Yes! The best generation. Lol Thank you! Love having you as part of the fam. Oh really? What do you like about them? My favorite is Lion. They just look like they cannot be messed with. Lol 😂
Good question. I'll admit this visit was a learning for me. I went in with a certain mindset, so I didn't question a lot. In hindsight, I have so many questions. From what I understood, all the elephants were rescued. So that tells me mother and daughter as well. But a follow-up to that is how long have they been living in the sanctuary.
@@Lehsee. This is all new to me to. I didn't realize that some sanctuaries weren't even considered havens for the animals. There is one near me in Florida and these are all things i will look into prior to visiting. Thanks for bringing this to other peoples attention!
At Thailand they are good, not perfect, protected. All over the world, the biggest problem for wild animals, is the deforestation of habitats, the woods, specially rainforests. At Africa comes on top, elephants and most of the wild animals are killed by african poachers themselves for bushmeat.
I think the issue of animal rights is so complex and multi-layered. Poaching in general has been problematic not just for "bush meat." Poaching for fashion too. And maybe not the same impact as poaching or deforestation, but animal tourism cruelty too is real.
@@safranpollen @safranpollen Im not sure Im entirely understanding your point. But this video was me telling a story of how I learned more about the complexities of "ethical animal sanctuaries." And providing information on how tourists can come close to choosing the right ethical facility as possible.
When PETA is brought into any discussion, you might as well just stop. It's like having Jessie Jackson show up at a scene that may or may not have racial implications. After he's there, it surely will.

This just made my day! So glad you found it helpful. 🙌
Good job
How did the baby elephant come to be? If the baby is with the mom, did she get pregnant at the sanctuary?

Lol I thought about it too, but what they are saying makes sense in this context. And it's not just only them.
