Darcha To Leh - Gateway to Zanskar. Descending from Shinkula

We wanted to go to Leh via the Manali-Leh Highway. At Darcha checkpost, at 7AM in the morning we were greeted with a traffic jam as vehicle movement was stopped due to heavy snowfall at Sarchu and Baralacha La.
Then we thought to visit the Shinkula. Little did we know that we would actually proceed towards Leh via Zanskar.
