it's funny watching this now as everyone was down on growth stocks, then I realized this is 2 years old. The last 5 months schg shot up 50% but only got back to 2021 levels. Will it keep going or taper off. Let me buy it, it will drop for sure.
My dad retired on QQQ and MSFT bought at the low in 2003 at $25 per shr and again bought more in 2009 at the meltdown low of $25. Getting 4,000 shrs for $100,000. He never sells as he hates to bother with the forms and pay capital gains taxes. Current value with Q's at 400 per shr = $1,600,000. Key is buy when blood is in the streets and hold forever.
I’m working on an investor study about this. Can your dad participate? If he can verify everything you just said with a paper trail, I’d like to chat with him. He might have a story that needs to be heard. Ron
Thats comforting knowing a big portion of his investment is from QQQ, i bought qqqm not too long ago and I’m planning to DCA in it for the long term! I believe its going to do very well over the next few decades.
Great battle. I'm cheap, so I would go with SCHG due to the great combo of low cost and high returns. Great for those who are moderately aggressive and young. However, QQQ returns make the higher expense ratio (5x higher than SCHG) worth it if someone is trying to be extremely aggressive.
I was thinking QQQM just before Jessica said it. But I would probably buy SCHG based on price alone. But I already have MGK with low cost basis after having owned it for nearly 12 years. I always like a good battle on a Sunday morning.
Hi Dave, Jessica surprised me with her QQQM wild card. Not the pick itself but her just using the wild card. And I'm glad she did! We have an upcoming battle of MGK within the next 1-2 weeks vs. a Fidelity mutual fund. Should be fun. Best, Ron
I am so glad I listened to this again because of the QQQM tip! I am buying it because I really believe in it long-term. Tech will become even more important---Data, Genomics, and even major high-tech break-through advancement in agriculture.
John: I concur with you about our judges. I'm just as blown away with the insightful takes they drop on us - as everybody else. Week in and week out, this is what I seek to deliver. Informed viewpoints lead to informed choices, which hopefully leads to profitable outcomes. RD
@@CardsHoundsome guy said in a comment on this vid QQQ/M has 5x higher growth than SCHG which idk if it’s true or not but that’s how he justified QQQ/M higher ER over SCHG. me personally I might go SCHG bc of the 0.04ER and I listen to John Bogle lol. With that being said 5x growth is outstanding but this will be a minority position in a dividend fund so I think lower ER and “similar growth” would be more beneficial over time so my overall pick would be SCHG. then QQQM then VGT if you want pure tech
This was a fun and informative way to get some good insight into the differences between these tickers. I appreciated Jessica's wildcard. Sometimes it can be hard to find all the lower cost versions of other great ETFs. Mike mentioned in his mystery slot that he argues there are better ways to capture growth than market cap passive and I was wondering if anyone might be able to speak to that.
Thank you for very helpful and informative videos. I am interested to watch a comparison between international dividend etf. Vanguard vs Schwab vs Fidelity vs Wisdom Tree. Thank you
Growth vs. Dividends? This is like Picasso vs. Miro. Who's better? In truth, they're both great. They're also both Spanish. But so was Dali. But that doesn't mean he was a better artist vs. Picasso or Miro. Not unless you're a surrealist nutcase. Then you vote for Dali all day long. Anyway, there's probably room for both dividends and growth inside a portfolio. And the emphasis of one strategy over the other will largely depend on your 1) age, 2) retirement target date, and 3) your risk tolerance. For example, if you're closer to retirement or already in retirement, then dividends will probably play a more prominent role inside your portfolio - because you want the passive dividend income to sustain your lifestyle. On the other hand, growth would play a bigger role if you're younger with many many years away from retirement. The focus is growing capital vs. generating income on it. Best, Ron
I am interested Private credit/equity ETFs. There are three that I know of - VPC, PSP and PEX. They are not identical so one cannot make direct comparisons on simple metrics like fees. Nick
Growth ETFs to the MOON! I hold QQQM (basically the same NASDAQ 100, but lower liquidity and lower expense @0.15%), I like the high concentration in the top 10 big tech and consumer companies. For me, I like low cost indexing but I almost view it as stock picking, because I would love to own shares in all those companies. The Q's make that more realistic and easy.
I put a 100% into my Charles Schwab brokerage account, SWPPX. I changed it to SCHD and SCHG, 50/50. My goal and many others is try to out perform the S&P 500. Should I stick with SCHD/SCHG OR should add another ETF to SCHD/SCHG or just leave it? Looking for thoughts and suggestions?

