Its those folks who call themselves Catholic by identity because of family background, but don't actually practice Catholicism and understand it from an intellectual perspective.

@@joeymolitoris8302 But then War is a sin, perhaps even having an army is a sin. Modern medicine has saved FAR more children than are being "aborted". I lost my great aunt in November 1923: she and her baby died because there were no such medical services. Soemtimes to avoid an abortion would be to Kill the mother. I think you need to think a little more about the issue than just what the church does or does not say. Church dogma has changed. Abortions are not new; death during child birth has been common for centuries.... There are many sins: the Church also teaches forgiveness for sin. Perhaps the original condition of humanity is to sin?

I just visited the Vatican and Assisi last week. We as Catholics are not doing enough for God. Politics doesn’t even come close to where we need to be.
As a Catholic with prayers in 2016 I was inspired to vote for Trump. I was shocked that I was asked to vote an immoral person. But I still voted for him. When it came to 2020 with prayers I was inspired not to vote for him and that the reason for voting for him in 2016 was for all the mess and immorality to spill out in Trump and the supporters and overall.

I have cousins who are Catholic. Their dad was Democrat and these cousins still vote Democrat because their now deceased dad did. They claim to be against abortion, illegal imigration, excessive environmental views and policies, spending millions on LGBT programs to advance the teachings of the LGBT in schools, etc. etc... but they still vote Democrat as they continue to volunteer and usher, readings from the Bible during mass, etc... I have tried to explain their vote helps the Democrat cause that goes completely against the teachings and beliefs of the Catholic church, but they just get mad and deny the Democrat party is not at odds with the Catholic church. Pretty sad. But as a Catholic myself, I will be voting Republican, as I have for years.
So a convicted rapist, liar, felon, who mocks disabled people, mocks our soldiers, bankrupted businesses, reignigs on paying bills for campaigns, construction, and employees. Takes in millions from foreign countries, flip flops on abortion,

The best way to stop abortion is not to ban it, it's to provide the healthcare, a living wage, and welcoming spirit when ANY child is born or comes across the border. Immigrant, out of wedlock, whatever. And clear education on sex by the time children are of an age to procreate, say 10 or 11 years old. You want to keep them in the dark? Well, then, you'll be glad abortion is available. The current GOP rhetoric has nothing to do with Jesus's message of loving your neighbor.
