Thank you Chef Simone ❤️ Just made this for my boyfriend’s family (his mom is a tough critic!) wanted to impress them with one of our Jamaican specialty. Followed your recipe, added a few tweaks to fit what I had in the kitchen. It was an absolute hit!❤️ They loved it 🥰 His brother had TWO plates! LOL🇯🇲❤️Big up yuself Queen Diva Chef 👩🏾🍳
I seasoned the chicken and I watched your tutorial.I loved it!Tomorrow I will cook it this way.I am Cuban and I love all varieties of food and Jamaican is one of my favorite. It's amazing!.Thank You so much.
Thank you for posting! My wife is an excellent cook but I like to give her a break. She’s nicer to me when I cook! Lol. I’m going to follow your recipe to the letter. Thx again
Just made this now. SOOOO GOOD and easy!! Thank you for sharing this recipe. I used chicken gravy granules for some thickness as i didn’t have cornstarch. Still tastes good! 🥰👌🏾
Your recipe was so good! I made it last night and eating it for breakfast! Iam very pleased I added a lil hot sauce for spice to it but your recipe is definitely on point ❤️
Thank you so much for showing us how to make this WITHOUT starches and flour. While I like a thick gravy, I prefer to leave out ingredients that raise blood sugar. :)
I know its two years old, the video, But! I just did this, off your tutorial, Lovely and am ready for the jealousy from the smell alone, at work tomorrow, love and respect Queen, from UK🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I’m late to the video lol but are you using wing dings that have been chopped up? I don’t cook often and don’t know how i should cut the chicken and which cut of chicken you chose.
@@nextinfood okay so you cook the meat so it can turn brown and get the seasoning well incorporated. Then you cover and leave on a simmer all the way through. I'm just asking to reassure lol. I know there are arrows to indicate boil cooking or simmer. Your recipe looks amazing as well. Great Job💖
Some brands of curry power have a bitter after taste because curry powers are made from Dried turmeric and turmeric have a natural bitter after taste especially when dried in the skin. Try using a little less on your meat. Some cooks would add a bit of sugar to mellow out the bitter taste of the turmeric. Tank you for watching. Share the video please 🙏 🙂
No matter what you say chicken always need water to boil to taste good and it will boil down and thicken up. Raw curry will burn your stomach and make u have cramps. That’s why I don’t buy curry chicken nowhere.
I’m Jamaican And I add water to my curry and boil it down for about 1 hour so it can be tender. I never tried putting ginger in mine before but that seems like a nice addition.
Hi Alicia, I've learned to add ginger whenever I'm cooking chicken, fish, goat, lamb and beef. Ginger removes the smell and taste of gaminess and fishyness
Me too and that’s what I had been doing for years. I tried it this way without adding the water and for me, this method was better. It’s also quicker and has a richer taste. Can’t go wrong either way though.
This recipe is BOMB tonight’s my second time making it going off your recipe… of course I seasoned it to my liking adding additional seasonings but I could not have done this without you. My family LOVED it! I made it one Father’s Day and my big brother is a cheat and I got his approval lol*
Omg I'm just 12 and made my first curry today by following your recipe and it's bomb ily!

Great video. Love the way you explain this which looks so easy. I will b making it today. New subbie
Would have fried the onions off with the curry powder at the beginning. And used potatoes instead of bell peppers.
Less water at the end.

Do you have the measurements??? Please
Thank you 😊
Would it taste the same or at least as good without the pepper? I cannot find this pepper 🤦🏽♀️
Hi! Will I have the same results if I use a regular pot and not a Dutch pot?
Wow! my Teacher on TH-cam 😂
Can anyone tell me if there is an ingredient measurement list please
Looks delicious. Thank you!!
omg I just learned that the reason you "burn" the spices is because they're fat soluble! that makes so much sense! before I was like, "uhhhh...."!!!
They do pump water into the chicken...many packages say it right on the label...something like "some percent of water added"
Thank you for watching. Shsre the video please 🙏
I like it w lots of gravy so I add water too
@@lepetitpapillon4904 thank you for watching. Thank you for watching. Share the video please 🙏
Love this recipe. So was the curry powder that was in the measuring cup different from the Betapac curry powder? Please answer.
Thank you for watching my tutorial. All the curry powder used in the video was Betapac
I really love this I will make it, and report back and let you know how it went. Should I use a 4 pack leg quarters or just a pack of drumsticks??
Leg quarters . Thank you for watching my tutorial.
Cheers 🍻
This is how my mum taught me fry and steam the chicken no water needed
What’s the temperature on the stove? HI, LO?
Start the coking on high and reduce the temperature to medium 10 minutes after the chicken is added
I’m going to very blunt…. Curry is a dish that has to be marinated.
What are the measurements, please thanks.
What is exact name and size of bettapac curry poweder. What was small pack of curry powder pac that you put in when u burn the oil?
All the curry powder used was The BetaPac brand.

Turned out great
Thanks
I love white rice
What happens if you add a bit of coconut milk? Im gonna make this recipe soon
It will make it taste even more delicious 😋.

How much salt and pepper did you use
What temp setting do u leave it on ?
So do you leave it on simmer or boil or in the middle for cook
Leave it on simmer.

I am so lost🥲 dis she use 3 different types of curry powder?
The tutorial use only one brand of curry powder
This is her personal recipe, not the traditional Jamaican way. I would like to try it tho.
What type of oil are you using?
Vegetable oil
Thanks chef , just used your recipe
Wait, so curry powder is really turmeric??!🤦🏾♂️ why they sell them as two different spices??????
Don't wear anything you love while cooking, because the curry stain nah come out.
IDK what i’m doing wrong. Everytime I make the curry it tastes bitter. The one in the restaurant have kind of a sweet and savory taste to it. Pls help
Some brands of curry power have a bitter after taste because curry powers are made from Dried turmeric and turmeric have a natural bitter after taste especially when dried in the skin.

Medium flame

Simple and nicely done
What chicken pieces are you using ?
A whole chicken 🐔 cut in small pieces was used in that tutorial

I like mines fall off the bone I like drums
I believe Curry powder is grounded from Mustard Seeds. Saffron is made from Tumeric.
Curry powder is usually a mix of 5 or 6 spices. Saffron is from the centre of a flower while Turmeric is a root like ginger!
❤❤❤ ty my queen

Only Jamaicans or Caribbean ppl would say I’m sharing the brand season name for free smh

Burn the curry powder? That would make it bitter, you mean to cook off the curry powder.
Please listen carefully 🙏 to what was said in the tutorial. Thank you for watching
You should always remove the skin from the chicken, to reduce high/bad cholesterol level. That's too much oil in the pan.
Gonna make tonight 🥴my kids tired of stew chicken
