My dad actually came up to me and was like -- yeah shit I was well off. I could just work a mediocre job, get a car, get a house and STILL have money for going out and doing crazy things. I had a very carefree early adulthood then. And none of my uncles/aunts were highly educated, just decent and crafty people. That was enough then!
And it was the same in the 50's, only instead of just having spare money for yourself, it could keep a household of 5 entertained. Inflation is fucking crazy. It's not enough if you're a boss now to make twice as much as the employees below you, and the 80's was the shifting point.
my grandfather just straight up gave my dad a house when he got married lol not a huge house -but a house... having zero rent is a crazy leg up when you are starting off..

You know, it's obviously meant to have a VHS feel to it, but I originally was gonna go for a modern and crisp look for the video... That is until I realized how shit my green screening was with no lighting set up and 2 feet between me and the screen... And then I discovered that 1 VHS effect later all those horrid artifacts blended right in to the random noise! None the less, thank you for your kind words :)
