    What an interesting set up. Unusual to see 2 huge machines working so close together

    • @PAmining
      @PAmining  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's actually pretty common if two machines are specked out for a job like this. Normally each excavator would work on a different bench or further away from the other machine but occasionally the two will work together depending on what's drilled and blasted at the time.

    So nice to be able to get into a position that you can film all this great stuff going on ! (you lucky guy) a great video thanks so much what can I say awesome.

      Haha, yes being down close to the action is the best! Thank you; I'm glad you enjoyed it!

    Wow. Another great video Justin. If one excavator and truck aren't enough then two of each are even better. Just wondering why they had two excavators on this bench and not just one? Love the vids. Keep them coming.

      Normally each excavator works a different bench but occasionally the two will work together depending on what's drilled and blasted at the time. The faster the rock gets moved, the faster they get down onto the coal. Thanks!

    this always seemed to make sense to me having equipment from only one manufacturer such as cat or komatsu that way you can kinda anticipate problems and stock up on some parts.. I know in reality a lot of companies buy whatever is available either by product availability or price range

    man Justin You got it made my freind to be able to just set N film N watch all these monsters! at work bud! Ty for all you do for all of us viewers I been in the machines all my life lol but that's not near as cool as just watchin them work!! ;-)

    Everything looks big until that WA500 loader drives up and looks tiny, then you realize those other machines are HUGE.

      You need to get close to appreciate the size! Thanks

      Then there's the fact these aren't even big machines. Just the small of the big hahah.

    You know you watch too many pa mining videos when you notice the bucket teeth are worn out on the left machine in the first five seconds.

    • @PAmining
      @PAmining  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha, yeah I can see it becoming addictive lol. Yes the rock here is an abrasive sandstone and conglomerate mix. Once these machines get down deeper into the harder rock the teeth need replacing after just 3 weeks.

      Potsville conglomerate...I'll never forget that episode of dirty jobs...pa deep mines are just as wicked as they are here in ky...

    I appears the hoe operator on the left of the screen is out performing the operator on the right. I see the cycle times of the operator on the left are far faster and his movement looks to be more efficient because his swing time from scoop to dump is less as he has a tendancy to move the house far less total degrees between cycles. I was kind of suprised to see the operator on the right of the screen actually cycling more than 180 degrees at times. Maybe to avoid swinging where the Wa500 was cleaning up? Either way very cool video. I really think you do a great job. Great operators there all around eh? Also, wouldn't you think a face shovel would work better? They would never really have to be sitting precariously ontop of a loudout pile, and a face shovel as opposed to a hoe naturally cleans up the work area as it works......

    If you've got it, flaunt it! Was that a drill running dry behind or did you have a bit of a fire? Looked interesting and another fine job!

    • @PAmining
      @PAmining  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      These actually replaced two draglines when the job switched over to a shovel/truck setup under new ownership. A Marion 7400 and a Manitowoc 4600 were replaced here.

      No actually they are both 2016s. The unit to the left was commissioned 3 months earlier than the one to the right.

    Is that smoke or dust coming off of what looks like coal (to this untrained eye)?

    • @PAmining
      @PAmining  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That would be steam from the shot.
