Nat Jackson ...Well, you’d have to be exposed to the type of herpes virus that attacks the eyes, nose, & mouth. One can be exposed & decades later get a cold sore. Zoe gets multiples & almost monthly. It can be passed on to her nether region. But don’t want to think about that.

THANK YOU SIS! I'm glad that someone on this platform has the backbone to point these things out to content creators, because it's honestly what most of them need to hear, and I honestly don't even think that they know how truly awful and boring it can get to watch the same thing over and over again! I personally had to take a break from youtube because I had too much going on with college, I'm in my school musical, and because of all that I don't think it's realistic for me to try and provide quality content when I'm getting home at like 8 every night. Plus, I usually put a ton of heart and effort into my content and my editing, which can take a serious amount of my time to do, so I'm taking a break until next quarter. The most important thing that you can do as a creator is to do whatever you can to make your content at the peak level, and I think these people honestly need to reassess their priorities. I mean look at shane, emma, the dolan twins, Antonio Garza, you, etc.... These creators all give themselves breaks in between projects, especially big ones. I say do what is best for your content, even if it means telling your audience that you need a little break to catch up on things. The most likely thing to happen is an overwhelming amount of support. Your audience just wants to see your content grow, so why would they be negative about it? If they really love you as a creator, they'll wait it out for ya.
A good reaction channel is also Dazgames. He's hilarious. Also, you look a lot like Lillia buckingham it's scary
The only original reaction content surrounding music video I've seen is a group of people reacting to music videos and they specifically go into detail with the music, talking about music theory and what they found interesting, pointing out tropes, etc, basically educating people the kind of music theory that exists in the music.
It’s so cool to hear your accent and like hear my own voice be so so different. I just had an epiphany about how so many people can be from the same country or even town or city and all talk so differently .

I agree with you! One channel I recently discovered is Safiya Nygaard. To me she's a very good example of content that could be very lazy actually being VERY well done. She does a lot of research for her videos and comes up with new ideas when a lot of people with similar channels are doing the exact same thing very time they post.

What annoys me even more about these fast fashion hauls is that literally no one "reviewing" the garments has any idea what they're talking about! Everything is "cute" or they "really like it" or "it's nice quality material" or well made and like btch, you would not know what good quality clothing is. Let's not forget the hyper-consumeristic lifestyle they're endorsing to younger audiences.
exactly! thank you! every time i see wish, zaful, fashion nova and any other cheap brand hauls it irritates me bc i know ppl in the comments who like any of the pieces would wanna buy them as well. and yes, not many people (like myself -- and hopefully that changes as i get older) have a choice but to buy fast fashion bc maybe where they dont have any other shops there with clothes they like, they dont have enough money for anything else, shopping online can be rough or no thrift shops. but so see big youtubers waste their money on fast fashion just for a video and talk about how "surprisingly high quality" it all is... and i- i just-... lol i guess, i'm not that surprised when they do gucci hauls and still buy the tackiest and cheaply made looking pieces.

Oh god... i hate reaction channels :'D (certain types of them). It's really annoying how they can get so much profit from using other peoples hard work (to react to) and give half assed to no opinions at all xD.
I hate those channels where it’s just a massive group of guys sitting on a sofa ‘reacting’ to music. They literally all sit there and nod their head along and say something at the end that makes no sense. Literally what they’ve done is turned the camera on, sat down, played the song, bopped their head a bit, turn the camera off, no editing and just uploaded it. 🙄🙄

Alex Meyers is a great “reaction” channel, he draws and compares the social context today with the time the movie/tv show came out. He puts in a lot of work and only “reacts to shows/movies he liked or saw in the past. He does more of a commentary kind of thing on his videos. Also he sometimes does essays about movies and shows.

I love Alex's reaction videos, mainly cause he actually puts effort into animating videos, watching a show/movie to get his thoughts and writes the script every single week. Personally I think he deserves more recognition for that.

Some people really should consider taking a real break from TH-cam or trying out different types of content, it might help their attitude towards their channel and content. This is something I saw work for creators that were Let's Players at first, like PewDiePie, and seeing him this happy again makes me wanna watch his videos even more!

The thing with Cody is that he’s naturally funny, and has an overall entertaining personality. Plus he has a variety of videos like vlogs , podcasts and storytime videos besides his reaction videos, which makes it SO much more entertaining!!!

His older parodies were good. Later on they became lame and dragged out. And in the first place I thought a parody was supposed to be satirical in a stupid and original way, his parodies now just consist of him directly making fun of the star and saying stuff like “This song is so stupid”, “I’m just a crazy whore trying to get views” etc. No originality anymore.
The only reaction channels I watch are when a person of expertise (such as vocal coach reacts to singers or surgeon reacts to hospital scenes) critiques rather than just watching something for a stale, uncreative reaction.

i don't think that every youtube video has to be this great original new thing with lots of hours and sweat behind it, some videos can just be chill and laid back, like that's cool too. it's nice to watch something that you don't really have to think about and actively appreciate, like it's just there and it's nice

oh yeah, i agree with that. I think that there's also this feeling of "this is kinda fake" that always accompanies reaction videos, even if they're honest or whatever. it's still a person consciously choosing to make a video and hoping to get views based off of something else that was already created that probably had a lot more effort put into. idk how to explain it, but it just doesn't feel authentic
if anyone's looking for good commentary channels- drew gooden, danny gonzalez, cody ko, eddy burback, leon lush, kurtis conner, ryan trahan, and ryan yerrow are really really great and i hella recommend!!

