I came across a video twenty years ago with Monte in a small venue doing Romeo and Juliet. As a fan of acoustic guitar from the time I bought my first Yamaha FG in "83, I have been a fan ever since!
So awesome to see Monte getting some love and recognition outside here in Austin....Austinites have been catching Monte's shows localy since the 90's and he's not only the best acoustic rock guitarist on the planet, he puts on a great show. Always has. Check out his cover of 'Sara Smile' if you haven't already....it was good enough to get him invited on Live From Daryl's House a few years back.
Can't believe I missed him at Sam's burgers this year. Super small club in San Antonio. I saw him a couple of years ago. Literally could have reach out and touched his shoes. Jesus, I look at the view numbers, I mean seriously what kind of world do we live in.
I wrote to Daryl Hall's fan club and told them about Monte doing Sara Smile; I thought Daryl would like it. The rest is history! Well, that's my take on it anyway...

Saw you at a theater in Clovis New Mexico around 1997 and then you went over to a small bar same night and played a little bit more for a small crowd. I've been a fan ever since and really hope you are doing well though this damndemic :( Wondering if you are ever planning any new material in the future?!?!?!

I think this dude could sing any song in the world and make it sound better than the original artist. I have seen Monte live 3 or 4 times.
I wish a live version of Let Me Go existed.
