I am from South Carolina as well and saw the solar eclipse. I had pretty high anticipation for that event, and it still was well beyond my expectations. If you have the opportunity to be in the path of totality and witness a full eclipse, you should definitely do it. It helps if you understand photography and use the right equipment. A cell phone camera just won't hack it.
At totality (near noon) the sky is dark overhead and grades to sunset colors at the horizon, all 360 degrees.
The moon is a dark disk, with the corona of the sun visible flaring out around it. Depending on exposure, you can make out some detail in the corona. If you are very lucky, just as the sun begins to reappear from behind the moon you might catch the "diamond ring effect" part of which is an artifact of lens flare and internal reflections from the lens elements.
You need a fairly long telephoto lens to fill the frame with the eclipse, something on the order of 600 mm.

“Most of the people who think they have rejected God have really only rejected a caricature of him.” - Rich Hannon
When my dad was a boy (over 100 years ago), he received extensive instruction in ostensibly Christian traditions.
Three other things profoundly influenced his thinking, however. 1: His father (my grandfather) read the Bible aloud to the whole family every day. 2: My grandfather wasn’t Hebrew but he was the caretaker for the Hebrew cemetery in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. One of his “benefits” was the use of a three-room house (and a large garden plot) on the cemetery grounds. So the whole family learned things about the beliefs and practices of some of the Hebrews in Pittsburgh. 3: The worship services my dad’s family attended had the benefit of a liturgical reading from the Psalms, a reading from the Gospels and a reading from the Epistles each Sunday.
When Dad was in his twenties (in the 1920s), he learned about John Wycliffe, a theologian who defied tradition in the fourteenth century by a) declaring that the Bible was more authoritative than traditions and by b) translating the Bible into Middle English. Whereas my grandfather had been diligent about reading the Bible, Dad became diligent about studying it.
Dad adopted the five solae of the protestant reformation and Dad agreed with Wycliffe and Martin Luther that the bread and wine of the Lord’s supper is not transformed by the ceremony of the mass into the body and blood of Jesus. Dad also agreed with Wycliffe that death is an “unconscious sleep between death and the resurrection” and with Luther that death “is a fine, sweet and brief sleep”.
Dad didn’t agree with John Calvin that God decided before we were born who would be saved and who would be lost but Dad did agree with Calvin that it is God who will decide - not any priest on earth (as millions had been encouraged to believe before Calvin mounted his very specific challenge to that belief).
Dad agreed with the anabaptist emphasis on believers' baptism and with the baptist emphasis on immersion.
Dad didn’t abandon all of the traditions he had been taught as a boy but he tried to teach my siblings and me his reasons for discarding some of them. He told me the most important disagreement he had with his more traditional upbringing was with the doctrine that clergy should interpret scripture for the laity - which is why I always thought of Dad’s religion as personal - not institutional. Several times when I was a boy, he urged me to read for myself, study for myself and think for myself.
Several times over the last fifty years, I’ve asked people who called themselves “atheists” to tell me about the God they had rejected. In each case so far, the answer was a list of doctrines that my dad rejected when he was in his twenties and that I have never adopted.
I mention all of the above as a way of suggesting that agnosticism and atheism are not the only alternatives to the traditions (and traditional interpretations) that are widely considered Christian.

    • @p.doetsch6209
      @p.doetsch6209 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Every atheist has their own reasons for rejecting Christianity. Some have rejected Christianity due to the very conflict created by your dad which was that he rejected Christ's Church in favor of his own made-made beliefs such as sola scriptura. By creating his own belief system that was not handed down by the Apostles and by being a sectarian who didn't point to the Apostles, all Protestants cause disbelief and scandal to the world.

Do you think the Russian Orthodox patriarch of Moscow, Vladimir Mikhailovich Gundyayev (aka Patriarch Kirill) considers himself to have the authority Jesus gave to his apostles?
Do you think Patriarch Kirill thinks considers it to be anti-Christian for the government of Ukraine to permit freedom for protestants and for the adherents of Islam and traditional Judaism?
Do you think Mr. Putin wants to be remembered as someone who Made Russia Great Again?
I won’t ask you to decide whether Mr. Putin’s motives are sincere but do you think he calculates that collusion with Patriarch Kirill will make it easier to motivate Russian Orthodox soldiers to try to bring Ukraine under the authority of both the civil government in Moscow and the authority of Patriarch Kirill?

