Malaysia's currently closing school for two weeks, my school did not manage to prep for online classes so we would not be having lessons online. Self-study with Cognito's video, totally recommending! Thank you so much.
If people who love physics and do not have a good teacher, they would lose their interest in the subject but because of you, keep their interest in the subject. THANK YOU
This is the best video that helped me understand more and learning more about electromagnet. I was struggling to understand in my class about electromagnet and this made my day. :)
Thank you I have a test on electromagnets tomorrow and I didn't understand anything but this 5 min video has helped me more than my teacher has in the last 3 weeks of doing this topic :) tysm
I do not know how to thank you! .You quelled my fear and now at least I have a modicum of confidence in physics . Your explanations are really helpful and succinct .
I just noticed that the orientation of the other wire of the solenoid must be on the other side if it's on bottom. Haha. Btw, the video is so helpful for understanding magnetic fields. Thank you and keep up!!
These videos are great. Thank you for making this resource. I had not understood electromagnetism or the right hand rule before this video, so I thank you.
A wire - current flows through it from bottom to top. The electric current produces produces a magnetic field all around the wire, which can be represented with field lines - concentric circles around the wire, closest together near the wire, as it’s where the magnetic field is the strongest.
Hi Ivab, we've not managed everything in that chapter, so we've only got the motor effect video coming out tomorrow then sadly that's it for paper 2 this year. Good luck!!!
The wire used in an electromagnet which is wrapped around an iron core must be insulated. A bare wire would cause current to pass through the core creating a short.
Magnetic field lines move from north to south, so the lines on the bottom left magnet is correct. However if you are talking about the magnetic field direction in the solenoid, it depends whether the solenoid is coiled clockwise or anticlockwise. So in this case the diagram is correct.
Video was very helpful!😁 Thanks for giving me knowledge in a beautiful way❤️ . Can you please give lessons on topic "light " too. Light chapter is in our course curriculum CBSE. But I can't understand anything as in india, we are not taught how and exactly what a thing is! They just make us gulp the text written in the book. I know it will take a lot of effort to make a video . But please help sir🙏 . Respect your knowledge ! Regards, Pranav Sharma Hope. You will reply👨🏫 my best teacher❤️

Thank you... I learned more in your 5-minute video than in 3 years of physics lessons. :)
If only teachers explained like this, physics would be so much easier and students would see the beauty of it instead of being terrified of it
But 😢 my teacher don't know physic maybe she get the job as a teacher with money ,

This 5 minute video explains better than my teacher who’s been doing this topic for 1 week. The school system 🙄
Honestly
4:15 It says 'Increase number of coils' - it should be increase the number of turns (which you say in the voiceover)
Actually, it means the same, we increase the number of coils/ we turn it more.
These videos are great. Thank you for making this resource. I had not understood electromagnetism or the right hand rule before this video, so I thank you.

electromagnetism: Phenomenon by which electric currents produce their own magnetic fields.
Wires, coils, solenoids, and electromagnets.

Direction of the magnetic field - depends of the direction of the current. Determined by the right hand rule.

This is a wonderful video that helps me a lot, but isn’t the diagram of the solenoid wrong? The direction of the conventional current is revered.
For the direction of current, do we point our thumb in the direction of the conventional current or electron flow?
@3:41 I am confused with the magnet direction. It seems to be the opposite of your presentation if you google it. Could you check?
Magnetic field lines move from north to south, so the lines on the bottom left magnet is correct. However if you are talking about the magnetic field direction in the solenoid, it depends whether the solenoid is coiled clockwise or anticlockwise. So in this case the diagram is correct.
Very informative video! Love it!
