I stop smoking in one day with the help of Christ I just prayed hard while driving and listing to gospel music I was praying and crying and I felt the holy Spirit with me that day and the next day I had a cigarette laying beside me I turned it on and it did not taste right I thought it was old bought a pack of Newport brand new packed it it and it tasted even nastier I knew God took it away and gave me new lungs thank you Jesus...
That's exactly what just happened to me!!!! I broke down crying to him saying I'm weak I haven't been able to fast like he has been leading me to do and I can't stop smoking. I woke up the next day and lit a Newport and gagged. It tasted so bitter and nasty. God is so amazing 👏 he can do things for us we could never do for ourselves.

I was addicted to niccotine for 10 yrs and tried everything- Chantix, gum, patches, weaning off, hypnosis & therapy- nothing took away my INTENSE cravings, expect realizing Jesus is the chain breaker... so I fasted (not even for a full day) and he took away my cravings and I was able to quit!
That is absolutely amazing I am 17 and I was sat in my back garden today and all of a sudden I had this massive eardge to stop smoking cigarettes and I kept on praying and praying for the rest of the day as I was very temped to have one i failed at around 9 at night and I lighted up one had about half and felt very sick of it and I have thrown up too honestly praise Jesus I have been smoking since 14 years old and thanks to our Lord and saviour he has give me the strength to not touch one or even think about one since throwing up I am very blessed

Smoking is a garbage habit. I am addicted as well and wrestle daily with it.
I was able to quit smoking by using an e-cig and weening off the nicotine every few months. I also started to avoid triggering situations like consuming alcohol or going to places where people were smoking. It helped break the addiction and I no longer crave them at all.
I prayed day and night for a year for God to take it. One day I woke up and the habit was gone and now the smell repulses me. 40 years no smoke.
Stop feeding the habit. The cravings will go pray the Lord will lessen the symptoms but you must stop.
Its a war a struggle against the flesh and spirit....we need to deny our selves and keep your eyes on Jesus ....only Jesus can break that chain...so focus on him
We all struggle with something, whether it's cigs, fast food, television addicts, we all do something every day which is not putting God first, or doing as is written. We are supposed to be eating healthy but we all fall guilty of not doing that. There are so many things we do as humans, which we can't stop doing or even notice we are doing anything wrong. All I can say is speak to God about it and good luck x
I want to stop smoking 🚬 it's disgusting I hate that I ever started. My health is already shot at, I should stop but the cravings beat me. But I don't think God will not love you nor save you from smoking alone. Ask the Holy spirit to come into you. Fight the cravings. X
I managed to quit smoking weed, drinking alcohol and taking Adderall, but cigarettes are still an ongoing problem for me.

Me too. I don't drink, smoke weed or take drugs. Just cigarettes. I had a lung x-ray about six months ago and it was totally clear and I've been smoking for 40 years. I don't even have a cough but that's not to say that I'll never get lung cancer, I hope not. I want to quit but it's soooo hard. Just keep praying like I do that we can stop! God bless.
I use to smoke a pack if cigs everyday... then I quit and then a year later my sister's got me hooked on vaping. It's been hard to quit vaping...
Dean Domino. I am in the same exact boat as you. I quit drinking 🍸 and doing drugs July 16th of 2019, so its been over a year. Praise God. But I struggle with 🚬 and ☕. But there is hope. If God can help us quit drugs and alcohol, he can help us quit smoking cigs too. My problem is I literally enjoy smoking to be honest. Lord help me overcome this, and I hope you can overcome this as well. God bless.

I agree about breaking the addiction. Especially if you get sick from it. I dont get sick. I dont really cough and I still do the same amt of exercise. I started at age 13 in the 80s. We grew up smoking in grocery stores & hospitals. Guess I never considered it a sin. My biggest sins come out of my mouth. "Its not what goes in which defiles but what goes out". This is my last bad habit. Pray for me.

