A great watch that I would call 'sleeper watch', that is a watch that is incredible but flies under the radar for most. I've read so many comments by people who are so hung up on water resistance who should be fine to wash hands when wearing this watch... as long as they remember to screw the crowns in. 2000 meters is immense. All the GST case models are amazing. I own the perpetual calendar GST, split second salmon dial also. This model needs to come back with an in-house movement along with all the gst’s.
I think IWC wants to concentrate on Pilots and Portugieser because that is what makes the brand. People typically loves IWC because of their proposition of luxury watch with arabic numerals, simple dial and various complication which is different than Rolex, GS or Omega.
Beautiful IWC nice seeing them push something else besides pilot watches and c'mon man 2000 meters still not deep enough lol jk love how they told the rest of the dive watches to hold our oxygen tanks
I had the watch for a while. It was beautiful design but did not have a reliable movement. The rotor did not wind efficiently. There's also reports the the Supercompressor system failed quite often and the watch was prone to leaking. No wonder IWC changed the design for the follow-up Aquatimer reference.
It is like with the Tudor North Flag - Tudor stopped producing that beauty and just focus on boring Divers....(traget group - people who don't dive :-))))).
Why are major watch brands with a history and tradition of "pedigree" still using ETA/Sellita in a $5k+ watch? This is a head scratcher imo. By now a brand like IWC should be fully in-house, especially something as basic as an time/date only watch.
The bracelet on this watch is nautilus comfort. One of the best out there. The watch itself is tremendous

Bought the steel version 16 years ago and still love it. Super comfy and sturdy beater. Just 1000m WR though…

Hi ben, did IWC repared well the faulted watches, are the problems you mentioned are recurring even after being handled by IWC service?

sometimes i like ETA - cheap to service and maintain. Also, I would assume the majority of the price is due to the 2,000 meter water resistance
