At almost 65 yrs of age, built with local materiial and high class craftsmanship brought from Punjab and Kpk, using stone and local wood, still standing tall and simply awaits a bit of refurbishment as it has not received any for the last 30yrs, except most urgent repairs. During this period 2005 Earthquake took place and modern brick, steel and mortar buildings were badly demaged. It was iconic house that had no parallel at the time it was built in entire area. Only imported material is it's carrogated sheets, that were used for British era buildings that can still with stand 10 times more weight on the roof owing to their quality, strength and weight. Wooden structure underneath too, supports their weight which proves strength material and structure. While thick rock walls make the building ideal for living and catering for extreme weather conditions. The owner wants this heritage building as a model for coming generations, that good construction skill and local matrial can lead to much more eco friendly construction and is better than so-called modern brick and mortar. He intends to reduce price of the building substantially for rehabilitation work so that glory of the building goes much beyond a century as a mix of victorian and local construction.