Eating sugar is detrimental to our temple, too. Let's face it. We are all enslaved by something. Pray and keep striving..imo.
And not to mention sugar is also a highly addictive substance more so than cocaine and one of the root causes of most metabolic diseases and one of the main fuels for cancers.

Food is different as we need food to survive, natural sugars are formed in many foods, fruits and vegetables. Smoking is not a need to survive. Gluttony is a sin intact, over eating to much, and I’m sure he would want us to eat healthy as well. But harm from food isn’t the same as harm from something that we don’t need at all

Over 40 years quit many times I found prayers for smoking it really helps there are some on u tube

Keep trying Stacy. It took me a number of times before I was able to quit for good. Keep praying and asking God to deliver you.
Imagine yourself in the wilderness with no cigarettes for a month, little food and some water to ration...or just picture the hospital ward ...praise JESUS for release for the addicted and enslaved, may this curse be lifted from them that seek oh LORD..in JESUS name we pray!!!

Please pray for me to stop smoking I've dealt with this sense I was 16 and I'm 37 now. I've been struggling to stop off and on over the years and want to stop now but it's so hard to stop I'm afraid of going to Hell. I need all the support I can't get.
Once your saved by GRACE alone your SEALED! Smoking cigarettes will NOT make you loose your salvation. Trust me I smoke too and like it hate it kinda thing but I KNOW it won't cost me my salvation. What did the apostle Paul say? He said the things I want to do I don't and the things I don't want to do, that I do oh what a wretched man I am. And he was saved. He was a special apostle to the body of Christ and even he struggled.

I'm smoking a cigarette right now and I'm filled with the Holy Spirit,
Was baptised by the Holy Spirit back in 2018, but just because smoking apparently won't take us to hell doesn't mean we shouldn't quit, same as being fat and gluttonous is wrong, same as swearing is wrong, same as fornication is wrong, we shouldn't insult God's grace.
We all mess up but we are supposed to do everything for God's glory, and we are supposed to live right to protect us from the enemy and to be a good example to unbelievers.
All of us fall short but at the same time we have to ask ourselves if this is bringing God glory or not.
If we truly love Him we will want to do better and beat our flesh into subjection as Paul put it so when we preach we aren't disqualified and condemned by our of filthy habits and actions.
If I am unsaved and I go to a church full of obese Christians who are smoking and swearing and wearing tiny outfits showing their butts I'm probably not going to be interested I'm what they have to tell because they have nothing I want and we are supposed to be a light in this dark world, not a bunch of bums who blend in with it.
That's my belief. Take it or leave it but I think it's a pretty sound belief.

Seeing as we're in the last days & knowing that - that in itself should be reason enough for me to stop smoking - but it's not😔. It's SO hard! Knowing what time we're all in just makes me smoke more. I pray about it, repent for it, but part of me (& I'm guessing this is the nature of the addiction, I don't know...)doesn't seem to want it badly enough. I know it's affecting me, my chest is rattley & I cough & wheeze when I laugh to hard, but I just seem so stuck in it. It's literally driving me crazy as I'm convincing myself that I won't be saved if I carry on & don't stop it. I dunno, just feel as though this is maybe, hopefully my last demon that I'm to conquer😏.

I had 3 cigs left in the pack.. And The holy Spirit has been convicting me for a while and I said aloud that I was going quit after those were gone. Then I heard (In my spirit) The Lord said, "Flush them" and I said huh? Again I heard "Flush them." Well, I was NOT about to disobey that voice because I knew it was Him. I know also that it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of The Mighty God. Read The Word for yourselves people, because without holiness NO man shall see God.

My worst nightmare giving up these wretched things!!!!!!!! No you don't lose your salvation as long as you smoke on your own and don't open the doors to many sins. People with mental health issues have it worse tenfold . I'm personally down to 10 per day, from 25 - 30 per day, so that's a miracle ❤
Tessa Logan a miracle would be him taking it away from you completely, which he can ! And which HE WILL! We mustn’t die in addiction to something.. that’s a watered down version of scripture! Sin is sin and that’s like us dying in an addiction to sex and I bet you would tel someone who thinks they’re getting into heaven with a sex addiction as a Christian that they most likely won’t .. because it’s true they won’t... so we should not settle for living inside of an addiction! Sin disconnects us and there’s a reason the path is narrow and many are called... but few enter :/ ... please keep praying and sacrifice it and give it to the Lord! God wants you to quit as well and you CAN do it. You must stop feeding the addiction live for Christ. Pray for self control.