As a former believer in Christianity turned agnostic non-theist, I disagree with Watkins on his take on the moral argument for God. The moral argument is the weakest argument for theism.
Morality is the cognitive ability innate in social creatures which enables them to distinguish what is good (preferable), and evil (not preferable), and is derived from empathy and reciprocity, in which functions to facilitate cohesion within the social group, and has come about through evolution. Morality doesn't exist outside of social creatures. When a volcano erupts and kills hundreds of people, it is not an immoral or evil volcano.
You don't need a God to have morality or to be moral, so it's not an argument that one can derive the existence of God from.
P.S. Hats off to Cameron for having more interviews with those of opposing views to his.

That would imply that the existence of that entity is self-contradictory. However, that isn't usually something people propose, so in most cases I don't think it demonstrates anything.

I find the atrocities committed or commanded by the old testament god to be quite problematic.
*This website is designed to spread the vicious truth about the Bible. For far too long priests and preachers have completely ignored the vicious criminal acts that the Bible promotes. The so called God of the Bible makes Osama Bin Laden look like a Boy Scout. This God, according to the Bible, is directly responsible for many mass-murders, rapes, pillage, plunder, slavery, child abuse and killing, not to mention the killing of unborn children.* I have included references to the Biblical passages, so grab your Bible and follow along.
*It always amazes me how many times this God orders the killing of innocent people even after the Ten Commandments said Thou shall not kill.* For example, God kills 70,000 innocent people because David ordered a census of the people (1 Chronicles 21).
God also orders the destruction of 60 cities so that the Israelites can live there. He orders the killing of all the men, women, and children of each city, and the looting of all of value (Deuteronomy 3). He orders another attack and the killing of all the living creatures of the city: men and women, young, and old, as well as oxen sheep, and asses (Joshua 6). In Judges 21 He orders the murder of all the people of Jabesh-gilead, except for the virgin girls who were taken to be forcibly raped and married. When they wanted more virgins, God told them to hide alongside the road and when they saw a girl they liked, kidnap her and forcibly rape her and make her your wife!
*Just about every other page in the Old Testament has God killing somebody!* In 2 Kings 10:18-27, God orders the murder of all the worshipers of a different god in their very own church! In total God kills 371,186 people directly and orders another 1,862,265 people murdered
The God of the Bible also allows slavery, including selling your own daughter as a sex slave (Exodus 21:1-11), child abuse (Judges 11:29-40 & Isaiah 13:16), and bashing babies against rocks (Hosea 13:16 & Psalms 137:9). ***This type of criminal behavior should shock any moral person.***
***Murder, rape, pillage, plunder, slavery, and child abuse can not be justified by saying that some god says it’s OK.*** If more people would actually sit down and read the Bible there would be a lot more atheists like myself. *Jesus also promoted the idea that all men should castrate themselves to go to heaven:* For there are eunuchs, that were so born from their mother’s womb: and there are eunuchs, that were made eunuchs by men: and there are eunuchs, that made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it (Matthew 19:12). *I don’t know why anyone would follow the teachings of someone who literally tells all men to cut off their privates.*
The God of the Bible also was a big fan of ritual human sacrifice and animal sacrifice.
*And just in case you are thinking that the evil and immoral laws of the Old Testament are no longer in effect, perhaps you should read where Jesus makes it perfectly clear:* It is easier for Heaven and Earth to pass away than for the smallest part of the letter of the law to become invalid (Luke 16:17). There are many more quotes on this topic at my Do Not Ignore the Old Testament web page.

Imagination is powerful to embrace the first and oldest truth, Christians do favor limitations a lot, good luck! Ecclesiastes 3:15: “That which is, already has been; that which is to be, already has been; and God seeks what has been driven away.” The “natural man” cannot grasp that, for to him reality is based only on the evidence of the senses. The man of reason could justify the verse’s end, saying if it has any meaning then the writer must mean recurrence. The sun comes every day and the moon completes its cycle and the seasons come and go. If we took a picture of the universe today, the scientists can compute how long it will take to return to this point in the picture. So the intellectual man could justify the verse; but that is not what is meant, for it is addressed not to the man of reason or the man of sense, but to the man of Imagination. What is it all about? “That which is, already has been; that which is to be, already has been, and God seeks what has been driven away.”

