I just went back and listened. AVR 4001 is a Nathan K5LA, AVR 3002 is a Nathan P5. It's plain as day... AVR 4002 I think is a K5 of some kind as well, definitely not a 5 chime Leslie. The AVR 2005, 2008 and the other maroon units do seem to have Leslie RS5T or S5T's
avrrailfan AVR 3002 is 1000% a Nathan P5. The P horns have a very distinctive brassy sound, which cannot be mistaken for any other horn. I dont think any of the grey ones are K3's, the 3 chime K horns have a considerably different sound than the K5's, much deeper. On the Leslies, the RS5 and RS3's sound more similar than the 3 chime vs 5 chime Nathans. If you dont believe me listen to them on TH-cam.
troy12n I know 3002 has a P5, but I am only sort of sure that the gray GP40-3s have K3 series. The maroon ones (GP11s) have RS5Ts. I looked closely at the videos of 4001 and it definitely has a three-belled horn. Still not sure about 4002. The only reason that I'm not sure is that it sounds completely different now. Not sure if the horn was fowled, or replaced.
Great smash from the past...asked before on a previous vid. Info on shipper/receiver of the coil coaches? Any help greatly appreciated! As always, fantastic work.
Where's the run8? Most of those nowhere near run8, also most of those horns were RS3L's, a couple P-5's and a K5H thrown in there for good measure. Misleading
I don't want to get into a big argument, but they are RS5Ts. I know the quality is kinda bad, so you can't see that they have five bells. Also, no 5-bell Nathans. I made sure the horn types were right by looking at photos of the locomotives when I couldn't see the horn in my own. Most of the horns are K3Ls (unless they've gotten new ones since when I took these). But I was wrong about the notch-8, that was just silly of me.

Yes, and I think they may have changed some of the horns now. Only 4003, which isn't in this video, for sure has a K5LA. The other gray ones have K3s.
