    I watched all 3 lectures on the Noahide.. I have to say this is by far the best 3 part series on the Noahide Laws that I have ever found online. The richness and depth, in light of our current moment in history with the footsteps of Messiah approaching, is enlightening and refreshing and Efraim's ability to bring such complexity into clear understanding is a true gift of wisdom ... I agree with everything presented. I only have one minor exception, which I think is warranted to add here and is beneficial imo to realize. that is regarding "Shema Israel", being primarily something for Israel and Jews alone. The thing is, the whole purpose of the creation is to ultimately reveal the Oneness of HaShem. ALL of creation is subject too and part of the Oneness of God. Jew and gentile, male and female, even the birds of the air, the fish in the sea, the trees and the rocks,, every single molecule in existence in all worlds, is subject to and part of the Oneness of HaShem .. Israel just happens to be the mouthpiece and spokesman who is appointed to lead the way for the rest of creation, in bringing light and clarity to the Oneness of HaShem. But ultimately, ALL of creation is to cry out "Adonai Eloheinu, Adonai Echad" !! so why not Israel lead the way, and the righteous Noahide follow suit, and then the rest of creation all follow suite, until one day all of creation makes this wonderful profession of faith.

    I’m so happy to have found this channel ! You are so clear and concise and what I love most is the Hebrew with the English!! Thank you so much! I am somewhat confused concerning the Noahide Laws….. forgive me for misunderstanding.
    Didn’t Hashem introduce the precept of the 7th Day Sabbath at the time of creation before the fall and then came the curse that Adam due to his sin would now have to work? Would Hashem expect Adam to work 7 days a week when He Himself took a day to rest? At the time of creation Hashem also gave the gift of free will for all humankind to obey His Word or not. And weren’t all nations present at the giving of Hashem’s 10 utterances on the 2 tablets?
    On Rosh Hashanna is it correct that t- all humanity is examined and judged for the sins of 1. Idolatry, 2. inappropriate relations, 3. bloodshed and 4. Lashon hara / evil speech? Why therefore isn’t evil speech - bearing false not included in the “Noahide Laws” ? AndIs it possible the Noahide laws doctrine was created to keep the Torah and its blessings and light for the Jews excluding all others?

    Thank you Rabbi for so much clarification in the third lecture.
    I have a question. The Rabbi said somewhere that non-Jews shouldn’t recite the Shema because that doesn’t apply to non-Jews. I think the Rabbi is referring to the whole Shema prayer as in the Jewish prayer book. If that’s what the Rabbi is referring to, that I understand, that that whole text wouldn’t apply to the Noahide. Though I think there are people that will ask the question “What about if I just recite the Shema verse (Deuteronomy 6:4) once, twice or several times a day, would that be OK?” I heard from other Rabbis telling the story of Rabbi Hida (Chaim Yosef David Azulai, if I’m not mistaking) that he traveled and met a non-Jew which turned out to be a Noahide, and Rabbi Hida advised the person, among other things, to recite the Shema verse twice a day. I guess that is a precedent?

    • @EfraimPalvanov
      @EfraimPalvanov  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Thanks Steven. Please call me Efraim (or Efi), and no need to use the third person ("you" is perfectly fine). A Noahide could certainly recite the verses, since you can learn Torah and you would recite the verses anyway in the context of learning Torah. I meant more in the sense of using the Shema in the fulfilment of a mitzvah (since it wouldn't be a mitzvah for a Noahide).

      As a Noahide of 20 years and ex xtian, this custom of davening at the kever of tzaddikim is one I still cannot wrap my head around.
      I've heard several explanations and although some make sense my instincts scream "NO!"
      The term avoda zara means strange/foreign service.
      And I do find it strange to do this. Why not just pray to Hashem directly from whereever you are? Invite HBH directly.
      But then again, I'm not Jewish so that's probably why I don't get it. 😁
      I actually like Rabbi Nachman of Breslov's hitbodedut practice/method: secluded meditation somewhere in nature. A forest, by a lake, a garden. 😊

    That is a very interesting observation, that people use the rainbow as a symbol for 'inclusiveness', claiming it to the excusion of biblical morality. It's as if to say, "You, G-d, promised, through the rainbow, not to destroy us, so we will do whatever we want." We should respond, rather, with gratitude and stronger devotion to His Will.

    I think the Jerusalem Talmud reference - Avodah Zarah 9a referencing the 30 pieces of silver in Zech 11:12. In my opinion linking this to 30 Noahide laws is weak. Most of the sources say the 30 is about the number of righteous at a certain time. Took me a while to even find this one line about 30 laws and THEN doesn't it say later these people went back on their word? It said they "renigged" on it? I don't think I spelled renigged correctly...lol. Anyway please let me know if my opinion on this is way off base - but I just don't see the link to noahide laws as strong at all.

    Didn’t the precept of resting on the 7th day universal for ALL humanity since it was since it was established in the Garden before the fall?
    2 And on the seventh day G-d finished His work which He had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made. 3 And G-d blessed the seventh day, and hallowed it; because that in it He rested from all His work which G-d in creating had made.