Their interactions were like those of two galaxies merging, spinning and merging, sometimes passing through each other, dancing and mixing. From these interactions, Jesus Christ was born, known at the time of "Autogenes", which means Self-Generated One. Alongside Jesus, two other facets of God were born, Jehovah and the Holy Spirit, these three being the Trinity of Christianity, with each being one third of the other and being three facets of the Ineffable Father, that together reveal the One and True God.

Welcome to the “The Goblet of the Truth”!
To the majority of humanity on planet Earth it is hardly known, that the true prophets who walked the Earth, originated solely from the Nokodemion lineage.
It was this seven-fold lineage of true prophets who brought forth the “Teaching of the prophets”, that is to say, the teaching of the Truth, the teaching of the Spirit and the teaching of Life.
In the early days, this unique teaching was also known as the “Goblet of the Truth”.
Unfortunately, the human beings of Earth misunderstood the teaching, endlessly falsified it and misused it for religious purposes.
It was first thanks to the seventh prophet of the Nokodemion lineage, “Billy” Eduard Albert Meier, that we now here on Earth finally have a clean true version of these unique teachings.
The Goblet of truth is without any doubt “Billy” Eduard Albert Meier’s greatest work and outstanding effort on bringing Earth mankind the NON-corrupted, NON-manipulated, NON-religious teaching of truth, teaching of spirit and teaching of life.
The book contains the teachings of all the seven prophets, namely:
    1.Henoch (Enoch) (3 February 9308 BCE to 1 January 8942 BCE).
    2. Elia (Elijah) (5 February 891 BCE to 4 June 780 BCE).
    3. Jesaja (Isaiah) (7 February 772 BCE to 5 May 690 BCE).
    4. Jeremia (Jeremiah) (9 February 662 BCE to 3 September 580 BCE).
    5. Jmmanuel (Immanuel) (3 February 02 BCE to 9 May 111 CE).
    6. Mohammed (19 February 571 CE to 8 June 632 CE).
    7. “Billy” Eduard Albert Meier, BEAM (February 3, 1937)
As from an inexhaustible wellspring, vast knowledge emanates from the Goblet of the Truth, from which great wisdom comes forth, from which, in turn, love, peace, freedom and harmony result, as well as an integration of a beneficial balance, joyfulness and happiness.
We human beings should understand the necessity of leaving the false teachings of all religions behind us and turn to the correct way of thinking and living, which involves taking responsibility for one’s own thoughts and actions, because everything is built on the law of cause and effect, interaction, interdependence, etc.
In time, more and more people will turn to the truth, and this book will be one of the main factors for the spreading of this very truth.

The moral agents argument is problematic, because moral agency can easily be described through evolution, and the neurological growth of the species moving towards bettering our environment for one another through instinctual drivers. A godly entity being responsible for moral agency is problematic because that entity isn't accessible to everyone, or anyone really, they just think they have access to it. Because of that, everyone has their own version of what they think is their gods morality, and even within "Christianity" there are thousands of different versions of what is moral. It gets more complicated when you have 2 billion Muslims who have millions of different versions of their gods morality, or 1.5 billion Hindus with millions of different versions of their gods morality. Religion doesn't provide objective morality, and it makes the conversation of what is best for a community much harder.

It seems that Ben has been significantly influenced by Hitch. I'd like to know if he has read his memoir "HItch-22" or if he has listened to Alex O'Connor's (formerly CosmicSkeptic's) video, "The Sophistry of Christopher Hitchens". It seems from the latter at least that many, most, or even all of Hitchens's arguments in favor of atheism were severely wanting.
I've just today heard that he finds the "You Deny One Less God" cringe-worthy. How I wonder does Ben respond to the fact that so many of the leading popular atheists spew so much of peurility? Dawkins, Barker, and Shermer have all regurgitated this pablum. We aren't talking about some football hooligan atheist who has had about 10 drinks too many in the pub after the game. Piffle from such might be excusable. We are asking why the world's leading atheist populizers spew it. Using the form of Ben's, "Why I am an Atheist" essay, it would appear that the options are limited to 1) They are too unaware to see the cringe-worthiness of the 'argument', or 2) They are propagandists, unfazed by the need to employ sophism anytime, anyplace - whatever it takes to win the game.
Ben's ability to see the "You Deny One Less God" as cringe-worthy in fact is in line with his fellow atheist who says of Dawkins's book, "Second, unlike the new atheists, I take scholarship seriously. I have written that The God Delusion made me ashamed to be an atheist and I meant it."

