I love my 0XK concert, good for southern heat, humidity, then indoor AC and heat. I have a tenor Street Master, which I also love. Different animals though, and the C1K and S1K are on my wallet-lightening wish list.
I have tried Worth browns on a Kanilea and they sound awful and they are so soft they are hard to play sometimes. Famous for that. No highs at all. I settled on the same Martin strings you tried on my soprano OXK and I like them. More musical and much less honky sounding than the Nylguts I tried on it. Might try the Worth clears sometime. Or the Uke Logic strings from The Ukulele Site.
Hi Rick. I agree about the Worths as they were “ clearly” different from the rest for the OXK. I would stick with what you have for the other Martin as it sounded very balanced. I have been thinking about an OXK concert myself so this review was worthwhile. As a solid basic instrument, experimenting with strings is worthwhile too. I do have one question. Martins tend to have somewhat narrow nuts. Is this one 35 mm and maybe 27mm string width?
Jeff, thanks! The nut width on the sopranos and concerts tend to be wider than those on the tenors. Weird. This one indeed has a 35 mm nut. String spacing looks like 30 mm G to A. The neck profile isn't flat, but it's not so rounded that it's uncomfortable.

I got a Martin OXK soprano, I like the Martin 600 on it. It sound crisps and clear , not worrrying about humidification. Nice uke for the price.
I have to agreet with you! I like the C1-K sound more too. Thank you for this demonstration! Thank you!
Glad you liked it!

Uke Logic and Living Water strings are lovely and provide that uke sound we all want.
