For the mountain town downtown ambiance, we love Gatlinburg. There are lots of things to do with the kiddos in both areas. For our adult vacations, we like to stay outside of the Gatlinburg / Pigeon Forge area in a cabin and then you have lots of restaurants for evening meals etc. During the day, we enjoy adventures to the park. We love Cades Cove, Rich Mountain Road, Parson Branch Rd (when open), Metcalf Bottoms with a picnic basket, Roaring Fork Trail, and a drive over to the Cataloochee valley is awesome! LOTS of outings around the area! ❤

This was a comprehensive video with some very helpful details. My wife wanted to visit the Ark Encounter in KY but I mentioned to her that we would see this area since it's reasonably close. Unfortunately,, my college young adult kids can only have breaks in late June the end of July so we're going to probably be hit with the higher prices and heat. BTW, you have a beautful family. Thank you for this post.

Thank you for this lovely video. I think you misspoke about the size of the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. I believe it is five hundred, twenty -two thousand acres, not five thousand two hundred, twenty-two acres.

From pigeon forge it’s only 6 miles, but depending on the time of day, it can be a longer drive due to traffic.
It’s quicker to get from gatlinburg to pigeon forge :)
Thank you for watching and enjoy :)

I know this was a month ago. I am getting ready to go there in October. What happens is the best ones to stay with for a budget friendly experience? Cuz I'm looking at getting a cabin and there's so many and I don't know who's best to go through

I just google it honestly - and you will find a ton of diff cabin rental companies... I would just look and see if anyone is offering deals. That is what I do for my family.

What town do you like more? This or nearby Pigeon Forge? Try not to say Pigeon Forge just because of Dollywood.

Gatlinburg is much better than Pigeon Forge. It feels more like a small town and has better views and activities.
