I have an old friend that used to laugh like that when he was overweight. Except he would do that gassing off wheeze part, like Bert does in this, where he doesn't, or can't, come up for air, to the point of passing out. I thought I killed him the first time it happened. The situation isn't even that funny, but I guess the sincerity of the delivery must have had something to do with it. I was 16 years old and got into an argument (you, know, lots of them) with my step dad and packed some shit and moved out. I moved in with my best friend and his older brother who lived together and were both in a successful local area band that I did road work for. My parents called the older brother to ask him to ask me to call them when I got back from whatever stoner adventure me and my bud were on. We got back, he gave me the message to call my parents. I said I can't talk to them I'm too high. I was pacing. Had to shit. It was diarrhea. I came out of bathroom and announced I had the shits. Older brother said they had found out I was smoking pot. I asked how did they find that out? He said they said my younger sister ratted me out. I knew then, that they knew for real and weren't bluffing. Which made me more nervous and pacing. I said I can't call them back cuz I have diarrhea. And that is when my friends older brother literally died laughing. (Or so I thought.) He laughed so hard he was wheezing. Then he did a Bert as above, where he bent over at an angle, and gassed off. His whole large body shakes when he laughs, and as no air was going back in, he just sat there, jiggling, making no sound. Turning red faced. Big grin, teeth showing, helpless expression in eyebrows... Then a I saw a string of drool escape his mouth. Then he just tipped over forward in slow motion, and after reaching the halfway point, increased velocity, his weight now working together with gravity and face planted into the kitchen floor. Didn't put his arms out to break the fall. Just plowed carpet with his face. And laid there face blank, eyes closed, lights out, and still not breathing. Of course this all happened in seconds. Now older brother did not drink or use drugs, but me and my bud were high as fuck, having just smoked some delicious sativa strain before we got back. That's the kind that makes you get the giggles and the munchies. So. I panicked. I said something like... fuck! He died laughing!!! Not laughing. Scared. What to do? I went over and started to try to roll him over on his back. They don't call it dead weight for nothing. He was all floppy and when a pulled on his arm, all that moved was his arm. So there i am pulling in his arm over his back trying to roll him over. Meanwhile, his brother, my friend, is laughing so hard that the viens are sticking out in his forehead, red faced, wide grin teeth bared, and coughing, stooped over, then he goes down on his knees, then all fours, then into his side. He is laughing so hard he's crying. Tears are leaking out his eyes. I'm like, c'mon man. Help me roll him over! This ain't funny. He's not breathing! (And I'm wondering if smoking pot isn't a big mistake.) More laughter. He's gasping for air. I'm thinking, what if he dies too? How am I gonna explain this to the cops? They both died laughing? I gotta shit again in the worst way. My friend is starting to recover, catch his breath. I say I think I'm gonna shit my pants. I gotta go shit! I gotta call the ambulance! And he starts all over laughing his guts out. He tells me, Don't! He's ok. He does this all the time. He will be fine. Again, this is all happening over a matter of seconds. Less than a minute for sure. When I get out of bathroom, older brother is sitting in chair again. He has a rug burn on his forehead, nose and cheekbone, and his face is a little swollen. Lighting a cigarette. Sees me and starts laughing again. He did it one other time around me. In city traffic. 3 of us laughing about I don't remember. Passed out laughing slumped forward and crossed oncoming traffic in a diagonal fashion until we hit the curb. His best friend was in passenger seat. I was in back seat. Passenger tried to steer with drivers weight on steering wheel. See, this is a big guy. He drove a pacer at the time, a very small car, and the steering wheel touched the bottom of his gut at all times. He managed to avoid getting hit, but missed the parking lot driveway entrance by half the car width. We jumped the curb and made it into the lot. He put the car in neutral, and we waited for driver to wake up. Passenger sez, straight faced, boy, that was kinda scary wasn't it? I lost it laughing again.

