I just wanted to add for K1200LT... The K1200, R1200C and R1100S use the same ABS2 units as the 1150GS, but there is no ABS switch to use for the reset procedure. If you can access pin #21 on the ABS unit, you can ground it to achieve the same effect as having the ABS button. Pin #21 will be on the large connector to the ABS unit. I've gotten confirmation from K12 and R11S owners that they were successful. Here's one description: (above)

    (2) "On my 2000 K1200LT the brown/blue wire was the correct wire to use on the diagnostic plug. You have to remove the large 25 pin connector from the ABS unit, remove one tie wrap and three phillips head screws on the connector (two are under the rubber that was held on by the tie wrap). After you have done this and exposed the wires and female connector plug you can see where pin 21 is numbered on the connector. (above)

Thank you for explaining the process, I’ve just purchased a R1150GS with that ABS II and the light sequences are driving me nuts! I will swap the battery soon (the bike has been standing unused for a while) and follow the sequence shown.

    (3) I used a 14 gage wire with an aligator clip on one end with about 1/16" of copper exposed and plugged it in the pin 21 slot and reinstalled the connector without the connector housing. I then made sure it felt like I had good contact on pin 21. I then used a straight pin and another 14 gage piece of wire with an aligator clip to pin into the brown and blue wire on the maintenance connector and then aligator clipped this to the negative terminal on the battery. Does explain clearly just how to reset the ABS Module. See if I actually go and buy this 2001 later today. Its a train wreck, so a whole lot of iffy involved. Thanks.

    (4) I then turned the key to on and then touched the alligator clip from pin 21 to the negative terminal on the battery (8 seconds is fine but mine immediately reset). The ABS lights went from alternate flashing to normal flashing simultaneously. (sorry I had to brake this in to 4 parts. But I thought some buy with a K1200LT would like to know so he dont have to take it to the dealer.

Nearly every time I ride, my 96 R1100RT, I get a ABS fault. I reset it by cycling the key on and off, and doing a rolling start it resets. Might take a few tries. All good until I turn off the key. Then its repeat the procedure. Very annoying.
I assume I am having some sort of sensor error. I am considering pulling out the mechanical sensors and cleaning and inspecting them. But first I will try this. Nothing to lose.

Did you install speakers for your r1100rt?

Seems like a quick enough fix- However, I took my K1200S to an agent who hooked it up to a diagnostic computer- which in turn displayed an error of "Modulator failure".. I must confess, I had my braking system flushed and I suspect some grit might have entered the modulator which is now flashing continuously. Any ideas from your experience if my suspicion could be warranted?

Great demo thanks. Could you please tell me how to replace riders display unit on a 1997 BMW R1100RT. My bike's display is not properly functioning. It doesn't show temp and gear. I saw a unit being sold on Ebay. Thought to buy it but want to know how to install it first. I am a new rider of BMW. Thanks for the help.

Hello, please can you help?? I have watched your videos on the ABS-II. But, my 1999 K1200RS is different! It has a round connector and no ABS button.
Reason that the lights are flashed alternating is that I turned on the engine after a clutch change without the drive shaft and final drive connected (sensors disconnect) and the battery was low too.
    Please help. Thank you.