Been addicted to smoking for so long, I want to quit but it's been a major struggle. I will not give up hope that the Holy Spirit will help me because for 3years I was also addicted to cocaine and I know that the Holy Spirit took that desire from me because I quit without any withdrawals and I didn't desire it anymore. I pray everyday to quit and I know that God will help me because my desires are getting stronger to quit to the point where I get angry with my addiction. All I can say is thank you Holy Spirit for what you're doing in me. I'm not pulling from my own strength to quit, I'm pulling from the Holy Spirit because I will do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
You must do something about it. I’ve learned God requires action from you he expects you to repent and he’s waiting.
I am trying to quit vaping and I know the Lord wants me to quit. It’s a battle between the flesh and the spirit. I know I am vaping because I’ve gone through so much trauma in the past 1-2yrs. My anxiety and triggers make me vape. I am going to lean more on the Lord because I feel like that’s what he wants me to do. Please pray for me. I truly want to quit!!

So many people talk about Smoking being bad for your Temple, but no one says that improper eating is. Pastors condemn smoking, but they don't condemn Gluttony, which IS a Sin spoken about in the Bible, unlike Smoking, which is not mentioned one time. Now, I'm not condoning Smoking, but we can't add smoking as a Sin, if the Bible doesn't say that it is.
Sister Rose the Bible doesn't say smoking crack, meth or shooting heroin is a sin. Doesn't mean that their not sins.

It is a sin to not stay sober minded. You have to be sober minded.
Smoking is surely a bad habit but Sins like lying & gossiping is something we should be more focused on.
Smoking is not profitable to our body & we will face the consequences of abusing ourselves eventually but to say that Salvation is dependent on whether one smoke or not is ridiculous.

I have smoked cigarettes 6years, started when I was 12/13 and I have anxiety and mentalhealth issues wich I cope whit smoking, I heard that smoking addiction means living in sin that I need to ask forgivness everytime I smoke even if I smoke many times in a day and I know it is a sin😭 but I thought that it is not so bad, Not sure what to do or think, someone pray for me🙏🏼

I'm not smoking again I've got nicotine mints but I've had 5 since I bought them not getting addicted again Smokings stupid. Move at your own pace and trust in the holy spirit to guide you

I'm a smoker and tried that, and it just didnt work. I honestly feel funny about thanking the lord for delivering me from cigarettes while I'm smoking, to me that doesnt help at all and it sounds like new age mess. I was in new age for a while and they believe you can speak things into existence by speaking positive affirmations, exc. Need to be real careful with that stuff, I personally will never again get even remotely close to any new age practice ever again and that goes for trying to speak things into existence.

Bro.. keep praying and truly trust that he will take away all your addictions because he will! Sacrifice your addictions for him and show some fight! We mustn’t die in a certain addiction.. all addiction to something that damages his SPIRIT whom which lives inside of us is a sin and it disconnects us from truly knowing his heart and what the word of God says... if we die in a certain addiction such as nicotine, it’s like dying in an addiction to sex .. sin is sin and I bet if a Christian asked you “hey I have a problem with sex but I just feel I can’t stop .. I’ll get into heaven tho right?” I bet your answer isn’t yes .. because it shouldn’t be.. so it should be the same for all other addictions such as nicotine ! You got this bro! So of course to acquire a proper relationship with the Lord .. release all things that hinder connection .. but you can still have a relationship with God while having a bad habit 😂 jus focus on relationship with him and don’t beat yourself up trying to please him.. for our works are like dirty rags ... all works

That was very well said. I've smoked and still do for 30yrs. I try to quit from time to time. I feel so guilty when I do. We shouldn't harm the very thing God gave us. Thank God for his mercy in knowing our hearts. We still love him and as long as we cry to him in repentance he will deliver you through. Your want to please the lord will grow and you'll turn from sin.

