Specifically Iota, I distinctly remember playing that song, while sufficiently sleep deprived on the plane ride over middle America. it was such a beautiful moment of music discovery, wherein the atmosphere and the content of the song melded so perfectly, the cabin noise and commotion somehow finding common ground with the calm and reassurance of the lyrics. Love this. There are women (and men) who write their own songs and sing them the way they want to. When people think that women have to sound "pretty" when they sing I feel so sad for their limited point of view and the music they feel they must enjoy.
