I have one I bought off ebay as a guy has a lot sorted into conditioning levels..I bought a $29 one he picked for me just to use the blade salvaged to customize the handle.I will remove guard and hope I can do something with fixed pommel to leave tang long enough still..Wish I chose the shorter dagger typed blades as would go much easier.Just signed on for a bunch of extra tinkering..See what I can do....I admire the blade and imagined brass hardware with forked tang stag fitted.Beautiful real refurb done here,Salute...Makes me feel bad tearing one apart but is damaged shaky guard example,not a minty I use..
That makes me feel even worse cause I use my bayonet for throwing lol I couldn’t help myself lol it is an excellent life for throwing believe it or not, it scary how much further it will sink in as compared to stabbing/thrusting into some wood..makes me think of how deadly the design of this bayonet is and who met their end by it during the war. I’ll probably pick up a couple more and restore those as a show piece.
@@markfarrier12 Yes,I have both somewhere in a box, but am headed out on metal detecting jaunt with friends. When I get home will see if I can locate it. I know five hour time diff so might be tomorrow I will msg as to my success...Cheers!!
I have one of these bayonets I'm trying to put on my 1903 but the muzzle ring is out of shape and wont fit around the barrel. Any good ways to get round again?
Ok, yep knew that spring I found wasn’t quite right..sh!t where the hell did I put that. It’s terrible putting something back together when it’s be a year since you took it apart 🤦🏼♂️
