire fighting…there are wild lands in and surrounding the city.

    How are you LA guys able to get so close to the operations? If I got that close in my county, I'd probably be arrested.

      In many Canadian cities it is cordoned off for two blocks around and no one can get close within that area.
