Wow Mark, it looks so easy. Now I'm going to try it the usual 10 to 15 times until I throw the big bird nest on the floor and watch a video of a soothing waterfall. 😂

I do try to make it as clear as possible. Still, it does take practice.
I did throw a nest myself at the start of my knot tying journey. Not my proudest moment, but still, could be way worse :).
Patience is the mark of a good craftsman!

@@Paracordguild you do make it perfectly clear. I just get distracted easily and lose my train of thought. It was my attempt to be humorous. Keep up the good work.

@@Paracordguild I mastered the Turk's head… but the Gaucho Fan Knot eludes me for some reason and I can't figure out WHY!!!!
Do you think you could do a tutorial on on that is a LOT smaller … like not as long… and make it on a 2 or 3 inch mandrel? Maybe if it’s shown on a larger scale for teaching, I might be able to figure it out…. I think it’s because these are so much tighter that is more difficult to see everything…. That’s how I figured out the Turks head…. I had one of our scout masters who is a knot guru like me (except for these fancy gauchos lol) show me how to tie the Turks head on a 3 inch dowel… we were making woggles for our scarves…once I was actually able to see everything better on a larger scale, it just clicked…. I’m hoping this would be the same for this gaucho… so, anyway…. If you think you could make a tutorial like that, I would be soooooooooooo grateful!!

    Another great tutorial Mark.
My only observation is that I would've filed the alloy tube ends a little, just to make them neat as over time I believe that the rough ends will frey the cord.
    Cheers from Australia.

      Quite so!
My cuts in general were relatively smooth, but some filing/sanding could indeed be helpful!

Easy knot and it looks amazing. I like your idea of using the aluminum tube.

A core makes these knots lay nice and evenly. It is not a must, but I like it.

@@Paracordguild I'll probably have to use a plastic rod since I do believe using any type of metal core would make this a weapon in Germany ^^'

Love this. I e studied your site for a year. Do you know of any groups that meet in person to tie paracord projects in London? 😊

I have yet to be successful at doing this type of weave. I really want to try this. I need to find the metal tubing that you used that I can use my hand saw to cut through.

Used a hand saw as well. Most tubing will work in this dimension. Be it brass or aluminum.