I completely agree with everything you said, also I would add the "storytime" based channels, for me once or twice or even three times a youtuber tells an interesting story THAT IS REAL AND ACTUALLY HAPPENED it's fine and it can be pretty entertaining but when every single video is a storytime and this person turns on their camera, sits on the bed and talks for 40 min about something that happened in their life, always oversharing and exaggerating is insane,seeing people like Tana do that lazy ass shit and get subscribers and money out of it is mind blowing

A very underrated TH-cam who has been on TH-cam for years and just recently got a million subscribers is Kickthepj. He's really creative,funny, does amazing skits, etc.

In my opinion , both channels arent dying. Compared to her older videos like a year ago , her videos are getting alot more views rn.
She has definitely worked hard, but I feel awkward about her more than ever now. Mainly because she’s shown us all how vain she really is. I wonder about how bad her food restricting used to be, to be so underweight. (She recently admitted the underweight part). She also sounds delusional about her relationships. Certainly I can’t be the only one who thinks that Eric & Cory sneak off together. If Cory doesn’t move out soon, then all the more awkward. Eric seems roped in for the money. I feel bad for her. But I won’t feel bad for her when she exploits her child online for money for the years to come! All signs point to that being her direction. Laws must change to protect children’s privacy!

I don't like vlogs at all. It just seems like they're showing you that their lives are amazing. Do they think that their target audience can afford to buy all that stuff? Like even hauls I can not watch because you cannot buy anything they get so it's pointless to watch them.
I get what you mean and agree for the most part, but there are a couple of good, genuine vloggers out there that show you that life isn't full of sunshine and daisies. Off the top of my head I can think of LiveEachDay and Pocketful of Primary.

I found your channel recently and I wanted to say that I'm impressed at how articulate you are and how you make your points across, while being a fun channel. I'm 30 so TH-cam wasn't popular until I was in uni, so I "missed" a lot of the trends of the golden era; I just didn't care much about YT and never understood the whole idolizing youtubers thing. But still I do watch lots of YT because it is an amazing platform (I mostly watch educational/science channels) and you've make me think a lot about its problems, which I guess I understood it in an implicit way, but haven't rationalized yet. It's incredible how many people become rich by doing this kind of crappy, lazy videos!

*Alfie is one of those guys who has good intentions but is so damn naive... and Zoella is lazy no doubt but I commend her on her cordially invited book, she never leaves her house so its fitting that she made a book that supports that lifestyle. This is her only project that has made sense to me.*

I feel like Zoella's fame influenced him a lot. If zalfie hadn't happened, I could see his youtube "career" being more genuine for far longer than it was. But zalfie became youtube royalty partially because of Zoella's popularity, and they have real cushy lives now and therefore feel like they don't have to put in a lot of effort anymore. If Alfie had to grow his channel like most people, I think his content and personality would've been very different tbh.
DreamOnAStarXx it is interesting to think about. Alfie has said that he's not driven by money at all, and judging by some of his silly mistakes he's made, he might be right. But i still very much think he finds the idea of making money from TH-cam very attractive and highly loves the attention from it. Like he's incredibly self centered. I'm sure the idea of him and Zoe joining forces seemed pretty damn attractive in his mind. He loves business after all. The life he has would not be all possible without her
I don't mind reaction channels when it's the occasional person who actually knows what they're talking about and has decent comments to make- especially about things I wouldn't have noticed before. I fucking hate them when it's just someone either silently watching a video or just screeching. Or when they just make a video to pander to a fan base (for example reacting to a music video and just saying how great it is with no other comment, to get views from the fans of the artist).
ikr I'm really into reaction channels but only when they have something relevant to say. For example, when professionals react to things, like vocal coaches who explain how different techniques work when singing or point out curious things I wouldn't have notice otherwise, or those videos where professionals from different jobs react to tv shows (like doctors and medical shows).
God, I love your videos. You're so honest and (like you said) you're not here to make friends. You voice your opinion without being scared of the backlash, and it's something I kind of miss in TH-cam content now.

I’ve said it before but I’m so in love with your content, you’re the only other person I know that’s just so fed up with TH-cam content, I completely agree with everything you say and would love to talk to you about a youtuber that I’ve said before is my all time favourite but now really really bugs me because of her content. I agree with the reaction channels to a point. Yea most reaction channels are basically reuploads but there are some reaction commentary (inabber, memeulous WillNE and others) that react to other TH-cam videos and still give there own spin and opinions. As long as your opinions aren’t shit and you don’t just sit there watching full video silently it doesn’t matter what you react to.
