Yes, there are anchovies in classic Cesar dressing. You could just add some marinara and .parm3san and mozzarella on that chicken crust and it'd be like a deconstructed chicken parmesan.

I keep canned chicken/tuna/salmon/sardines in my pantry for power outages/times when I need a quick tasty meal. I love your channel Mel! Can't call you Mama since I'm way older than you..All these recipe/ideas look good.

I just love canned chicken too & can digest it better than most bc its pressure cooked & always tender! Oh the precious few things we have to be careful of for our tender tummys, right? Mine can become like it's got a violent hurricane inside it sometimes! 🤭🤣

Great suggestion! I have LOTS of recipes for canned tuna, I love it maybe even better than canned chicken but it's not quite the blank canvas that chicken is - it has a little more flavor on it's own LOL

I go back next month. I go to the neurologist this Wednesday about the migraines and tumor on my left temporal lobe. That chicken is my favorite.

Mel, I just love this episode so much bc its main ingredients are simple & cheap. I can digest canned Chicken so much better than some other kinds bc its pressure cooked, and 1 can is just enough protein to split into several meals - but I put the chicken in a collander & rinse the salt off of it before I use it, to keep the sodium from getting too high in the end recipe. That Chicken Crust was mind blowing, I'd never imagine something like that or seen any recipes. It has infinite potential for other recipes too. I saw that there was a high pressure over both our states making for some cooler weather even in TN & wondered if God just decided to bless y'all with some Michigan breezes (well, actually Canadian more likely)?! Hope u have a gorgeous week sweet friend!
I'd love to see more recipes with Tuna, Egg Salad, and maybe even a ham spread for Summer open faced sandwiches! Just love them & they're so easy to whip up! I bet if u chopped some ham slices, then shredded cheddar, into cream cheese with green onion & maybe some Apricot Jam to make it less pasty & more juicy (or an Apricot Chutney too?) I have rinsed canned chicken before too and loved the result, some brands seem to be saltier than others... And that little chicken crust salad pizza was just yummy - two of my favs collided LOL And yes, it's much nicer here today, 70s. And I was just asked by another friend for more tuna recipes, lol and I love tuna too! Great minds think alike. I made something similar to this yesterday. I chopped up a zucchini and a small amount of green onions and added it to the chicken and pasta mixture. It was delicious.

I was so excited to see how well your chicken crust turned out and granny's always a blessing to see! I didn't know they put fish in ceasar dressing though! I'll have to tell my husband, he loves it and hates fish! Haha 😄! I love fish and I never make it so he doesn't have to smell it. I just get it from take out, and get him to pick it up from the fish camp, he can suffer a few minutes on my behalf so the whole kitchen don't smell! Lol! The Mac and Cheese Chicken Casserole was excellent and so easy. The only change I made was to use thawed frozen broccoli instead of the peas. Next time, I would definitely add more broccoli and leave off the bread crumbs. 👍👍

I tried a recipe with canned chicken once, and it was so salty that we couldn't eat it. Maybe things have changed since then and it would be better now. Love seeing your Mom on the video. It seems some brands have a saltier taste than others, and I have rinsed the canned chicken before to remove some of that solution and it worked great. Hi Mel! I have a confession to make.... I've never used canned chicken. My sister keeps telling me I need to try it but I never have. After seeing your recipes, I'm going to give it a go! The crust for the Caesar salad is intriguing and looks absolutely yummy. The toasted chicken salad sandwich sounds delicious and I could see myself trying it with different types of bread. And how can you go wrong with a chicken casserole. Thank you, Mel, for all you do. With the rising cost of groceries, canned chicken is an economical way to get protein in meals. I just bought Ken’s Steakhouse Caesar dressing. I love it. I used it to dunk my chicken tenders in. I also have lettuce and tomatoes I just cut up. I’m going to use the dressing for salad too. ! *grin*

I can my own chicken and I save many pennies, lol! I use the broth for soups and the chicken for chix salad, in salads, quesadillas, tacos & even small chicken and dressing or dumplings!!

We have made the chicken pizza crust several times and really like it. I like ie Sam’s canned chicken the best; just chicken and water.
I like Sams canned chicken too, some of them are packed in too much salty water but I have rinsed the chicken before and it helped a lot. This was the first time I made the chicken crust and it was SO GOOD! A keeper for sure! Thanks so much for watching, have a great week!

What brand are the Bowls you use in your recipes? Love them!
Thank you so much, and the blue and white bowls are from Sams Club, I got them there a number of years back. They still have these sets every year but I have never seen this pretty blue design ever again. There are five bowls, all with lids, and they have a silicone ring on the bottom that keeps them from slipping on the counter when you mix in them. They were just $20 or $25 dollars and I also bought a matching set of dishes - big blue dinner plate, small salad plates and bowls that have a design on them, too. All the products are melamine so not dishwasher safe but I love them so much I don't mind to hand wash them. I did find something very similar to mine and I have it in my Amazon storefront in the sections titled "In The Kitchen" LOL here's the link if you'd like to take a look at it. I’m eating low carb and I make pizza with that chicken crust minus the breadcrumbs. I make it thin and crispy. After I bake the crust, I flip it over to add the toppings and put back in the oven. That way, the bottom doesn’t burn. So delicious and filling.
Thanks so much for the tips on how to re-bake it with toppings, me and Maddie wanted to try it like a regular pepperoni pizza this weekend and were talking about how to do it without getting the crust too done. I never even thought about flipping it over LOL Can't wait to try it this weekend!

I found that a couple years ago on clearance at Big Lots, LOL. I am a bargain hunter and I love finding cute things at a great price, usually it's off season so by the time you see it , unfortunately they're not able to be found anymore LOL

I always keep canned chicken breast in my fridge, along with the other ingredients to make chicken salad. It's also wonderful to put in soup, tacos, burritos, whatever .
Yes, me too. I like to keep staple items like this, too. Nothing worse than not having items on hand to whip up a meal at the drop of a hat. I also just go to the store once a week, sometimes even once every 2 weeks, just depending on if I need veggies, milk, and eggs. Do you ever rinse the chicken? I think it has a tinned taste without rinsing, but know it isn't necessary.
I do rinse it sometimes, kinda depends on the brand for me. Some is saltier than others to me and it is a great way to get rid of that solution. Thanks so much for watching.
