I loved your tip about scribbling in! When I remember to, I add some watercolour brush texture over the clothes and hair of my characters in the same but maybe darker colour ^W^ It isn't too noticeable but for me it adds a new dimension to the piece :> sometimes i even make the watercolour a different colour (like yellow or green on top of blue) and that creates an interesting, more natural effect to because in real life colours can mix and be different to how they seem at first! ^W^

Hi Mimi! I got the brush pack from Etsy yesterday and after testing it a bit I noticed that the texture of the "Mimi chunky pencil" is slightly different than shown in the video, I feel like it's more smooth and leaves less "white spaces" when coloring. In the video it looks more like a coloring pencil or a 6B one. So I decided to open the pack on Procreate again and noticed that in the pack I got, this specific brush is named "Mimi chunky pencil 2", so the question is: am I using it wrong or it got an update? I wonder if I'm doing something wrong because I'm fairly new to this lol but anyway, I love the brushes and can't wait to make wonderful illustrations with it!
Hi Giuliana - thanks so much for purchasing the brushes! Oh that's so strange. I just re-imported the brushes into Procreate and the chunky pencil brush looks normal on my end, but there's a good chance we might have accidentally mis-labelled a brush in the video and it might have been the chunky crayon (which has lots more texture) instead of the chunky pencil. Is there a particular part of the video you were referencing? I'll check if we made a mistake! Thanks 🥰

I was talking about the part when you start coloring the rabbit's hat, in the video it seems much more like a pencil and when I use it it feels more smooth, much closer to the smooth pencil. I tried it again this evening and what I noticed is that if I don't apply a lot of pressure, it gets a little bit more like the video, but not as "sharp", and if I try your tip of shading (and applying more pressure) it gets smoother. So idk, maybe it's a me problem, as I mentioned before I am very new to this digital illustration fun hahaha@@MimimooIllustration

I use iBisPaint X, would there be a way to convert Procreate brushes into brushes for other drawing apps? I tried to learn Procreate but I didn't like it as much as I did iBis. But I suppose I could make it a goal this year to try it out again and learn it!

Yay so glad you liked it! I use 'multiply' blend mode to get those vibrant, darker colours - you can see the steps at 07:06 in the video 🥰
