🔐Schlage Kwikset Sargent and Yale locks should be used on your own front door. Lock pickers and criminals Will have a hard time picking any of these locks. The only way you can stop brute forced entry is with a good surveillance camera. Subscribe to my locksmith channel to learn more.
Thank you! Great Information here. While I agree that re-pining cam locks is a PIA, I had to re-pin the cam locks for the saddle bags/tour pack on my old classic Harley Davidson (Chicago Lock Co) to retain the visible SN stamped on the face of the locks because the contest judges will mark you down if you install aftermarket locks (that don't have SN's stamped on them).
Yeah, out of necessity you have to do some locks. I found if you just change one wafer and pull one of the wafers out for that new depth on your new key that has just one depth change it went pretty fast hooray for you.❤😂🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
If you're looking for yet another tool specific to rekeying cam locks, Gator makes a Wafer Popper pliers that speeds up inserting and ejecting wafers. It's not essential, but it is handy. Anyway, thanks for all the detail and great lighting and zoomed in camera shots. Great videos.
Thank you for your kind words and advice. I have ordered that tool about a week ago directly from gator. I wanted to have it for the video shoot, but it takes a while to ship it here. Thanks again for your encouragement on the video shoot it is hard to get close-ups, but it seems to be working out. Thanks again.
Definitely want to use the kits that fit their spec brands. I’ve seen people get frustrated and sand a wafer down to fit😂. ESP kit is for ESP/ Hudson series cam locks and the Compx won’t fit those. It’s always a good idea to gather different assortments of locks and kits. Thanks for sharing!
0:13 I hope I never have to pin re-wafer or look at the inside of a cabinet cam lock again what a bunch of junk. It’s just so much easier to buy new, and there is absolutely zero money in rekeying a lock like this, especially knowing that the individuals that purchased and installed that type of lock doesn’t want to spend any money anyway
@@doorandlocktips you should try rekeying ace locks🤣. It’s another one that you can buy cheap but once in a great while it’s just easier to get it done right there… I’m definitely going with the electric one. Just gotta build up some inventory $$$.
Guess what ? because you all helped me out. I have 512 Subscribers now hooray. Here’s the stats: As of May 4, 2023 I have received a total of 512 Subscribers. Thank you All so very much. You don’t know how happy it made me.🎉
Hey Mike, I'm curious how you determined, based upon the markings of the wafer kit, that a #00 Tumbler was the first position and measures .250", a #22 Tumbler was the second position and measures .225 and so on and so on. Is a #00 Tumbler always .250", etc., etc. Where would I locate this information? Any help you could bestow would really be appreciated and thanks for your help.
Call Tech-Support that’s how I called and got all the information they even told me how to decipher there work to use their master key system wafer system you know so call them. They’ll explain it better than I can.
