  • Snow Removal with a Massey Ferguson S6714 Tractor with 110" Snow Wolf Quattro Plow. Final clean up after 11" blizzard.
    Video is from Chris Gallus, coworker of mine in one of our large tractors at a large industrial site down the road from where I plow.
    Helping Doosan DL 300 wheel loader with 20ft arctic sectional and Cat 297D Skid loader with 110" Snow Wolf Quattro Plow do final cleanups at one of eight large industrial buildings my company plows. Shot with an in cab view using a go pro 11 and wide angle. Hope you enjoy!

    What a nightmare of a lot to plow. All of the snow piles are taking up a good chunk of the available parking spaces. Hopefully you have a snowblower for that tractor and can blow those piles back.

    • @ChrisTanton7
      @ChrisTanton7  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It definitely is a challenge but as of now two of the eight buildings we plow on site aren't occupied and are only fully plowed when requested by owners. So drive lanes and important areas are only cleared each snowfall unless otherwise requested at those buildings. And the snow piles there aren't an issue as of right now, as long as two car widths are accessible to get by. If that changes we will work with the client and haul them out! As for the other buildings that do have clients they aren't at max capacity yet but the snow piles are hauled out when they become too large and once each building is at full capacity they will be hauled out after each event no matter the size. Unfortunately on the employee side of the buildings the space is limited for where we can pile which does suck( drains needing to always be accessible and us not wanting to make long pushes), but as of the current situation with the facility being so new some piles aren't an issue as of now. Normally though, and like I said above, we will take care of them after each event with our loaders and lots of trucks! Nice having a dump site very close as well! Appreciate the comment!

    • @N2NDF
      @N2NDF ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was gunna say the same thing! I would create a windrow and blow the pile off. Less cost to customer. Less time for plow company. One vehicle! Can utilize other vehicles for other contracts. But that's just me

    • @ChrisTanton7
      @ChrisTanton7  ปีที่แล้ว

      We definitely have the blowers to do that but unfortunately the city doesn’t allow any snow that doesn’t naturally fall to be piled or blown in the retention basins here so it has to be hauled out. Fortunately for right now they have a few empty lots at this facility where they are planning to build more buildings so we just use our dump trucks and haul it to those spots costing them a lot less.

    Went on the web I can’t believe the amount of office people your company has top shelf how far do you guys drive for work in the summertime and in a winter storm thanks have a healthy New year

    • @ChrisTanton7
      @ChrisTanton7  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, we really have an amazing crew and are always trying to build and expand upon that! We have locations in three towns/cities so it varies depending on where people live and work out of. Our St. Louis Park location is mainly all office people and our Long Lake and Rockford locations are where we run Ops out of. On average I would say probably 30 min or less for most people. For me personally its about a 30 min drive to site in winter and same to our shops in the summer! Appreciate the comments and have a Great New Year as well!

      Unfortunately the tractor is a rental otherwise I definitely think we would try something like that out to help with the traction! After this season of trying the massey out though I wouldn’t be surprised if we looked into purchasing some. That’s useful info though so thanks for sharing!

    Does the layout of the lot at an account lot determine whether certain areas are plowed by a tractor or a loader/skid steer, or are the tractors just used to cleanup behind the loader?

    • @ChrisTanton7
      @ChrisTanton7  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      For us it comes down to what attachment is on a piece of equipment and what equipment is on site. Our Large Loaders with large pushers do the bulk of the stacking and snow clearing and smaller loaders, skid steers, tractors do the detail work and get the snow out to those larger loaders to stack. Much more efficient to do in that way. If its a smaller area then you may have the smaller equipment just clear everything since its not worth it for the larger stuff to come in and clean it up but generally it works in the way I explained above. In most cases though every piece of equipment on a specific site will go to plow every area. Also we don't typically wing snow over curb lines and never stack on islands so because of that all of our snow gets stacked in designated areas. So the tractors and skids with Quattro plows or smaller pushers will again wing everything in and make it as easy for the big stuff to come through and scoop it up.

    Curious if you have issues plugging up your engine air filter I run a challenger with a dozer on and have issues with my air filter plugging up when I am pushing a lot of light snow blowing back over the cab wondering if you found any ways to solve this

      We have had this happen with one of our other Massey’s but haven’t really found anything to combat it. I think it’s only happened once that I know of but all we did was bang it out and keep going. Sorry I couldn’t be more help. Hope it doesn’t keep happening for ya! Thanks for reaching out though!

      Hi! The Snow plow that's on the tractor is 168 inches or 14 feet when both wings are fully open. When both wings are closed the plow is 144inches or 12feet. This would be 426.72 centimeters when open or 4.2672 meters and 365.76 centimeters or 3.6576meters when closed! Appreciate the question!