i am curious about anyone abandoning faith (which could've had happened to me too a few times!!!) - regardless of reasons such as the problem of evil, the inerrancy of the Scriptures, the mysteries, the science, evolution, etc. - my question to all would be: WHAT DO YOU DO WITH JESUS? He is so deeply not just into the Bible, but creation, space, logic, philosophy, art, nature, dreams, supernatural! His story is impossible to make up. His character is even more impossible to make up because no one would be able to make it up because it's not a work of humans! His own disciples failed Him and His own family rejected Him, and He won people's arguments in the unheard wisdom, and He brought deeper commandments so that what - He would be invented? hmmm, extremely unlikely.
every hero in any story/movie points to the Savior - the true myth, Christ. this was Tolkien's argument to C.S. Lewis before he converted. but SERIOUSLY - the case of Jesus' divinity and resurrection is so overwhelming - not to mention PERSONAL EXPERIENCE with Him if you belong to Him!!! so, again - WHAT DO YOU DO WITH JESUS when you're about to leave the faith because of science or the problem of evil? the truth about Him does not disappear!!! just because you have paradoxes and though questions should not logically disprove Jesus' existence or divinity.

And I’m all for charitable discourse and for speaking the truth in love, but this goes WAY further than that. Unbelievers and their unbiblical ideologies are constantly being excused and celebrated and promoted on this channel, by admission and as if it were a good thing. That’s wrong. What part hath he that believeth with an infidel? I’m not for censorship, I’m against evangelizing false religions. We’re supposed to abhor that which is evil, not make it look good to our 120K subscribers.

nothing can exists only if nothing is something, an impossibility possible or miracle done by God, that can do the impossible possible. The truth has no master and everybody can be right or wrong. The standard under which we judge the truth of what establish what is the truth is the consequences. A bridge built with the wrong calculations would fall. The absolute truth would be known when we die and the mind is transformed into the past of God, that is present and would be future, I am the same and different person than i was yesterday and I would be tomorrow impossibility possible miracle God, to judge ourselves which perfect justice, perfect knowledge for what we have done to Ourself. All would know all. I offer a unique understanding of the miracle of Life and Death, everything that ever existed,,exists and would exist, one eternal reality. The God’s paradox is the it is impossible to exist existence without the existence of infinitude, that is impossible. The God’s paradox is solved by being the impossibility possible because is a miracle of God. Do the philosophical arguments for the existence of God carry the same weight of evidence or proof as the arguments for the existence of unicorns like atheists want others to believe? Logic and observation is a method to discover the truth used by the scientific method. Why the logical proposition “if everything needed to be created nothing would exist.” Is understood by religious people and kids and rejected by atheists as fallacious or false? Because humanity choose to ignore, reject the arguments that contradict their vision of reality. The God’s paradox has to be discussed to save infinite lives as evidence of a miracle to proof the existence of God and end the encysted debate between religious people and atheists because God exists and the religious god doesn’t.