    To what extent should a noahide keep sabbath?

    • @Alittleweaselfromouterspace

      It is universally agreed that a Noahide may keep Shabbat with the caveat that he/she performs one act of "desecration" this way the Noahide does not.....I don't know how say it in English : se hace pasar por ser Judio en los ojos de no Judios - make others think you're a Jew when you're not which can lead to a lot of problems and misunderstandings .
      It's a lengthy topic and I'm not qualified to expound on it but basically do one act of chillul Shabbat: turn on a light and you should be fine.
      I do not keep Shabbat but I've been davening out of a S'faradi Siddur for 20 years. I omit reciting anything that is "Israel"

    I think I am understanding maybe not? One last question …
    If the Descendants of Yacov /Israel (Jews) are a physical genealogy - how can one who is not a descendant of Yakov/Israel change their inherited genealogy become an Israelite (convert) ?
    Is it possible that the Torah and all its beauty and blessings along with the free will to chose to observe it or not was given to all by Hashem on Mount Sinai and the descendants of Israel were chosen to keep His Torah pure and TEACH it to all nations and the Jews failed to do this and this why there is so much anti-semitism? Is requiring “ conversion” of one who doesn’t descend from Israel and choses to receive the blessings of living a Torah observant life only adding fuel to the fire?

  • @LoiDivine
    @LoiDivine 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    40:00 the law of the land has also to be logic and non discriminatory to be considered a law to follow according to the Torah.
    47:00 noachides shouldn't say our blessings with the name of God, because they are more alike to happen to say the name in vain. like interrupt by a distraction in the middle of a blessing after saying the name.
    49:01 Yov was a noachide, uncircumcised, he married Dinah when she was 52 after the death of her first hsband and after the death of Yaacov, Yov was then 18 (Chessed leAvraham, Rabi Avraham Azulay)
    51:50 it is still forbidden for Noachides to keep Shabat according to all our legislators except the Rabi Palvanov
    54:40 a noachide shouldn't put on Tefilin except at the Kotel or when he visits his jew friend for the same reason I mentionned regarding the blessings, and it's even more serious here that the names are written. but according to rabi palvanov who authorized Shabat, it shouldn't be a problem at all. and we strongly desagree with prophet palvanov.
    1:00:00 the information alone isn't holly for an apikoros writing the same information doesn't make it holly but we burn it. the added intention isn't enough either for if it is written on paper it isn't holly. it is holly because the mizva was done the way it was supposed to be and contains names of God.

    • @selenecudjoe
      @selenecudjoe หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is incorrect. Rabi Palvanov is not the only Rabbi that says Shabat is not forbidden for the Noachide, so does the very wise Rabbi Chaim Clorofene. Ultimately, Hashem does not forbid it in Isaiah 56. Noachides are not " idol worshippers" so it is not forbidden. Shalom

    What’s the difference between forgiveness of sins and atonement of sins? When we sincerely do teshuvah, G-d may grant forgiveness but He does not necessarily take away the consequences of the sin. Doesn’t the soul need to make atonement before going to heaven otherwise the soul must be cleansed first in Gehinnon? Can we atone for sins and if so, then how do we atone for sins today, Jew and non-Jew?
    Lastly, It was explained to me that non-Jews do not need to marry with ketubah (marriage contract) and ritual ceremony, they just live together and be a faithful partner to one another. If they no longer want to be together, then they just separate not needing a divorce certificate. Marriage, at least for Christians, is borrowed from Judaism and is not necessary. The betrothal, reading ketubah, the seven blessings and divorce certificates are only for Jews. Is this correct?

      Regarding marriage, a ketubah or chuppah isn't necessary, but interestingly Shmuel Gaon does say Noahide marriage should involve "muhar u'matan" meaning some form of "gift" to solidify the bond. I think a wedding ring is a good idea.

He writes her a divorce document, gives it to her and sends her away from his house. 2 She leaves his house, goes and becomes another man’s wife; 3 but the second husband dislikes her and writes her a get, gives it to her and sends her away from his house; or the second husband whom she married dies. 4 In such a case her first husband, who sent her away, may not take her again as his wife, because she is now defiled. It would be detestable to Adonai, and you are not to bring about sin in the land Adonai your God is giving you as your inheritance.

