Thank you for the simple explanation. I'm considering an Ecoflow Delta Max Ultra for my home, but I don't have a good spot to mount a transfer switch. Plus, the limitation of 10 circuits poses a problem for me. I don't want to power everything at once, but I want to be able to selectively deliver power where I need it. It looks like the interlock kit is the only viable solution for this.

if your main panel has a bunch of AFCI breakers the transfer switch is kind of a pain as you need to install extra AFCI breakers.

was curious what you suggested for a manual transfer switch as i have batteries for backup so don’t need a generator to start but still don’t have enough money for a whole house ATS like the $900 generac install with extra costs for the labor and extra electrical cabinets, etc
and that gets too close to the meter so harder to remove/change in the future

I would just go with the interlock kit then

I like interlocks. I put color dots on breakers to make it easy. On Gen power, Any green dots can be on. Only 1 blue dot at a time (kitchen stove, water heater, dryer, etc). No red dots (electric furnace, heat pumps)

It is good you have a system that works for you. We can run everything except for the AC

That’s a great way to do it.