This has nothing and everything to do with the video but please listen if you want to otherwise leave it alone and ignore it. Hello my name is Justin and I'm a fellow Christian and Apologist but I'm also a college student. I'm not a closed minded Theist as I have nothing against Atheists or unbelievers as I speak to them often to understand their reasons for unbelief but we as Christians are convinced of God's Existence due to many real factors). I'm not trying to convert anyone or convince anyone to become Christians as that's The Holy Spirit's job to help people believe but only explain why I believe in Jesus Christ. There's actually evidence of God's Existence in Christianity. First of all there's proof that Jesus of Nazareth existed in history since the writings of Tacitus, Josephus Flavius, Pliny the younger and other historical documents prove that He was living two thousand years ago that even scholars both religious and Atheists agree with historically speaking but not that He's The Divine Son of God because obviously they don't.
I'm going to give you historical and archeological evidence for God's Existence as The Scriptures have prophecies that predate the events recorded in them by several millennia including Matthew, Hosea and Zechariah which prophesy accurately of the people of Israel becoming a nation again after over 1900 years of being scattered around the nations since the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. spoken of by Christ in Matthew 23:29-24:3 and returning to their homeland after The Holocaust with Jerusalem as their capital in 1948 exactly as Jesus The Christ said. The prophets including Daniel spoke of the time where several world empires would arise and fall including the Babylonian kingdom, Medes and Persians, Roman Empire, and Saladin and the Muslims which went in consecutive order for the past few millennia. The people of Israel becoming a nation after The Holocaust in 1948 (ironically the melting point of gold as God compares Israel to gold that's tested in fire in Zechariah 13:8 and Jeremiah 16:15) exactly how Jesus The Christ said would happen since God us everything to come in The Scriptures and not just because people were working towards as Atheists claim which are impossible for any regular man to predict.
Just before anyone says Christianity is a white man's religion made to oppress blacks during slavery you obviously aren't aware that the first Christians were Jews in The Middle East and that Christianity just like any religion can be used by evil and corrupt people to oppress others but you forget that the first Abolitionists/Civil Rights activists were Christians who sought to abolish slavery, racism, segregation, injustice and prejudice throughout American history. Jesus The Christ loves you enough not to give you what we all deserve which is God's Wrath by His Own Blood. Charles Darwin didn't originally come up with The Theory of Evolution over 200 years ago as it is mentioned in the writings of Ancient Greeks who believed in Demons that gave knowledge to philosophers.
Evolution makes no sense when nothing has evolved after thousands of years of human history and supposedly the first creature came from primordial sludge several millions of years
ago funny how they won't believe that God an Eternal Almighty Spirit Being created us from the Earth) which came from a supermassive expansion of matter at high temperature that inexplicably created everything in the known universe that supposedly came from nothing billions of years ago. How did the organs evolve before there were bones, skin, substance and how did any creatures see before eyes evolved? I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " Origin of The Species" I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " Origin of The Species" and I'm not convinced of but not macro or micro Evolution because there's no evidence of it nor clear observable examples of it where living creatures evolve into other kinds of species plus the fact that fossils don't show evidence of evolution and genetic entropy rules out evolution. The question begs how did two genders evolve from a common ancestor with a perfectly hospitable and sustainable environment with breathable oxygen and resources to survive on inexplicably? Atheists have the burden of proof to explain how everything came to be and why our existence is possible without the Existence of God from an godless perspective just as Christians have to provide evidence of God's Existence and the validity of His Word.
Evolution requires life to already exist in order to take any effect in living organisms so it doesn't account for the existence of Life and reality. Also evolution is impossible because it goes against The Law of entropy and the second Law of thermodynamics because evolution makes things better whereas nothing continues to get better but decays and turns to absolute destruction in the end. Mark Ridley an Evolutionist said "No evolutionist whether gradualist or punctuationist uses the fossil record as evidence in favor of The Theory of Darwinian Evolution as opposed to special Creation". God's Existence is made perfectly known and observable in the universe as demonstrated in His Handiwork in the intelligently designed manner that Creation was made, human consciences and consciousness historical and archaeological evidence of God's Word being valid history, fulfillment of Bible Prophecies God in His Holiness and Righteousness could give us what we deserve in Hell for our since but He's merciful to give us free will to choose to accept or reject His gift of salvation by grace through faith in His Son Jesus. I don't mean this is any condescending manner but if you'd like to discuss The Scriptures with me or have me listen to your view on anything my instagram account is Savage Christian Kombatant.