    I used the instructions of the Netzarim in Jerusalem, in chapter 15 of Acts, to extract a Torah for the Nations from the written Torah. The instructions concerning 'niddah' are included, but for me, it is important to stick to the washing up on the 8th day. To be honest, I know that no human being can be G-d like Roman Christianity teaches, but a human being can make the Holy Name known, as Jesus of Nazareth prays in chapter 17 of John. I gathered a collection of verses, passages, and Psalms to be recited in preparation for heartfelt prayer, but I don’t include the Shema. I do recite Zechariah 14:9. I also transliterated 8 Psalms of David. Others I read in English. I like to say, 'barukh atah avi wa l'shimkha haleli'. Here's my transliteration of Genesis 2:7:
    wayitzer yhwh (Adonai) elohim et ha adam 'afar min ha adamah

      @MasjidYeshua Actually, I'm merely sharing something of my personal devotions. I'm not trying to start a new teligion, and I'm certainly not a member of any of the historical Protestant denominations. I don't believe in that imaginary god-man who is the second person of some holy trinity. I'm not Jewish, but yes, I do respect the rabbis and 'hhakhamim' of modern Judaism. Thanks to this channel, I have a good knowledge of the expected Messiah. I will recognize the one 'mashiahh ben dawid' if he shows up. If that's what it will take to achieve some kind of lasting peace and carry on with the peaceful trade and commerce, well, then, so be it! After all of my independent research, I arrived at the conclusion that, Second Temple period politics aside, the Sadducees (צדוקים) were closer to the true Hebraic worldview of the ancient Israelites. That is why I keep stating that human beings of all nations should be working together in order to pass on a better way of life to future generations here on this one planet Earth that nourishes us all. To be honest, I do not place my wholehearted trust in the messianic expectations, end-times prophecies, or afterlife fantasies of any religion, but then again, the followers of the Rambam are expecting a "resurrection of the dead" ('t'hhiyat ha m'tim'), not some eternal bliss in an afterlife paradise ('jannah'), or eternal torment in some imaginary afterlife hellfire ('jehinnom'). There is no afterlife, only LIFE! But yes, I do believe in life after death because people die and life goes on.
      Alright, well... I wish you all success and true prosperity.

    Jesus of Nazareth tells his disciples to keep their loins girded and their lamps burning. I think that is related to Yesod. I washed my head with almond-scented soap again this morning. Almonds remind me of the Hebrew root 'sh-q-d', and I recently began telling myself every morning that I will keep my loins girded and my lamp burning, be sober and vigilant, and mind my gaze and my 'lashon'. Some days I need to remind myself more often. 😁

And if you like it, find it very nurturing, can i design such a garden myself ? Yin is female the moon, the receiver, the water moving, Yang are the rocks, and the sun the energy given, and so on. is this nonsense or metaphysical cosmological universal truth? With all due respect dear teacher I cannot agree there is one set of laws for Jews and another set for non- Jews. The Torah existed BEFORE creation and all nationalities were present at Sinai. The sign of the covenant of Circumcision was given to Abraham. Ismael was circumcised before Isaac, Jacob and Esav. On Rosh Ha Shanna the whole world is judged for idolatry, bloodshed/hatred, inappropriate relations and speaking and LISTENING to EVIL SPEECH - false witness, lies and gossip. Not just the Jews. All need to learn repentance/Teshuvah during the month of Elul not just Jews.
    Jacob’s/Israel’s descendants were chosen by Hashem to TEACH the divine Torah to all who are willing to learn and to guard it. The “ Torah is for Jews only” doctrine in my humble opinion is from the Erav Rav and is the root cause of anti semitism as it creates jealousy, envy and resentment. Non-Jews are left out of Gods divine blueprint for a life of blessings and they know it. So they create idolatrous religions that says the Torah is no longer valid. “Where there is no law there is no transgression” just believe.

  • @venitajames1437
    @venitajames1437 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Rabbi I believe that Paul’s writings are for the Gentiles only. Rabbi Paul was sent by Hashem as a prophet to the Nations, hoping that other Jews would understand the meaning of the death of Yeshua for the Nations. Hashem’s way of fulfilling his promise to Abraham would come through the death of Israel’s Messiah Yeshua. This death of the Messiah was not predicted in the Hebrew Scriptures. Paul knew that his death would be a stumbling block to the Jewish people because the Messiah was to conquer the enemies of the Jewish people and bring about peace, but Yeshua chose to die in order to fulfill the promises to the patriarchs. Paul understood that the end time had come and all nations must turn to the God of Israel, they would maintain their identity as Gentile nations. Paul wanted the 70 nations to be Jewish but not Jews.

    I feel so blessed I read first Torah and after that read Talmud. I know now what this verse talk about: Jeremiah 7;23 Rather, what I did order them was this: ‘Pay attention to what I say. Then I will be your God, and you will be my people. In everything, live according to the way that I order you, so that things will go well for you.’ 24 But they neither listened nor paid attention, but lived according to their own plans, in the stubbornness of their evil hearts, thus going backward and not forward. - Obey God's Law not the Talmud. God says in Torah Exodus 12;49 The same teaching is to apply equally to the citizen and to the foreigner living among you.” and here Leviticus 24;22 You are to apply the same standard of judgment to the foreigner as to the citizen, because I am Adonai your God.” and here Numbers 15;15 For this community there will be the same law for you as for the foreigner living with you; this is a permanent regulation through all your generations; the foreigner is to be treated the same way before Adonai as yourselves. 16 The same Torah and standard of judgment will apply to both you and the foreigner living with you.’”.