Asides from mild-altering (Nicotine is a stimulant). It is addictive. It can increase blood pressure & heart rate, cause dental problems and other issues. The principle of caring for the body (temple of the HS) applies too.
Nicotine gum is for weening off cigarettes. Generally it is used within a given timeframe, i.e. 12-weeks. It is never something to use without end or perpetually.
Christians are to use the product responsibly and according to the way it is meant to be used.

Does God know that I'm trying very hard to quit do he know my efforts, does he know I stopped for 24 hours because I was trying my best to quit? Is he mad at me? did he turn his back on me? Does he hear my prayer for deliverance? Does he understand that this is a struggle and it's hard? I hate saying that because he said we can do all things through Christ which give us Strength.

We will pray for you. Following Christ once we are saved does take effort. We choose with our wills to say no to sin and yes to Christ. For example, if someone is overweight, they will not lose weight with no effort. It does require them to change their diet and exercise. Are you involved in your local church body and in a small group Bible study? Also, ask them to keep you accountable and also pray for you. They should know you well. Replace the urge to smoke with other spiritual disciplines like reading the Bible, service in your local church, prayer groups etc. In addition, always talk to your doctor--they probably have medical advice to assist you.
Please just quit. Stop buying cigarettes and don’t do it. It’s the only way it’s going to stop. Draw closer to the Lord then it will be untenable to even contemplate it. You CAN do it.
I was confronted with an ultimatum, by God. If I did not quit there and then, He would do away with me. That was March 3rd, 2023. It was insanely hard but when God tells you such a thing, trust me, you obey. A year later, He made me understand, through prayer that the temple of the spirit is our bodies. Willfully poisoning it with addictions, bad food or any kind of abuse is, by definition, a rejection from God and the Spirit of Life. If you truly want a better, more intimate relationship with God, you need to go through this physical purification. Am introspective now about the sin of gluttony and everything it can entail. A common sin society rendered acceptable & cute. It’s a helluvah dig… believe it!

I to as a saved believer is also struggling with cigarettes to be full honest.Im struggling hard to give up this terrible bad habit.My primary care doctor put me on Welbutrien which she told Mr would help me quit,But I've been taking it for a while now and yes it's helped me slowdown on the smoking. But I haven't quit yet.She told me that many of her patients have quit while taking the pill But I'm still smoking

The truth is, at some point your body ("the temple" as he says) is going to either be disintegrated in the ashes, or eaten by worms in the ground and you will be totally unrecognizable in your body. But, the good news is that God has made new bodies for believers born again and that body is waiting in heavenly places, prepared for you. That is the true "temple of the body".

I quit, I have been struggling with it for so long and I just did it but I don’t know if God still loves me now because I just spent 8 days detoxing and having withdrawals cursing God so I don’t know if it would have been better had I just stayed smoking. I now feel guilty and like a bad person because of my thoughts during that detox time.

I believe that I have been unknowingly early on and then knowingly trying to kill the flesh to free my soul with destructive habits I developed coping with both the mental and physical pain of surviving a near death experience and a lack of love from those that brought me into existence. As I have grown in my faith and understanding no matter how dark broken and unloved this world can make you feel I know from experience that God a loving and merciful father has always guided me with the truth written in all of our hearts. Cigarettes are my last vice I need to put to bed as my conscious has told me. I am down to two a day so pray for me as I pray for you and remember Jesus will never leave or forsake us and he did not die on the cross to kill us for our sins but to save us.

The Apostle Paul is above you in authority. You refuse to obey Paul, then you refuse to obey Christ. When Paul speaks of the body being the temple, he is referring to sexual immorailty. That is it. By adding to Paul's instruction, you have added to the Bible additional Scripture to Pauls' words. Paul made it clear that areas not mentioned specifially in the Bible are left to one's conscience.