Very few believers understand that a person cannot possibly be born again until they have allowed the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ to transform them into someone who no longer sins.
Scripture makes it very clear that anyone who sins belongs to the devil and anyone who is born of God does not and cannot sin. Now even though God commanded us not to sin there are billions in this world who foolishly believe that they can never stop sinning. So realize that the vast majority of believers certainly are not Christians because most have never allowed the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ to sanctify their hearts in God’s one and only truth in order to overcome their sins. And just because someone may claim to believe in Jesus Christ does not make that person a Christian either since even sinful demons also believe in Jesus Christ.
“Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.”
    ‭‭I John‬ ‭3:4‬ ‭NKJV
“And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“HE WHO SINS IS OF THE DEVIL, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. WHOEVER HAS BEEN BORN OF GOD DOES NOT SIN, for His seed remains in him; AND HE CANNOT SIN, because he has been born of God.”
    ‭‭I John‬ ‭3:8-9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
    ‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:2‬ ‭ESV
Now the main reason that the majority of believers are so lost and deceived is because they have chosen to seek their knowledge of God from the many false religions and preachers of this fallen world instead of learning God’s truth directly from Jesus Himself. Many of them have clearly overlooked the fact that Jesus is alive and He commanded us to follow Him.
Through His sacrifice on the cross Jesus gave us the ability to hear God’s voice and learn God’s truth directly from Him through His Holy Spirit that will dwell inside anyone who truly understands and believes. Most believers are not able to hear the voice of Jesus Christ though and this is because they did not comprehend the importance behind testing the Spirits as commanded in 1 John 4 while others do not even understand how it is done.
“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭10:27‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭16:7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever- the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭14:15-18‬ ‭NKJV‬
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.”
    ‭‭I John‬ ‭4:1-3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Scripture relates that Jesus is the same always and that He will be with us until the end of age. Jesus did not sin of course and Jesus never got sick because sin and sickness is strictly of the devil and since Jesus never changes this is why Jesus still heals even today. Scripture clearly relates that sin will bring sickness into our lives but scripture also reveals how it is possible for a believer to stop sinning. Anyone who is truly being guided by the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ is no longer living by the desires of their sinful flesh and they cannot possible sin nor can they ever get sick since they are now a child who has born with the Spirit of God. So realize that anyone who truly possesses the Holy Spirit and who is truly allowing the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ to guide them in their life cannot possibly sin since they are now being guided by the Spirit of God who is Holy and pure and who cannot sin.
“We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.”
    ‭‭I John‬ ‭5:18‬ ‭NKJV
“But the one who was healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn, a multitude being in that place. Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭5:13-14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
God does not lie so Jesus would have never instructed the man that He had healed to sin no more if it were impossible for the man to stop sinning. Plus what this above scripture is clearly revealing is how it was the man’s sin that brought the devils afflictions into his life. This is why Jesus warned him that if he did not stop sinning then a worse affliction could come upon him.
“Fools, because of their transgression, And because of their iniquities, were afflicted.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭107:17‬ ‭NKJV‬
‬Know what this scripture means? First transgression, it means an act that goes against a rule, a law or a code of conduct. Next iniquity, it means a wicked act or thing, sin. Finally, affliction, it means something that causes persistent pain or suffering. So this scripture is saying that you are a fool if you do not follow God’s laws and commands and you go and sin because you will then have pain, suffering and sickness.
Now in Deuteronomy 28 God related His blessings for those who would obey Him and the curses that will occur on anyone who chooses to live in sin and disobedience. Every type of sickness is definitely listed as a curse so any sickness in your life clearly reveals that you are a sinner who lacks knowledge of scripture and you are disobeying God.
“If you do not carefully observe all the words of this law that are written in this book, that you may fear this glorious and awesome name, THE Lord YOUR GOD, then the LORD will bring upon you and your descendants extraordinary plagues-great and prolonged plagues-and serious and prolonged sicknesses. Moreover He will bring back on you all the diseases of Egypt, of which you were afraid, and they shall cling to you. Also EVERY SICKNESS and every plague, which is not written in this Book of the Law, will the LORD bring upon you until you are destroyed.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭28:58-61‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Next, God made it very clear that He would remove sickness and disease from anyone who did not sin and who would obey what He commanded in scripture. This is why the devil can no longer put his afflictions on anyone who is truly born of God since they are now someone who is being guided by God’s Holy Spirit and they can no longer sin.
“And said, “If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you.”
    ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭15:26‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“So you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days.”
    ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭23:25-26‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“And the LORD will take away from you all sickness, and will afflict you with none of the terrible diseases of Egypt which you have known, but will lay them on all those who hate you.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭7:15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Many do not realize that there are no scriptures that ever relate that a sinner belongs to God or that a sinner is a child of God. There are no scriptures that ever relate that a believer will always sin or that a believer can never stop sinning. There are no scriptures that ever relate that sickness would be a normal part of this life or that a Christian would possess sickness in their life.
There is only one truth from God, one and one alone and the rest is all lies that the deceived chose to believe. Sadly, more then 95% of believers are destined to perish since they continue in a life of ignorance and sin and this is mainly because they did not understand how to allow the Holy Spirit to sanctify their hearts in God’s one and only truth.
“And Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: “Though the number of the sons of Israel be as the sand of the sea, only a remnant of them will be saved.”
    ‭‭Romans‬ ‭9:27‬ ‭ESV
In closing, I can certainly testify to what I have revealed in this message because I am someone who has overcome sin and sickness in this lifetime by allowing the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ to sanctify my heart in God’s one and only truth through testing the Spirits. So if you do not possess these same blessings in your own life then you certainly are not being guided by the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ and you are definitely someone who is deceived in their beliefs.

