The reason they did not do a lot of promotion is because the amount of backlash from her first album was really hard on her mental health. She spoke about it in her livestreams. In the end, the songs being too short is not the worst problem she could have. I like it better than the first album. It feels like a natural progression was made and she is proving that she can get even better from here
