Absolutely stunning! The quality of high definition cameras and videos today have opened up for us a world that was seemingly hidden to all of us up until now.
I always watch amazed riding the heavy waves with heavy music like SoaD or Delta Parole or with relaxing music videos in background. If crazy like then always heavy tho
Superb, he captured more than just a barrel and some wave vortex... that was truly the feeling of being in a wave. You know it's fast, but you feel otherwise. Silence, space and time get trapped in that vortex, and all you can do for yourself is ride... That's what it's all about...
super slow motion ' I shot it and wasn't sure how good it was but I watched it back and I've still shivers in my spine. It's probably the best shot I've ever gotten, without a doubt.' your are the best !!!!
To anyone wondering why this isn't FHD or even HD(although upscaled) - the camera used was an NAC Memrecam FX K5 Color. It has a 1280x1024 sensor, and it shoots only at 1000 frames per second at that res.
I wouldnt say 12 FT is a monster barrel but still pretty impressive and the quality is amazing. You got to love super slow mo everything always looks better in it.
This video has been selected by the channel as one of the best TV videos on TH-cam and was added to the channel's playlist accordingly. Thanks for sharing. Regards, bestofYTchannel
I watched this video again and agains and again, it has incredible quality! I think this was shot with a $100,000 high-speed camera called the Typhoon HD4
I never seen enything most amazing in my hole life, this slow motion camera do his job i guess...but also the surfer...just breathtaking...I usually...just wach them...but now I really would like to start surfing ...lol
Dylan longbottom is one of the craziest big wave surfer at the moment... The first to use this kind of technology to make slow-motion water shots was George Greenough who take a nasa camera to adapt it to shoot in the water... Now the technology is more adaptated and more efficient. But the risk is always the same !! The shallow reef under you, the fins of the board and the masse of water overhead, and the danger of the next waves comming right where you are....Great respect for these guys!!
@BasiaOwczarek The shot was taken with a highspeed camera [Typhoon HD4] in an underwater housing and shot with 500 frames per second. Bali was swimming in the wave, holding the camera in his hands. See pictur of the uw-camera: highspeed-camera net
