When this single was released, I’d never heard of them. Saw this in a recordstore in Brussels, and bought it, because the name of the band, the titles of the songs and the weird cover attracted me. When I came home and listend, I was blown away… Fantastic band!
Always up for some Killing Joke !
Geordie RIP, an all time great guitarist. He had a style of his own. What a track this is.
The rare time that the drummer, Big Paul Ferguson and bassist, Youth share vocals with Jaz. You can see why this was a rarity 🤣
One of my favourite KJ songs. That bass line is sublime.
Early Killing Joke specialised in dense punk/funk with dark lyrics. They would later play more traditional rock music but the early days were glorious. I recommend "Follow the leader" for a further reaction to this band.
One of my all time favourite bands. They were great live as well with Jaz's shamenic presence and Youth, Geordie and Big Paul pounding put the heaviest danceable music possible. There is a great version of this song on In Dub Vol 2 - worth checking out Killing Joke fans.
Who'd have thought that Jaz would end up being employed by the EU as a classical composer and Youth writing songs with McCartney (the Firemen). Many thanks for playing this - a truly great b-side.
Perhaps Follow the Leader next?
One of their Best.
The Hum is my favorite Killing Joke song.
@@davidellis5141 Their First Two LPs and associated tracks are Excellent.
This was the B-Side to their first single Wardance & is not included on the debut album even in the deluxe reissues. Very raw. Love the guitar 🎸 of Geordie. The singer, Jaz Coleman is a very odd individual. Musicians love this band. They were incredibly tight.
I have the 7" but I'm missing their First LP at the mo. I'll pick a Cheap copy if I see one.
This is dark , heavy , tense Rocky and I love it ! 😅… I know all the words by heart .. ‘A Nazi with a social degree - A R*pist with your eyes on me ‘…. Pure Jaz Coleman at his best ✊
👍🏴
@@jaymacgee_A_Bawbag_Blethering Mornin'. How did Humbug Day go?
@@SPKdesign1 oh it DID get printed ? I thought my comment got hooked as it disappeared for a bit 😆
👍🏴
@@SPKdesign1 aww I loved it Sir , I was doing the whole kit n caboodle cooking at the ex’s for us n both daughters , sweaty but wonderful tbh …. Yerself ?
👍🏴
This reminds me of the real punk music of the 70's. 👍
Great band, Killing Joke, this track is from '82 if I remember rightly, believe it or not it was a 'B Side' but became popular with fans, so many artists have cited them as inspiration over the years since including the likes of, Nirvana.
It's not from 1982. "Pssyche" was released in 1980 as the single B-side to "Wardance".
@@a.k.1740 Thank you for the information, I knew that it was a "B Side' but I wasn't sure which B Side it was or the year it was, as it wasa long time ago when I bought it.
Fabulous tune, they never quite captured the magic of their first album for me, a mix of industrial/punk/dub/funk/postpunk, but all their stuff is good. It blew me away when I first heard on the John Peel show at 10 years old 40 odd years later it's still in my life. Thanks for your reaction video, I love seeing people from far off places react to classics like this having never heard them!
Follow the Leader - probably got the most bouncing, saw them live 3 times at Rock City. In the league of The Damned for best bands live.
This song is like a Physiological Thriller.
Very Good.
Gee, I've heard a lot of bad things about those London Parks over the years.
Have thrashed various of my cars to this song.I used to have to turn it down at certain points if any of my parents could hear, coming from a catholic family.
lol … I typed that line you didn’t want to read out Cynthia and it was IMMEDIATELY hooked by TH-cam 😂….
This is mega awesome music for grown ups , they were genuinely unique , heavy as phook and a real fav of mine , this was a B side and I much prefer it to Wardance which was the A side .
Please consider ‘ The Wait ‘ as a who did it better with Killing Joke and Metallica 👀… neither of them to be live versions please 🙏
👍🏴

Being a fan of, anti- singers, that's the best I've ever heard , top marks, angry , frantic, brilliant 🏴✌️
You beat mi Tonight.
Both Metallica & Foo Fighters covered Killing Joke songs.
Went to see them in Leicester 80s, only due to this record, which has wardance on, which is also very good, not keen on much else they did