Since I got saved 6 months ago & God has removed most negative things about me but for the Life of me I make it about a day & start getting dizzy & incoherent so I smoke a cigarette & immediately feel better but so ashamed in God's presence that I don't even feel worthy to talk too The Most HIGH. Thanks to Jesus, I got off of porn, magick, Xanax, heroin, etizolam, antipsychotics, meth, coke, molly, weed, mushrooms, LSD, and kratom, and it's just alcohol and cigarettes at this point. I just relapsed, but I have really condescending family that say things like, "Oh, I don't know if you're saved; Christians don't smoke cigarettes." Yeah, okay. Apparently, some of us do, and are fighting against something that's 3 times harder to quit than heroin.

A isolated “cold turkey” might have worked for somebody, so we imagine, but often times successfully severing from the addiction may involve being in a place where one can receive accountability, encouragement, prayer, instruction, and if necessary, correction. This can happen within the context of a healthy well-balanced church. God is also a source of strength in wrestling with an addiction. @@kevinkeating5110 Casting out demons is not complicated people on one hand could make it complicated all its take is faith in Jesus and believe and trust and as far as circumstances go that just an excuse and could be a stumbling block for people. At the end of the day there is no excuse before The King. There are many examples in scripture of people that had many extreme circumstances like Moses and David yet despite their circumstances it did not prevent them from coming before the Living God and to ask for some form of deliverance. I don't say this to offend you but what you say in your comment is water down it kind of discourages others from accepting there deliverance. If you are interested more in spiritual things ask the Lord Jesus in your prayers to open it up to you so you have the revelation and understanding that comes from Him regarding demons or anything in the spirit realm.

The people who look down on smokers have their own sins. Overeating, gossip, foul language, and a host of other sins. Jesus died on the cross to save us from the penalty of sin. He did not come to change us. He came to give us eternal life. The GIFT of God is eternal life. Once you receive it, what do you have? Eternal life.
Romans 3:26-28. For He is the just and the justifier, of them that BELIEVE in Jesus. Where is boasting then? IT is excluded. By what law? BY the law of works? Nay, but by the law of FAITH. Therefore we conclude a man is justified by FAITH apart from the deeds of the law.
You cannot boast in a free gift that we did nothing for except to believe it. There will be no boasting in heaven. Matthew 7:21-23. But Lord, Lord, Look at what WE'VE done. Why we prophesied, in your name, and cast out demons, in your name, and did many wonderful works, in your name. But Jesus said in verse 21. Only those that do the will of His Father are saved.

If I asked you right now where are you going when you die? The only answer you can give me is heaven.
God cannot lie. The GIFT of God is eternal life. Not a reward for good behavior, but a free gift. Paid in full by the giver. A reward is something you earn or work for. But no one can earn heaven.
First John 2:2 And He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but for the sins of the whole world. First John 1:8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive our selves and the truth is not in us.
We are all sinners to a degree and will be sinners till we die and go to heaven. But Jesus paid our sin debt we owe God so we can never be condemned again. John 3:18. That is why the gospel is called GOOD NEWS. I hope this helps some one to trust in Jesus alone for the free gift of eternal life.

Well I would imagine to be saved would be like the biggest thing most awe feeling you would ever experience and you wouldn’t want nothing else right when you’re Jesus manifests himself in you so smoking would most likely be broken. Bc nothing can can control God and since Jesus is in the father and Jesus in us we are one making it pretty obvious I would think that nothing can control you at that point
I understand what he's saying if it's not a problem for you then it isn't a problem we all fall short of the glory which is why Jesus died for our sins because if we died by the punishment of sin like how it was before Jesus died for our sins that would all be damned but we all have something we struggle with we're all not perfect so I understand what you're saying you can be saved even though you suffer