@@jacoblee5796 yes child of Satan, I no longer sin and you just proved that you do possess the Holy Spirit and that the devil owns your sinful soul. Jesus was the only person who was born without sin but this certainly does not mean that a true believer can never stop sinning.
Anyone who truly possesses the Holy Spirit possesses the same power that raised Jesus from the dead and they can overcome any obstacle, especially sin. Jesus did not sin nor did Jesus ever get sick and if you are someone who is truly being guided by His Holy Spirit then it would be impossible for you to sin or to get sick as well. So your comment certainly proved that you are an unbelieving child of Satan who would not believe that overcoming sin through the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ is possible.
“Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
      ‭‭Mark‬ ‭9:23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.”
      ‭‭I Peter‬ ‭4:1-2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.”
      ‭‭I John‬ ‭3:4-9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”
      ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:21-23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
So scripture clearly states that whoever sins does not know God so that is certainly you. Whoever sins is of the devil and that is also certainly you! Whoever abides in God and is born of God cannot sin and does not sin so this is a child of God like me! Scripture also relates that sin is lawlessness and Jesus clearly stated that anyone who practices lawlessness shall not enter the kingdom of God.
Anyone who believes that they can never stop sinning is simply a deceived believer who does not understand a thing in regards to scripture or the blessing that Jesus provided for all of mankind. So It is quite evident and clear that you do not understand that we are all born in sin and that God commanded us to overcome our sinful life so that we would then start doing His will by living a holy and righteous life through His Holy Spirit. This is why we needed a savior to teach us how to stop sinning and this is exactly what Jesus, Peter, Paul and John are relating to us in scripture.
Many deceived believers cannot comprehend what scripture is relating and they will often twist verses like 1 John 1:8-10 to try and justify why their wicked souls still sin.
“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.”
      ‭‭I John‬ ‭1:8-10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Since we are all born in sin and in ignorance of God’s word and truth John was relating how anyone who claims that they have never sinned at some time in their life is then deceived and they do not understand the truth that is being related in scripture. John was then saying that if we would repent and confess our sins to God then God is faithful to forgive us of our sins and He would then cleanse us from living a sinful and unrighteousness life. John then related that anyone who believes that they have never sinned in this life is then calling God a liar. But nowhere is John ever relating that a believer will always continue to sin or that a believer could never overcome their sins as you children of the devil often desire to believe.
The children who live in sin and who belong to the devil often like to use Paul as their justification for their sinful life. These lost souls are so deceived that they cannot comprehend what Paul was relating in scripture and so they often twist the meanings of Romans 3:10, 3:23 and 7. They fail to realize that in Romans 7 Paul was relating how hard it was for him to stop sinning in his previous life since he was living under the law. He then related how he was freed from following his sinful flesh by truly knowing Christ and living through His Spirit. These clueless souls are clearly overlooking how Paul related that he had died to sin and that he was no longer a slave to sin in Romans 6 and they also overlook how Paul related that if you continue to live by your sinful flesh instead of living through the Spirit then you will certainly die in Romans 8.
“For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.”
      ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:5-8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him. Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him. He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.”
      ‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3:14-16‬ ‭NIV‬‬‬
Now in regards to Romans 3:10 Paul is simply relating that none of us are righteous since we are all born in sin and this is why we needed a savior to teach us how to stop sinning. Romans 3:23 is actually stating the same exact thing since it is relating how we are all born in sin and so we all are falling short of the glory of God. Sometimes these children of the devil will even use Romans 6:23 to justify why they sin and they clearly have no idea that this scripture is relating that if you sin then you will eternally die, hence “the wages of sin is death.” Some will even try to use 1 John 2:1-2 to try and justify why they still sin.
“My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.”
      ‭‭I John‬ ‭2:1-2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
In the above scripture John is simply relating that because we all will sin that Jesus is the atonement for our sins and He certainly is not relating that we can never stop sinning.
Nowhere are any of these scriptures ever relating that a believer can never stop sinning or that they will always continue to sin though. Anyone who continues to sin certainly does not understand what Jesus related in Matthew 5 and 18 since Jesus clearly stated that we needed to remove whatever part of our flesh that was causing us to sin. Jesus made it very clear that it was better for us to live a life in this world with a maimed body that did not sin then it would be to possess a complete body that still sinned since the person who sinned would then be cast into the hell fire.
“If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.”
      ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:29-30‬ ‭NKJV‬
“If your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life lame or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet, to be cast into the everlasting fire. And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire.”
      ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭18:8-9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
This is the difference between a believer who is a Christian and a believer who is deceived. A deceived believer thinks that they will always sin and they will always have sickness in their life. A true Christian knows they can never sin nor can they ever get sick since they are living their life exactly “like Christ” through His Holy Spirit.
So it is quite evident and quite clear that you are just a deceived believer who fell for the devil’s lies and that is why you reason the way that you do. Your very own words have proven that you do not possess the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ and you are just an unbelieving child of Satan. That is why you still possess sin and sickness in your wicked life since your blinded eyes could not comprehend what scripture is relating and so you remained a sinner whose soul belongs to the devil and you certainly do not belong to God.

