The segment on Rebecca was Golden for sure. ... "....Mental dialogue..etc."...Awesome editing, Chad. I was in tears for a full five minutes. In all seriousness, It is great that this sport can be enjoyed by just about anyone, and Rebecca Is a great example of that. I admire her ambition.
Good to hear that Rebecca did well. Congratulations to you on your success at growing this sport the way you have. it has been fun and fascinating to watch it blowup in the last few years. i hope to make it to one of your events eventually. Glad to hear thing are improving for you. Thanks for the reply... (i'll be thinking of Rebeccas response on my next missed fish for sure.. Im still cracking up... and i'm not a laugher)
@@ChadHooverFishing trust me Chad, I’ve watched everything on that list about twice now. I’m more talking about moving into next year and the years to come
Chad, Every time I watch this it put in perspective how #KBF have taken #KayakFishingTournaments to the next level. Thaks aging for all that the #KBFTeam contribute to the industry.
Wow! 6 figure payday! Outstanding GREAT WORK KBF!! Kayak Bass Fishing and the sport of Kayak Fishing has grown so much so fast!! Let's hope we don't start seeing 10+thousand dollar kayaks! Please let's keep this sport affordable!!! After all, that's it's origin right?!! CONGRATULATIONS to the Winner and to KBF!
There are more sub $1000 kayaks available now than there were when I started over 20 years ago. Just because some kayaks get more expensive doesn’t mean there won’t be price point options. Innovation breeds competition and when companies compete consumers win.
I think a tournament series that's no electronic imaging/sonar would be really cool. Motors sure, but just old school fishing. See who can not only catch the biggest bag, but who can read and learn the lake fastest.
Bass are alway so tame on the measuring board in these videos!! LOL I have lost soo many fish trying to measure them. Anybody have and tips on putting sleeper hold on them during measure, photo release??!!! Thanks! Steve
The color patterns on the bass is somewhat of a "fingerprint"- the judges examine the same length fish very carefully for them being the same vs different.
Great job! Great video! It is strictly my opinion that motorized kayaks give a distinct advantage over the guy/girl who has to paddle or pedal. It's always best to have a level playing field. Keep up the good work.
Chad Hoover finally watched the full thing and WOW! You and Gene truly are a huge part of the forces changing the sport of bass fishing, and for that I THANK YOU. I’m a brand new kayak owner (and a female angler), and this was unbelievably exciting and inspiring to watch. Maybe I’ll see you there next year! 🎣
So everyone went from motor boats to kayaks in order to leave the motors behind and then added motors to kayaks. LMAO and my man's setup with 12 rods on the front of the yak is ridiculous!
Thanks for stating the obvious. Congratulations on making yourself feel betters. If I had a sticker for least insightful comment I would send it to you. No, wait, I would send you a few......😜
Chad Hoover I love watching these I’m just not understanding how they do better than a big boat. I get they can go shallow but is it just that big a difference?
Love kayak fishing. Would love to fish a huge tourney but in all honesty I think the trolling motors ruin the entire point of kayak fishing. Mine as well just buy a jon boat
Okay. Thanks for your input. It’s a good thing that what some people think doesn’t really affect how others choose to enjoy themselves or pursue their passion. I’m proud to live in a country where everything isn’t “defined” by what the minority or even the majority “think” or “feel”. I had jon boats most of my life and they can’t touch what I can do in a kayak, not even close. This “might as well buy a boat” argument is old, tried and really doesn’t make any sense.
@@ChadHooverFishing I wasnt spraying hate man. I respect and love kayak fishing just as much as the next guy. I just personally would never use a trolling motor. No need to get offended
I just dont like the electric motors. To me that just takes away from everything the kayak is supposed to be. What if come late in a tournament a guy is tired from moving around all day and doesnt want to make a hard trip to another spot before the day is over and it costs him a real big fish where as someone else who will make the hard pedaling or rowing journey to another spot might pick up a big fish to help win a tournament. idk just sitting there with your electric motor buzzing around a lake or river just kills it for me, but im a kayak guy ive been rowing kayaks for almost 20 years so I'm a little biased. Might as well be on a boat in my opinion. Other than I loved the video great to watch. Just dump those electric motors :)
Thanks for your opinion. It’s yours and I respect it. It doesn’t kill it for me, it enhances the overall experience many times and all of the comments about “just getting a boat are silly” that’s like saying that if someone gets an electric scooter they might as well get an eighteen wheeler”! Again, thanks for your comment and sharing your opinion, but please don’t tell me how to do what I enjoy.
Chad Hoover electric scooters and 18 wheelers are nothing alike lol but I get what you’re saying to each his own I guess like I said it just seems like your weeding out the average guy trying to make it because he’s going to be at a disadvantage without the motor. They aren’t exactly cheap especially on top of kayaks that aren’t cheap. It’s just another way you can pay your way to a win.
Because if you have a bunch of guys who can't afford a 1700 dollar electric motor, that adds some level of advantage to the guys that do, and you aren't really creating an equal playing field.
JCBHatesFishing I don’t have 1700 dollars to spend on a torqeedo either. Hell I don’t even have 1700 in my entire kayak. But I do have a trolling motor on there, maybe $250 in the entire setup and it’s just as fast as the torqeedo. Yet you have all these guys in hobies and we all know how much they cost.
So, this takes place mid-March, None of the trees have leafed out yet, the water temperature is likely in the mid to lower 50's and only two people in this entire video have ANY sort of cold water immersion gear on. Someone is going to get seriously hurt or killed at one of these tournaments.... IMO, wait 2-3 weeks until the water is in the 60's at least, its not fair to expect the average person to know the dangers of water this cold.....
Nope. Not even close. Just so you know before, less than 15% of people in this event even used motors so there were already 85% without motors. As kayak anglers, we don’t really “leave the dock”. It’s funny you are talking about motors while trolling. Thanks for the comment and the engagement. Do a little research though and don’t follow the current trend of making declarations that aren’t anywhere near the truth. Leave that to the media and politicians. MUAH!! 😘😘😘😘

Don't try to measure them on your lap- put them on the floor of your yak with a net guarding the gunnel.