If you are a devout Christian but still smoke, I don't think it cancels out your salvation. But I do think the Lord wants better for you, and I do think you will receive a lesser share in the kingdom of heaven.
Every drug, strong drink, and cigarette is a charmer, a flatterer, and a deceiver; they make us feel happier for no good reason. When man was created I don't think the Lord intended him to be using all that nonsense. Because, if we are always getting a "fix" from a chemical artifice then we are less likely to go out of our ways to do good deeds and work hard in life, because, we can just "cheat" at bringing ourselves happiness... its the "wide open door" versus "the small door".
We need to remember that there is a war on for our spirits, not just for our physical health. Because our spirits are directly affected by our thoughts, emotions, and mental states. Most people don't mention how our thoughts and emotions are the top targets of earthly vices. They talk about how "the body is a temple", then they don't go much deeper than that. Every time we partake in vices we are showing a lack of spiritual vigilance. I think the Lord smiles when people decide to live the natural life, WITHOUT serotonin/dopamine modifiers. If you are a smoker, you can bet that God wishes better for you. Because there are those that use the majority of their time and energy doing the Lord's works, and there are those that use the majority of their time and energy getting artificial joy. I do think it affects the treasures you store up in heaven.
Even if we are saved as smokers, we can still choose to show the Lord that we can put down our silly chemicals - and get serious.
I think personally the bigger problem, is, that yes, we may be damaging the Temple of the Holy Spirit, but then so is going out into a car (Co2) , particular products, make up so and so forth. I think the BIGGER problem is do we (and yes I am a smoker) the “little nail coffins” MORE IMPORTANT than the Lord? do these things become little idols?

We must be cautious not to attribute addiction of smoking to nicotine itself. Which is not "harmful" if not overused, as is alcohol, sugar, caffeine. All the same.
Unfortunately cigarettes burn, both paper and chemical sprays, while getting at the tobacco, then getting to the nicotine.
However, just to be cautious we are speaking of addiction, not self control. You cant self control the use of Meth, which can be likened to tobacco, but cannot be liked to Nicotine whoch is beneficial for digestion and relaxation. Much better, health wise than many "pharmaceuticals".
Not condoning smoking, just making sure we don't, in our zeal, attribute the harmfulness of cigarettes and addiction, to nicotine itself.

The LORD JESUS CHRIST gave me victory back in 1983 from cigarettes and alcohol. My big battle now with appetites is eating to much. I need to crucify my flesh in this area.So I don't go into bad health, diabetes type 2. Our bodies are the temples of the HOLY Spirit, The LORD JESUS CHRIST said Be ye holy for Iam holy we don't want to defile our temples. Go to church and have some prayer warriors and the Pastor to lay hands on you, and get deliverance.

Many people struggle with addictions and one can certainly be addicted to cigarettes. It is a mistake to think cigarettes will keep a man or woman out of heaven. One cannot simply say, “Self, this is not a salvation issue, so continue puffing away.” Rather, the Good News is that though Christ that we have a way of being redeemed from the vices of sin. A slave to cigarettes can be set free.
Whether or not one is saved is based upon a relationship with God the Father on account of the Son and through the power of the Spirit.

One pastor I had deliverence from said if I didn't quit smoking I would not be raptured, if you believe in the rapture. I saw a video yesterday where the person said smoking is idolatry. So who knows. I just know I need to quit.

Christians can be addicted to many things outside of cigarettes. Like sugar and food, which is also damaging to the temple, coffee, etc…. Let everyone judge for themselves their own relationship with the Lord. Stop judging others and judge yourself. And addiction to cigarettes is a very difficult thing. Own no one but to love them in the body of Christ.

The book of Revelation is TO Isreal and all unbelievers and is future events that don't pertain to us under grace.
Those spoken about in chapter 9 are all who remain alive after the plagues/judgements and still reject Christ and refuse to repent for what they have done bc at that time works will be reinstated bc grace will be no more.
It doesn't apply to the dispensation of grace In which we live right now.
If you believe your saved and SEALED right now under grace and grace ALONE than you won't be here for that. That's Jacob's trouble (tribulation) and it's NOT for us the Body of Christ under grace.