Love your videos and this one was great especially the qqqm wild card! I would love to hear about ftec vs vgt. I have some money already in vgt and I'm ready to dump some more however I just recently learned that ftec is much cheaper but it hasn't been around too long. Would it be a better buy than vgt?
THS-NYC: Your FTEC vs. VGT battle request has been duly noted. And I concur with you about the QQQM wild card choice. Jessica came ready and she dropped it at the perfect time. Thank you again for watching the show. Please tell your 10 million friends about us and don't forget to subscribe. See you again soon! Ron
FTEC is only 0.08% expense ratio with a 0.04% spread, but VGT is a 0.10% expense ratio with a 0.03% spread. Realistically total cost of ownership is basically the same, but VGT does eke out by 0.01%. Don't forget liquidity when thinking about these smaller ETFs. Also, don't worry so much about a few basis points that you spend more time on it than the money you'd save ;)
VGT has better performance and more volume. All FTEC has in it's favor is a slightly lower expense ratio. I like FTEC because I'm cheap, but looking at the whole package, I would have to give VGT the win.
Jessica almost nailed the appeal and--and wild card nature of--the QQQ. There are over 490 different ways to invest in the N100. A huge chunk of those products are different ETF's and Funds, all doing the same thing....buying the N100 component stocks. So it's not VOOG vs QQQ. Not at all. It's VOOG VS QQQ+490 other products. The indexes, like every stock, moves based on supply and demand. All those billions of dollars flowing into the N100 related products results in huge demand for the shares that make up the N100, as those stocks are bought as holdings by these N100 products (not all, but the vast majority). It's a pipeline of continuous demand
AB: The historical numbers certainly don't lie. But it's a trade that will take "SSP" as I call it - stamina, stomach and perseverance - especially when the next bear market shows up. And it's not a matter of "if" but "when." Take care, Ron
You need to read about volatility decay. It's easy to say that TQQQ is a winner when we've just had a decade of insane growth. See what happens with a year or two of sideways movement and then judge.

I like 10% VUG 10% SCHG 10% QQQM 7% VB for my growth part of portfolio!

SCHG + SCHD = Batman & Robin.
Good analogy. Thanks for your OUTSTANDING ETF Battles suggestion! Keep them coming. Best, Ron
NO SCHB?
SCHD is garbage 😮
Jessica's wildcard is always great and surprisingly the choice I picked for my portfolio.
VUG vs SCHG vs VOOG vs MGK
Hi Andrew, we have an upcoming ETF battle with MGK. Gonna be a BIG ONE! Thanks for watching. Ron

I’ve chosen QQQM as well.. good battle. I have my growth etfs split 50/50 between QQQM and SCHG
Thank you Cama for dropping. Glad you enjoyed the show. Ron
iv also 50/50 in both but i like qqqm but not sure if its worth going 60/40
I’m actually trying to decide between these two, can someone explain why I might want qqqm vs schg

Another great video! Can you do a REIT ETF battle? XLRE, SRVR... something like that?
Hi Dennis, our next ETF Battle is a REIT showdown. stay tuned! Thx, Ron
I really like your show and expert panelists.
Thank you very much!
I love your show, it is helping me smarter ,
Thank you

Which ETF do you like in a raising rate environment? SPIB VS VCIT?
Now you're talking. I like this type of current market environment ETF content. Good suggestion. Are you enjoying ETF Battles? Ron
Yes enjoying! Looking forward to this video regarding the battle between these funds. Thanks Ron.
Love the content! Keep them coming!
Thanks! Will do. RD

SCHG SPLG and FTEC 😊😅😂
