    I think the reason it can withstand you standing on it is because an ostrich weighs at least as much as you do or more and they sit on them to hatch them so that’s why they have to be able to be strong enough to hold their moms weight.

    structurally speaking, egg shell shape has a great tensile strenght. it's not much different than an arch's internal stress diagram when an external force applied.

    To truly witness the structural integrity of an egg, you have to apply pressure on its axial plane (on the pointy part) instead of the equatorial plane (sideways)

    Have you ever tried to hard boil an Ostrich egg? It takes about an hour to get the whole egg solid. They are delicious though, lol

    So Why did the egg not start boiling in a vaccuum? if it had a permeable membrane(which i think is only true for washed eggs,not freshly laid ones) it should have boiled

    The eggs became smaller in full vacuum and returned to her original size when you reasserted the air
