Abe Cunningham's drum work on Passenger is something too sophisticated least to say. Seriously, it's not easy to play. You really have to nail all those small details, hihat work and the ghost notes, while you try to keep the up beat pulse of the groove. Not even talking about how beautiful this song is, that is something obvious, right? :)

Abe Cunningham is one of the most underrated drummers of all time. I love his snare work so much, and love his hi hat groves

Abe uses hi-hat and ghost notes like anyone else. It gives a total different feeling to their music.
Beautiful work! I've been working on this song as well and I'm struggling with controlling my speed because the FEELING of the song changes so much and I just get too damn excited. Not an easy song to sit down and play by any means, congrats on this clean cover.
Thanks a LOT! I completely understand you, whenever I decide to play deftones something feels off. The feeling thing is sooooo important in their music. I remember that it took me awhile to play the perfect take in this one because even if you play it right, still you have to rush and drag at the certain parts of the song. Killer tune, killer drummer.

Finally someone covered this well, like this is perfect. Recording and sound quality is top notch, amazing dynamics and clean playing like wow i am floored. Ive been searching for years for someone to cover this well and they always fail in one aspect or the other like theyd drag on some sections or miss some subtle fills or ignore the dynamics altogether but damn you nailed it man like i am so glad to be alive and finally see this song done justice on the drums. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. This song means a lot to me and i always thought abe's drumming might be inimitable but wow. Finally.

I hope he does 😅 I actually deleted the first session of recordings because the feeling wasn't right. So I had to re-record the whole thing after working on (again!) all those tiny small details, and having lots of listening too. To sum up; Abe is such a good musician 👊
Jheez I think this is my favourite cover of this song. So clean and love the attention to detail, can tell a lot of work went into this. That snare sound is just 👌🏻

Çok çok severim, ama Deftones şarkılarının bir sıkıntısı var ki hakkını vererek çalmak gerçekten çok yorucu. Yani öğrenmek ve metronomla çalmak da yetmiyor, o hissiyat gerçekten lazım. Lateralus çalmak psikolojik olarak bu kadar yormadı, yalan yok 😅 Uzun lafın kısası, kesinlikle sonraki Deftones Digital Bath olur, ama ne zaman bilemiyorum 🙏 Teşekkür ettim