Nice and respectful guy, hope he truly comes to Christ one day. He has never known Christ, he has known religion. Atheism is the most faith requesting religion on this planet. We as humans think much of the thoughts of our brain and think we can make up good reasons to explain that God does not exist. But it always comes down to: ‘Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.’

However, the earth is not a planet, that is an atheist belief. The earth God created is stationary and flat just as the entire Bible has always told us. Erika, are you 100% sure that if you died today you would go to heaven?
      Do you know Jesus Christ?
I am convinced that most people who call themselves "Christian" know religion instead of Jesus Christ. Or they have created their own God in their head. That is why we must make sure that we know the God of the bible and know that we are truly saved.
Lay religion, Christian culture, and even politics aside. Someone who truly loves you is reaching out to you not willing that you should perish (2 Peter3), but that you be saved from the price of your sins.
With that said, how do you deal with your sin? Yes you. How many times have you lied, lusted, or stolen? I'm guilty, what about you? I hope you feel convicted.
But if you're going to reject the free gift of salvation, you ought to think about where you are going after death.
      Is this your mindset?
      Luke 12:19
“And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.”
Please please do not be this person that Jesus described here. I don't care how if you are in a ministry or even behind a pulpit. And their is no shame in getting saved.
      Matthew 7
21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
You see there will be professing Christians that were not actually saved.
      I want to help you.
      Matthew 18:3
"And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven."
Because of God's holiness we cannot be in his presence as we are in our sin. No matter how righteous one may appear everyone has sinned and one sin can lead to hell, but there is a way out. We don't deserve it but God made a way that we may become the righteousness of God (Romans 5). I want you to have 100% assurance of salvation.
      Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
      John 14
6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
      Romans 6
23For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
1 John 1:9 - If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
      1Corinthians 15:
      1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
      3For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
      Romans 10
9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13For WHOSOEVER shall CALL upon the name of the Lord shall be SAVED.
Here is the gospel straight and simple:
      1. Truly acknowledge that you have sinned against a perfect God and you are worthy of hell that can only be saved by the blood of Jesus Christ
      2. Believe that Jesus died for and covered all of your sins and rose again.
      3. Say to God that Jesus Christ he is your saviour.
Please let me know. I am praying for you, today is the day of salvation.
      2 Corinthians 5:17
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

Although "former believers turned atheists" always claim that they were sincere believers, since the scriptures are clear that once you are a sincere believer having trusted Christ for your eternal salvation, your salvation is eternal and begins the moment you become a believer (1 JOHN 5:13), the only logical conclusion is that they were deceived in their thinking that they were believers (OR they are using their claim deceptively to tear down the faith of true believers).

Exactly they were never believers or saved in the first place because they didn't understand why they should believe what they claimed to believe.

That is not the only logical conclusion. Either:
      1. He never believed
      2. Scripture is false (not likely)
      3. He is in a very dark part of his journey and will eventually return to faith
      4. Your interpretation of scripture is incorrect.
After reading the verse you provided, it’s almost certainly 4. I hope for Ben’s sake that it is also 3
