I love watching your videos amigo. I love that you honor your teachers and your open mindedness. Personally i seriously trained two arts seven star mantis and xingyi. But ive played with many different arts and each gave me some jewel to make me a better martial artist. Keep on keeping on brother.

Bruce was so prolific that people today who live in a very insecure, tough guy society, feel better about themselves through talking trash. That's the only way they can feel their fragile egos are secure. Sad.

BS, actually people that say this is old enough to know better. People like Van Damme get no recognition nowadays yet was 10 times the fighter than Bruce Lee was. In all the years Bruce Lee trained he never fought, never with an opponent. No, Bruce Lee was not a great fighter, he was a great actor just like his nunchuck film. That was an allusion. It’s not trash talk, it’s fact ! I looked up to Lee as a kid, I still do, but he was not a fighter. Fighters are not afraid to be hit.

@@user-zx7eo7nu4b I am glad someone realized that Bruce was not who he wanted ppl to believe he was. In an interview, he said he didn't know that it was going to go this far. This means he did not know the Triads were (domiciled at Harvest Studio to wash money) going to pick him up and make him a cash cow.
But he was afraid to compete bc of the beatings he took from 12-16 by the 8th Street Junction tigers who had vowed to kill him if they ever saw him on the streets of Hong Kong.
His father put him on the next train (plane) smoking out of China to America. I wrote the truth about Bruce that I got from True Triad Martial Artists. I entitled the book "What "really" happened to Jun Fun Li?" He was a paper tiger.

On the centre line. Off the centre line. Completely natural. That’s the VT journey. JKD is 80% Ving Tsun. Bruce’s VT was excellent. As a Martial Artist, he was exceptionally talented, but it was hard work that made him the legend he has become. And deservedly so.
    Great interview.

Bruce ask Yip Man for teaching him "Fa jin" expressed on MYJ . Bruce know the MYJ external form and Wong Shun Leung , William Cheung , Duncan Leung and other friend exchange information about Wing Chun . Also if you look careful in the movie Enter the dragon you will see some moves from Biu Jee . People believe Bruce Lee real fighting are looking like his movies ...lol. I think he don't give you any chance and will be very quick . If you search on utube you will find Phoebe Lee (Bruce sister) who talk in a weird "chinglish" about how Bruce demonstrate her and talk about "chi" and practical use in martial art . So , SIGONG BRUCE LEE deserve a place in a lineage of Grandmasters of Wing Chun !

There is a natural boxing style that relies on improvised forms, rather than prearranged forms. Lee probably would have liked this style. I don't recall the name of this style, and practitioners from various other styles arrived in the US over the years after Lee's passing. In one of his early ch'i sao videos, it almost appears as though he's using silk reeling energy, which is something that Chen style taiji quan is known for. Maybe he figured some things out on his own, and learned a number of things from others as well.

The thing is that reality based arts and sports don't look good and Bruce Lee said and taught that. Like Adam Chan stated do research before forming an opinion ladies and gentlemen. As far as contribution goes the only "full contact" in the west at that time was boxing, judo and wrestling(grappling in general) everything else up till late 70's maybe was point based ineffective stuff which gave not only bad name but also even worse trained practitioners in karate and most martial arts. Bruce Lee changed that and bettered many martial artists and the approach of many schools at the time.

Bruce would get an A+ in Jazz but would get an F in classical music. That is the best way i can describe his martial art. Started with slt and ck and improvised to make it work with other martial arts, kicking and grappling, not sure what JKD weapons are, but WC is always dragon pole and butterfly knives. JKD is mma with martial arts around the world while WC is mma within china mixing snake and crane styles. A purist or traditional would never learn a martial art from a foreign land that was the way back then, different times now where you can learn anything.

Bruce often visited and learned from Liang Zi Peng, a Yiquan Sifu in Hong Kong. If you look at his JKD, it was clearly influenced by Yiquan. Their combat philosophies are too similar, even down to fighting with the strong side forward.

@@MrCBTman this information is not mentioned of corroborated by any else. I have read a lot about Bruce Lee over the years and his biggest influences were arguably western forms of fighting. JKD is simplistic and direct with little to no wing chun in late stage JKD. He himself said it is more of a western martial art than anything relating to gung fu. Especially by the 70’s. Bruce learnt from a few people, that’s it. He didn’t learn from everyone and everything as the popular narrative today likes to push. Where are you getting your information from? How was JKD influenced by “Yiquan” ? In what way? Strong side forward? That’s nothing new there are other systems that do this. If that’s your “evidence” it’s laughable.

@@MrCBTman Hey I am not trying to take anything from Lee. He was and will be forever the first Asain (although he was not full-blooded Chinese, and something he hid very well in the US) International martial artist movie star. But in real life Lee was a fake MArtial artists who had no respect for Chinese traditions of Martial Art so they put him and his son down!
But to deal with your issue. You said Lee mastered kung-fu. No he didn't! Name one system of kung-fu he mastered. Like him you are ignorant of what Martial Art is or even what the words mean. Bruce said "to him" martial arts means to express oneself earnestly.
That is BS! No one can change meaning of ancient words. ANd what he said applies to anything artistic, ballet, gymnastics, music, sports, etc. Wing chun is the least of Southern China kung-fu's. This is what got Bruce in trouble after he was run out of China for fear of his life at 18.; (he was seriously bullied from 12-16) His father bribed Yip Man to teach him. Most kung-fu's take 5 year training, except WC which takes 3 years. That is bc it was designed by a woman for females. This is the number one reason Lee found its weaknesses.
To be a Master in Gung-fu you must train from a MAster for 12 years straight without interruption. Y+The minimum age is 6, and with the 12 years of training, that means no MAsters are below the age of 18. I was fortunate to trianed by the most prolific Martial Artist in the world who had received training directly under the grandmaster who was promoted him as a Master after 10 years. (never before in Shaolin history)
I was 18 when I met him and he was 16. I had been learning Chinese Kenpo (that the whites boys turned into karate) and then Shaolin from James Cook who showed me where kenpo came from. Then I met my Gugn-fu Instructor who showed were it all came from. I say all this to say Bruce Lee was a fake Martial Artist and was actually afraid to compete. All he ever did was demonstrate.