I have an old friend that used to laugh like that when he was overweight. Except he would do that gassing off wheeze part, like Bert does in this, where he doesn't, or can't, come up for air, to the point of passing out.
I thought I killed him the first time it happened. The situation isn't even that funny, but I guess the sincerity of the delivery must have had something to do with it.
I was 16 years old and got into an argument (you, know, lots of them) with my step dad and packed some shit and moved out.
I moved in with my best friend and his older brother who lived together and were both in a successful local area band that I did road work for.
My parents called the older brother to ask him to ask me to call them when I got back from whatever stoner adventure me and my bud were on.
We got back, he gave me the message to call my parents.
I said I can't talk to them I'm too high. I was pacing. Had to shit. It was diarrhea. I came out of bathroom and announced I had the shits.
Older brother said they had found out I was smoking pot. I asked how did they find that out? He said they said my younger sister ratted me out. I knew then, that they knew for real and weren't bluffing.
Which made me more nervous and pacing. I said I can't call them back cuz I have diarrhea.
And that is when my friends older brother literally died laughing. (Or so I thought.)
He laughed so hard he was wheezing. Then he did a Bert as above, where he bent over at an angle, and gassed off. His whole large body shakes when he laughs, and as no air was going back in, he just sat there, jiggling, making no sound. Turning red faced. Big grin, teeth showing, helpless expression in eyebrows... Then a I saw a string of drool escape his mouth.
Then he just tipped over forward in slow motion, and after reaching the halfway point, increased velocity, his weight now working together with gravity and face planted into the kitchen floor. Didn't put his arms out to break the fall. Just plowed carpet with his face. And laid there face blank, eyes closed, lights out, and still not breathing.
Of course this all happened in seconds.
Now older brother did not drink or use drugs, but me and my bud were high as fuck, having just smoked some delicious sativa strain before we got back.
That's the kind that makes you get the giggles and the munchies.
So. I panicked. I said something like... fuck! He died laughing!!! Not laughing. Scared. What to do? I went over and started to try to roll him over on his back.
They don't call it dead weight for nothing. He was all floppy and when a pulled on his arm, all that moved was his arm. So there i am pulling in his arm over his back trying to roll him over.
Meanwhile, his brother, my friend, is laughing so hard that the viens are sticking out in his forehead, red faced, wide grin teeth bared, and coughing, stooped over, then he goes down on his knees, then all fours, then into his side. He is laughing so hard he's crying. Tears are leaking out his eyes.
I'm like, c'mon man. Help me roll him over! This ain't funny. He's not breathing! (And I'm wondering if smoking pot isn't a big mistake.)
More laughter. He's gasping for air. I'm thinking, what if he dies too? How am I gonna explain this to the cops?
They both died laughing?
I gotta shit again in the worst way.
My friend is starting to recover, catch his breath.
I say I think I'm gonna shit my pants. I gotta go shit! I gotta call the ambulance!
And he starts all over laughing his guts out.
He tells me, Don't! He's ok. He does this all the time. He will be fine.
Again, this is all happening over a matter of seconds. Less than a minute for sure.
When I get out of bathroom, older brother is sitting in chair again. He has a rug burn on his forehead, nose and cheekbone, and his face is a little swollen.
Lighting a cigarette. Sees me and starts laughing again.
He did it one other time around me. In city traffic. 3 of us laughing about I don't remember.
Passed out laughing slumped forward and crossed oncoming traffic in a diagonal fashion until we hit the curb. His best friend was in passenger seat. I was in back seat. Passenger tried to steer with drivers weight on steering wheel.
See, this is a big guy. He drove a pacer at the time, a very small car, and the steering wheel touched the bottom of his gut at all times.
He managed to avoid getting hit, but missed the parking lot driveway entrance by half the car width. We jumped the curb and made it into the lot. He put the car in neutral, and we waited for driver to wake up.
Passenger sez, straight faced, boy, that was kinda scary wasn't it? I lost it laughing again.
